5 signs an avoidant loves you... 1. All of a sudden he/she will ignore you, all communication will cease and you will wonder if he/she is alive or dead. 2. When you are with them you can tell their mind is somewhere else. They are always moving on to the next thing even when you are right in front of them. 3. You can't bring up any emotional topics, ever. 4. They will make you feel alone... and eventually you will be all alone. 5. They always come back. Usually acting like nothing is wrong... it may be a few days, a few months or a few years yet they always come back. Remember: They love you 🙄
@biasedknowledge ive been on this ride for 12 years with my ex. She just ended it again for the 2nd time. I'm absolutely done now. Lol. We might have a year of nothing but good times but after that, she starts to nitpick everything, nothing is good enough, she's very distant and snaps at me if im on my phone but she will be on hers all evening texting. Then all intimacy fades, she's always distant, won't talk about anything, and constantly puts me down until I either leave or she finally break ups with me by a text message at 42 years old. Unfortunately we have a daughter too, so I put up with it so I was with her each day. Then 3 weeks ago she sent the text & i moved to my parents that night and went no contact. Within a few months im sure she will have a night where she will miss me and from there we start the ride all over again. Now I know the pattern and yes, Id love to see my daughter each day again & feel like we have a family but it will never last unless she gets help. She thinks she's fine. Lol. Im better off by myself for now
Well, it is fascinating that, after all of the videos I've seen (and heard) on this very subject, I've been brought back to the thing I figured out about dismissive avoidants in the very beginning: They leave you before you can 'wise up' and leave them first.
FANTASTIC! I almost didn't watch, put off by the augmented voice and AI image. But the analysis is one of the best I've seen on the topic - and believe me I've watched hundreds by now.
I recognize this. I've been watching videos on the topic of relationship avoidance. There are tons of labels and therapy-speak I've been subject to, being an avoidant never came up. And yet, it's a defining feature of me. I found videos of avoidance on TH-cam to be inaccurate with too much analysis. "Eight stages of subverting a relationship" blah blah kind of thing. Right. An avoidant avoids, period but not exclusively. I raised children, for years alone. Of course I didn't avoid my children. Of course I didn't avoid their father. He was a narcissist and he liked falling "in love" with other woman and giving them all his/MY money. An avoidant IS extremely fucked up and lacking in many qualities, but probably raised by narcissists. Probably finds familiarity in narcissism and has a weakness for love bombing. They also need someone to break through their nearly impenetrable shell and a narcissist can do that. Or the narcissist is so fucked up, he also avoids. But an avoidant is NOT usually a narcissist, DOES have empathy, is NOT attracted to the "perfect" anything, NOT undergoing eight stages of blah blah, and has a lot of other fucked up qualities to keep from being close to people. One more fucked up person. Is their issue hard to take? Yes, for all around. It's a core reason for all their misery, and there's a LOT of misery.
Well I'm glad to have met them. Wrong again. Too late. Why didn't we meet before and then not keep dying one way and another. I know him. I don't want to force anything. Maybe I'm not right for them.

So many factors and reasons. Allowing people to be who they are why they are is a long journey. We often find we are the reflection of them and that's called unrequited Love, Karmic Love, which often is our North Node Destiny Life Lesson, based on our Birth Chart, it all goes together like a pea in a pod. Love people anyway. l;et them do their thing. That's love. Take accountability. Even if it takes years. it's healthy and good. Everything happens for a reason, again, for our highest good. In this life or the next, for ourselves or someone else. We all must play our part!
Religious people seem to be the biggest Gossips. Which are the types of people that motivate Avoidants to be repulsed by sharing vulnerability. (BTW, the antithesis to "love" is "hate".)

Im not sure avoidants pride themselves on much. They'd rather stay in bed than ruin someones day.
