Hey Boomstick Gaming, I came up with my own Tip: If you need to take a break for a bit - mark a point in the river on the other side of the map and then hit the button to have your ship follow the river. It was a nice way to get a bunch of fast travel points randomly placed throughout the rivers of England and to discover bits of the map and what's nearby the shorelines. Makes it a bit less intimidating having less fog of war! Btw your ship auto-hugs the coastline when it's out on the eastern seaboard. Another tip for when you're afk: Set your bird in a direction you haven't explored and let it fly while you're afk. :) Both are good for getting an idea of where things are at!
Lazy method for catching flying paper: trigger the chase, then follow it with your eagle and tag the final spot it pauses at. Then when it resets, start the chase again but just go directly to the end and wait for it to come to you. It might not work for everything, especialy if it rests somewhere with a significant climb, but so far it hasn't failed me for the first half-dozen or so I've collected.
Handy in a raid on a roof with a torch to light arrows but just picking off guards stealthy like a headshot with a hunter bow is usually enough or use double arrow perk

The only problem with the ship tip, is that there are some guard stations that have chains, so you can't travel through there, and there are also some river bandits which have placed fences in the water, so you are stopped and they can shoot you from the shore, but this is also a really good tip, and I will definitely use it, thank you.
Double hunter arrow perk really great for elite enemies on one shot kill. Light bow perk are great for more damage and more shots at once too but receptor bow seems a bit too clunky unless in stealth to pick off guards but great as you ccs. Easily change bows in the menu options at any time
