      Thanks, they weren’t too bad on this particular engine, we have seen some fiestas get really bad though!
      We do offer a inlet valve walnut blasting service to clean the build up from the valves

    Very very nice and usefull. what is clear with this car oil change is very important. I see now the weak point of this engine.

    Hallo together, maybe someone can help me. my fiesta does a ticking noise when it’s cold outside and it when it does a cold start.. after 30 seconds it’s away ?
    Maybe the Crank shaft or hydraulic lifter?
    I Drive with 5W50

    Great content. I have same engine but unfortunately my coolant is dropped down every 2 days, what's the problem?

      Could be a few things, coolant leak or worst case head gasket, hard to say without investigating ourself

      Your water pump is ran off the timing chain, if it leaks, coolant mixes with your oil, change your oil and make sure it's not all milky and weird looking. FYI it's about $1200 to have a mechanic to replace it a $200 part 🤦

    I have a pressure gauge mounted on the oil filter - and when the oil is hot the pressure drops to zero, but at 2000 engine rotation it is at 29 psi as in the manual, should I better measure the pressure at the oil senzor?

      Hmm, yes that doesn't sound right. I would try moving your gauge to the pressure switch and see if the reading is different

    What do you guys do about the cracked cylinder head/coolant issue? Is it only some models that have it?

      @@tiagofialho4574 Looked more into it. Seems more like a head gasket issue, so just replace it or get a third-party one like the moontune head gasket.

      @@p0intdk Poor quality alloy. That's the reason why coolant is lost. But this is a secret... everybody wants to believe this isn't true.

    I don't think ford can make a engine with inbuilt issues even with regular oil changes I would think that idea of the filter in the oil pump will cause issues with age as u will always get some grime and deposits in a engine even one that's regularly serviced

      Yes, 1.6 Ecoboost but we already had the turbo removed prior to filming this

    I have 2103 ST running Collins CP2 running circa 240 bhp on a stock engine. I use it on track 4 times a year. I change the oil & filter after one track day and after about 1000 further road miles. So are these engines strong in your opinion and is there anything I can do to prolong the life of my engine? Cheers

      Yes these have been proven to be strong and reliable engines even when running 300hp+
      Regular servicing with good quality oils & warning up and cooling down will help prolong any engines life 😊

      Add an oil cooler if you haven't already, particularly if you are doing HPDE with it. Get one with a thermostat if you live in a cold climate though. Did one track event when it was 90+ degrees F with mine when it was bone stock. Coolant temps were getting really hot about 20 minutes into each session. Problem with the stock cooler is it cools the oil with the engine coolant, which basically just heat soaks the coolant.
      I also run 5W30 instead of 5w20 for HPDE just for a bit of added protection from the oil thinning out. People will probably argue whether or not that is necessary, but I haven't had any issues. I usually keep the 5w30 in it for the hot summers as well, and switch it back to 5w20 given we have extremely cold winters. When I run the thicker oil, I'm careful not to romp on it until I see oil temps of at least 170.
      Other than that, just do regular oil changes every 4-5k miles and always use high quality 93 oct fuel.

      Lol oil does not die after 1 track session or 1000 miles thats just overkill do it after 6000 save u loads of useless changes. Had 10 cars 0 problems i did change after 7500 that was half the interval the ask for

    My mechanic says ecobbost are rubbish zetec or duratec are a better engine
