    Hey brother, I have the same bike and would like to know if it is possible to take the exhaust off, cut the top of it open, rip out the insides and weld the top back on.

    Hi, installation possible on Kawasaki ninja 400 2014 ?

    Update..... fark yeah i love it. Not sure whether or not to leave the baffle in or take it out.

      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I plan on taking my intake baffles back out this summer to give it a test let me know what you think if you do it before I get a chance. Bike is in storage for the winter which is why I have not added any new videos as of late. I will be tossing a few reviews up in the meantime when I have some extra time. I keep ordering stuff and it's killing me just looking at the packages lol.

    Gday mate me again. Did your stock pipe come with a O2 sensor because mine did so ive ordered a block of plug. I put the spacers in and its about 3mm of the tyre. I'll check for rubbing. Thanks for all your help it made it easier on me. Just about to fire it up.😊

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice, you got that fairly quick. I did not get an O2 Sensor. Do you live in Cali or something? We have far less strict emission laws here.
      The exhaust I believe is used on multiple bikes which is why they include the spacers. I did not install them as I found it brought the exhaust way too close to the rear tire.

    • @dant565
      @dant565 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im in Perth Australia and our emission laws are pretty strict which is why our exhaust systems come with an O2 sensor so I've got a lambdar plug on the way. The can is very close to the tyre so I'll keep an eye out to see if it rubs. Anyway i love the sound of it and am still undecided if I'll take the baffle out.

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dan T Prolly should take out the spacers. I don't have them in and I clear my lowered footpegs and tire. Up to you though. 3mm seems way too close!

  • @dant565
    @dant565 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey man great vid again, gonna save alot of headache. How much were those footpegs and where do you get em from? Im 6'2 and feel a little cramped. Cheers.

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ty sir. And those lowering pegs are probably the best purchase comfort wise I've made. Only about an inch or so lower but it takes just enough bend out of the knee to make those longer rides way more enjoyable.
      Site: www.shop.motowerk.com/Ninja-650R-650_c5.htm
      Price: Lowering Foot Pegs = 47USD
      I also bought their Adjustable Brake Lever Nut for 9.50USD
      Shipping was about 20$ or so to Canada.

    I have a 2016 Kawasaki Ninja, are the same exactly the same? I am not sure if there are any changes on the procedure on removing and inputing the Yoshimura Exhaust RS-4 . Thanks!

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, they are the same as far as I know. The steps I cover should be identical for you. Unless you live in Cali or one of those areas where they require the o2 Sensor... Then you'll have the extra step of transferring the sensor to the new exhaust. Which should be plug and play either way.

      Sport Bars V3. I had purchased them form ninja650shop but their site seems to be changing.

    Nice bikes you have there. i have a K6 sv650 naked as well and was wondering of the two bikes witch has the best ergos leg & power wise, reason being I maybe thinking of going for a Ninja 650 for a new bike ? Most people don't have both bikes to compare by side by side, and other thoughts would be great. Thanks much. yl

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ylism Stock i think the SV650 was a little better leg position wise. I almost immediately bought some lowering foot pegs though for my ninja650 and haven't looked back. I find the handle bar position better on the ninja and less strenuous on the back/wrists.

    • @ylism
      @ylism 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the chance to get into a motorcycle dealer the other day, and they had just about every new bike type that was of interest for my newest bike, that does not happen too often.
      Yes the handle bars on the Ninja & versys 650s where much better, that is one of the things I was looking in to for my sv650, even having the naked type is much lower than the Kawasaki bikes.
      So I am much closer to making a decision, and let me say thanks for helping out !

    Hey man I have this exhaust and I'm trying to take out the silencer. I unscrewed the Alan screw and the exhaust pulls out maybe half an inch but I can't get it to come out any farther. It seems like it is angled and can't come out? How were you able to removeyours? Thanks

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nick Pappas Blood sweat and tears man. If you were able to expose about half an inch or so you have 2 options that worked for me once the screw is removed.
      The first would be the most destructive(for the outer part of the silencer) and that's to tape it off, use channel locks to pull and twist it out.
      The second has had mixed results but works with patience: Take the back end of a screwdriver(one with a rubber handle for added friction) stick it in the silencer and wiggle/shake the screw driver back and forth while pulling it out.
      After removing it I sanded the outer layer a bit and used some lube when putting mine back in to avoid repeat headaches when time to remove again.

    hey dude, I recently bought the same exhaust, wondering if it gets too loud on neighbourhood streets. Tat's my only concern on the exhaust...

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +H “GAVFLIESHARD” GS It gets up there without the baffle in. I think it'd be more of an issue if you were out either really early or late at night. Being gentle with the acceleration also helps when putting around town.

  • @dant565
    @dant565 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey mate ive just ordered my exhaust and was wondering if you have the torque specs for the mounts or you just did em up snug.o do you think it'll backfire with without the pcv. Thanks in advance.😎

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congrats on your purchase. Did you grab the Yoshi or something else? I went by feel for the torque settings which I know probably isn't the best method.
      Took a quick peak at the service manual for you and came up with these (I included all conversions) numbers:
      - Exhaust Pipe Manifold Holder Nuts - N-m= 17 - kgf-m= 1.7 - ft-lb= 13
      - Muffler Body Mounting Bolts - N-m= 20 - kgf-m= 2.0 - ft-lb= 15

      Oh, and yes, you will get some popping. At least in my experience. Only way to solve that is by dumping more fuel using a PCV Map.

    • @dant565
      @dant565 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks heaps for looking that up for me and yeah after seeing your vid on the yoshi sound ( which i think is the best by far)i went with it. Just ordered it from ninja650shop & got a k&n filter of ebay. I guess I'll start saving for the power commander and just have to put up with the popping for now. Many thanks for taking the time to look that up for me.Cheers Danny.

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dan T Happy to help! I'm sure you won't be disappointed. The popping isn't too bad and is also less noticeable if you keep the silencer in as well.

  • @RaymondWong2k
    @RaymondWong2k 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    great video, i can't remember which video it was but you mentioned you had a MAP for the PCV for this exhaust, mind sharing that MAP? and did you feel an improvement or smoother decel with this MAP ? there doesn't seem to be a map off of the PCV site for this exhaust combo

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will be switching back to the 2bros map this season. reason being, I find with the leaner MAP I had better acceleration. But what I can do is, i'll upload the MAP that reduces popping to my google+ page and place a link there for anyone interested once I do. Give me a day or so and in the meantime try out the 2bros map offered through the power commander site so you can compare the 2.

    • @RaymondWong2k
      @RaymondWong2k 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thx really appreciate it, I'm still trying to decide between the 2 Bros pipe or the Yoshimura pipe

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Raymond Wong I personally recommend the Yoshi but it's all personal preference. Here, I found the MAP for you and uploaded it to my drive. drive.google.com/file/d/0B2sfS4miK4DiU1ViV2EwTmhHS0JsRmlnQ25VTDdONnpGX0lN/view?usp=sharing

      @RaymondWong2k 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      How did you find this map vs using the 2bro's map? I'm still thinking about the pipe though. Thanks for the MAP!

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Raymond Wong No problem happy to help. I feel like I have better acceleration with the 2bros map. But it runs leaner and has more popping. Dyno or buying the autotune kit would be the best bet (expensive though)

    hey at the 3:22 mark - does the black plastic piece or the black latch to the peg touch the muffler? I noticed its touching on mine and wondering if there's any solutions.

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm.. nothing is touching on mine. It's all very close though. Was your bike ever dropped? maybe something bent slightly to cause some sort of a miss-alignment

    • @mrguyname
      @mrguyname 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      nope never dropped, i loosened everything up and im just moving the muffler around but it's either very close to the rear tire or touches every so slightly on my rearset

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It hovers very close to my rear wheel as well. It's a definitely a snug fit.

  • @lexxdgk
    @lexxdgk 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are those stock handle bars?

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +lexxdgk No sir, they are the Sport Bars from ninja650shop.com
      For me, they were worth the investment. It all depends on if you're looking for a more upright comfort riding position (with stock bars) or a more aggressive, twisty attacking position a little closer to the supersport world. Still not as aggressive as supersport though.

  • @motofrost3774
    @motofrost3774 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    wouldn't the spacers give you more space away from the tire?

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the exhaust kit is used for multiple bikes. There is no way to mount it with the spacers on the 650 that i found where they would be useful.

  • @atomicdiscobiscuit
    @atomicdiscobiscuit 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, you said once in one of your other videos that a 650 and 400 ninja were the same bike for the most part. Do you happen to know if the Yoshimura exhaust will work on my 400? The pipe shape looks the same, but I am not sure about exhaust port diameter. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks very similar. I have yet to see one in person though. My main concern would be the lower fairing which may interfere with the position of the Yoshi. I checked out yoshi's site and they dont sell one specifically for the ninja 400. Seems people go with the exact same 2brothers exhaust slip on however as you would for the 650. I'm going to provide with a link to a thread which may prove useful in making your decision. Hope it helps: www.riderforums.com/general-ninja-650r/64800-exhaust-ninja-400r-650r-same.html

    • @atomicdiscobiscuit
      @atomicdiscobiscuit 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much. I appreciate you looking about for an answer for me. I just got my 400 this summer but it has literally rained all but 6 or 7 days since I got it. But, all that rain gives me plenty of time to work on it. I live in Tokyo so you would think finding parts would be easy, but it isn't.
      Thanks again

    • @atomicdiscobiscuit
      @atomicdiscobiscuit 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you still have your 650? if so, would you mind terribly measuring the pipe diameter coming from the head. If it is the same size as my 400, it will be exactly the same. I am sorry to ask that, but thank you if you can help me out.

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, yep i still have the 650. Bikes still going strong! I'll take a measurement for you of the inner pipe diameter at the headers(from the stock exhaust) when i get home and toss that up for you.

    • @atomicdiscobiscuit

      wow, thank you so much. I really appreciate it.

  • @lordshampoo
    @lordshampoo 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why did you decide this exhaust over the others? Seems like the two brothers one is by far the most popular for this bike

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I listened to sound clips for the most part! Just my own personal preference I guess in the end.
      Though I did read a few horror stories surrounding 2bros(Probably because they do sell more so higher chance of failure reports) Some referenced the exhaust falling apart while others mentioned the frequency in which they needed to be repacked (Although yoshi has repacking kits as well and should probably be done at the recommended intervals(I never have))
      The most extreme case i read about was the exhaust, 2bros, catching fire! I have no clue what brought that on though. I think there may have been more to the story than what was written lol.
      But go with whatever you prefer. For me... twas the yosh!

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh and just to add... I know when listening to sound clips, it's really dependent on the mic used. But consistently across the multitude of videos I watched, The Yoshi just seemed more appealing to me at least on the Ninja650. I love the Akrapovics sound on inline 4s

    • @lordshampoo
      @lordshampoo 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    How does one remove the silencer on it?

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of cursing is involved. I believe I used the back of a screw driver and aggressively shook it back and forth while pulling the last time(Yes, ive done this multiple times heh). I damaged the crap out of it the first time I removed the silencer by using channel lock pliers LOL.
