Man this video has it all! Best one I've seen on dropping a 2wd chevy truck by far. Thanks for all the info, will be using this for a guide when I drop mines
You can put the helper bags and put separate schrader valves for left and right so you can individually set heights. In fact if you had the lowering shackles on BOTH rear sides, you could pump up the left rear bag a little bit more than the right to compensate for the Chevy Lean
Best how to lower these trucks video on the web hands down ! I've used this video several times as a guide reference every step of the way, now onto thoes bottom ball joints!
Another good tip is in the corners of the c notch round out the cuts you made so it wont potentially start cracking in future. Great Video!!! People dont realize the work involved just to do the work and film and talk and keep doing the work.
Perfect timing for this video, i bought a complete low mileage 4/6 drop kit similar to this from a junkyard and im getting it ready to put it on mine. I’ll probably have the c notch welded but other than that im doing everything myself. Thank you for the video.

Years ago after trying to cut the heads off with a chisel for more than a hour, my ex came out, looked at what I was trying to do, stated why don't you drill them out! Center punched rivet, 1/4" bit and 15 minutes later all rivets were out. Great video. Gonna drop my 88 shortly. Owned since 91

Had that Chevy lean when i dropped my S10 5" front 6" out back and found the end links on the sway bar are unequal lengths-solved the problem using a bolt the same length and leveled the front out-reason why they use unequal lengths is so the vehicle will pull to the right slightly in case you fall asleep behind the wheel your ride will go off the road instead of into oncoming traffic.

I had a lot of problems taking those rivets out on the lower control arm until i used a drill press. Just go on the slowest setting and start from a small bit and go up in size. I had all 8 out in about half an hour.

Not done watching but the first thing that came to mind when you traced out the "C" notch was that you traced out the cut out from the inside, save some time and trace the "outside" so you don't have to spend extra time grinding off the excess material. To ensure a snug fit, cut out the material on the inside of the line and it will give you just a bit of material to play with that you can grind down to make it snug.

Hey man. Love the vid helped me out a bit with my install. I’ve had installed for some months now but was curious if you ran into any issues with an excessive bounciness. @@TWAMotorsports aww man lol. I gotcha. I mean all went well With install everything fit. But like I said I just get a super bounce. Like I’m riding on the moon or so. They say to use stock springs in front. But I also see beltec says same with stock was gonna change but could only find lowering springs. I didn’t do the full 5/7 I did 5/5 cause it was always super low in rear but. Just so bouncy. Maybe if I switch all shocks out it’ll change. Not sure. Can’t find much online just thought I’d ask someone with a bit more experience
This is the best how to video on this hands down! I subscribed. I do have a question. For the rear with that 7" drop did you have a issue with the driveshaft hitting the gas tank crossmember?
@@TWAMotorsports awesome! I started with a 2/4 drop on my 05 single cab short bed 5.3. I used DJM springs and hangers and shackles. Now I want to go lower lol. Hey bro, at the end of the video you said you replaced the hanger to fix the chevy lean. But the kit you put in the description doesn't come with hangers. Did you mean the stock shackles, I really need to know this. I just dropped my 00 Silverado 5/8 and it has a nasty Chevy lean. Thanks for the video
Thanks for the great tips! Awesome content man! Also thanks for showing the 6 inch rear drop lol. I was gonna be impatient and drop the rear first because my front springs won't come in for a week. But nevermind that looks ridiculous! Thanks man
Great video, planning on installing this kit on mine soon...is there any reason to be concerned that when the lower ball joint sits on top of control arm, there's alot of upward force on the bolts? As opposed to pushing against the control arm itself like when it's actually in the pocket.
Ihc is hard to get a hold of. I have the 2020 Silverado crew cab with the 3/5 drop and I wish I'd went with the belltech 4/6 that reklez Carrys. Love the channel btw
AWESOME VIDEO!!!! But quick question..... Do you have to use the aluminum spacer for the ball joint?.......And if you do, does that spacer comes with the 16" spindle?

@@TWAMotorsports aww man lol. I gotcha. I mean all went well
With install everything fit.
Yeah I am just not a huge fan of their products. Seems like several have had issues
This is the best how to video on this hands down!
I subscribed.
I do have a question. For the rear with that 7" drop did you have a issue with the driveshaft hitting the gas tank crossmember?
Thank you very much. No issues with the driveshaft hitting at all.
@@TWAMotorsports awesome! I started with a 2/4 drop on my 05 single cab short bed 5.3. I used DJM springs and hangers and shackles. Now I want to go lower lol. So going with the Mcgaughys c-notch and Belltech 3" drop leaf springs. Front I'm going cheap and cutting the springs and running Belltech street performance shocks all around. I live in Massachusetts so just waiting for spring
@@Kevin_Yagoonie I'm not a fan of the drop leafs because of the ride quality. I totally understand the weather things as most of my things are done outside.
@@TWAMotorsports yeah I just don't want to do a flip because I threw out the stock hangers and shakles. So a flip would be way to much a drop. But thanks for the awesome video. I'm enjoying it while I have some drinks seeing how I cant have drinks and work on my truck right now
@@Kevin_Yagoonie lol. I see. Sourcing stock stuff should be easy but most people throw them out
Where did you buy the kit? It’s look s so fire 🔥🔥🔥
Not a kit. Parts listed in video description
Just curious noticed you took rivets out old lca and shaved it down but did you replace the lower arm? If so just curious on where I can find with out ball joint. Unless it came with and you removed. Thanks! Great vid btw. Reallly informative
No I just repainted them.
How much for the kit brothaaa awesome keep up the good work bro
Thank you. I listed all the parts in the description. It's not a kit but parts that I know work well.
wicked youtube channel, you will blow up. Just keep up this quality!
Thank you Kevin.
Hell yeah brother, dig the work you're doing and this video you created using your skills and knowledge. Planning on installing the C-notch kit on a 2009 Silverado any day now. Keep the great project videos coming.
Thank you
Great Job! you are super patience. what was total cost on parts?
Thank you. Probably $1000. All of them are linked in the description
Truck looks awesome. Hard work but well worth it. Great informative video Travis!
Thank you. It took some time that's for sure.
Great video!!! Great job. I’m in the process now of putting a 2/4 drop on my Silverado
Thank you. Good luck on yours
Hey brother. Have the same rear kit on my 02 5.3 RCSB - I’m having driveline vibration from 60-70mph... have you experienced anything similar?? At the shop, hope to catch you seeing this soon.
I haven't but also haven't driven it much
Some use shims but I have never used them. My air bag mounts act as shims though
Hi from Texas and i have the same exact truck! Color and drop is the same and when i found u on here i just had to sub!!!!!
Thank you.
First video ive seen of yours, seen all gm, subbed right away
Thank you. I am for sure a GM guy!
Loving your videos man. Helped me on getting the right parts for my 2000 single cab Silverado. Keep up the good work.
Thank you. Glad I could help
Yes I meant the stock shackle on that side sorry.
Thinking a 3/5 may be a better bet for MN all yr seasonal use and less balancing?! Thanks for the information. Def new sub
Possibly and you're welcome. Thanks for subscribing.
Is flipping the lower balljoint only required with these spindles?
That is correct.
I have been waiting for this. Good job on the video. You covered the install well. I really like that little truck. Looks great!
Thank you Keith
i hate tire kickers they just want to waste your time i feel you brother
Thanks for the great tips! Awesome content man! Also thanks for showing the 6 inch rear drop lol. I was gonna be impatient and drop the rear first because my front springs won't come in for a week. But nevermind that looks ridiculous! Thanks man
Thank you. Glad I could help
That’s what I did 😢 I’m at a 0/6 drop 😅
Hey love your site very educational. Just wanted to see if this drop would work for 20” tires and rims?
These are 20 inch wheels
This may have been asked before but what size rims and tire setup are you running on this drop. Clean truck bro!
Thank you. 245-45-20
Great video, planning on installing this kit on mine soon...is there any reason to be concerned that when the lower ball joint sits on top of control arm, there's alot of upward force on the bolts? As opposed to pushing against the control arm itself like when it's actually in the pocket.
No concern in my opinion. It's on top so most pressure is down
Ihc is hard to get a hold of. I have the 2020 Silverado crew cab with the 3/5 drop and I wish I'd went with the belltech 4/6 that reklez Carrys. Love the channel btw
Thank you. Yeah I am no longer using IHC products.
AWESOME VIDEO!!!!
But quick question.....
Do you have to use the aluminum spacer for the ball joint?.......And if you do, does that spacer comes with the 16" spindle?
Thank you. You do have to use it. Comes with the spindles and keeps the a arm from collapsing when you move the ball joint.
Thank you, and does it comes with every 16” spindle?
@@migue6.078 you're welcome. It does with mcgaughys
TWA Motorsports thank you so much for the help G!!!
@@migue6.078 you're welcome
Im here for the f-body videos, but I have to admit this was pretty cool. Is the ride quality any different than a lowered TA?
Thank you. You can tell its lowered but still rides good. I'm hoping to have some TA content next week.
Awesome vid, only question I have is: my truck has square u bolts.. the company sent a flip kit with round u bolts, I messaged them and they insured round would fit but the kit includes basically everything you had so now I’m kind of worried to install and be stuck any advice?
If the kit was for that truck use what they sent unless they reply different.
