I have got to say first off very nice truck. but the amount of knowledge you have got to know to do all that is insane, rebuild transmissions to motor swaps to rear ends. wish you the best of luck on your next project and good hands man
Wow! Great compilation of the steps from stock to 10 secs Ugly Truck. It took awesome mechanic and fabricator skills to get there along with time management/sharing with your other projects, but you got it there and still running well. Congrats, LT!!! Can't wait to see everything you're going to bring this new year! Merry Christmas!!!
Amazing video! I love the fact that you never gave up & you literally did all the work by yourself. It’s incredible how for true dedication can take you. God bless🙏🏼
Buddy i gotta say, this is quickly becoming my favorite automotive fabrication channel on TH-cam. You seem like such a good dude, youre humble, you laugh at yourself, and the few times you've been mistaken, you admitted it. Keep it up my friend. You're the man.
Hey great video! Just a Suggestion when you’re doing something such as lowering it. can you let us know what you’re putting on/doing to the truck with maybe even a short summary of why you did it?just some of my input!
Really interested in what drop kit you used and all the mods before the engine swap. I’ve got a stock 5.3 in a extended cab that I just wanna have a bit more fun in
Just found your channel and i myself just started a fabrication company to build turbo cars, cages, and everything else that comes with drag and drift cars so im finding your content right on par with what my day to day looks like now. Love the channel man!
Love how the ugly truck was built in a simple manor..really showed what a guy can do in his garage with mostly hand tools and a weld machine..one of my favorite build on youtube rite now..but ive been a fan of LT from way back...
I’m so happy to see you put the interior back where it belongs. When I had my Lightning, I ran so many “street” trucks with no interior panels, ac, radio, etc.
This is the most interesting episode I've ever seen. Way better than the weekend TV shows we grew up to like Powerblock TV. The work he does in his garage is inspiring
This channel shows alot of behind the scenes that lots of channels dont show i personally love that and gives me motivation to start on something myself. This channel will make it big if he keeps this up.
Man, this is the inspiration I needed. I’ve got a 2003 gmc Sonoma. My plan is to get a wrecked corvette, Camaro or trans-am. And put literally everything on it. And get a 4.8 ls and do a massive single turbo and make it the “ sleepin’ sonoma”
I love this build and even more, this whole channel. Your OCD and perfectionism impress me. Good to have when building high quality vehicles! Very cool, keep it up.
dude I watched your vids to figure out what suspension you used to try to find something for my 01’ short bed a whiiiiile ago (or it feels lmao), super glad to see you getting recognition for hard work
What do you think about the coyote platform? There getting 2500hp & 1500+ hp with stock block, stock crank stock heads ..out of a 302 unheard of numbers and rising
Great videos can't wait until next spring. I would have always thought rear wheel was better than 4 wheel because of the more parts more problems. I learned something thanks
I wouldn’t say 4x4 is better as a blanket statement since you are correct a 2wd has its advantages, but I like the advantages a 4x4 provides despite the complexity and added weight
I do very appreciate your review concerning the ULTIMATE Sleeper Silverado. If I could, I'd desire my 2005 Chevy 2500 Suburban with the 8.1, 496cc, be converted to da "turbo-dyno" stage. However, my ride is called "Da Lamb" (aka "Sleeper") when I travel on the long, long, long 4 lane Scenic Highway in Alaska. I have "smoked"some vehicles along the way as well. Keep up the excellent videos and you and the crew as well. Da Lamb mostly help folk out of massive snow banks/ditches they get themselves into during the slow winter months. Nothing beats my 4x4 Hi-Low, with plenty of torque. Big Monster Block; Her We Come! 🙂
I still miss seeing youbon the show. Idk what happened but thats how i know who you are man. Either way big props. I salute what youre doin. And inspiring others to get out there and wrench. Look what happened to our country. We need folks like LT!!!
You're a great builder! Great video on the truck from start to finish! What do you do for a living? Love the work on the turbo! Nothing bought everything hand made! Can't wait to see the next 2.0!
Awesome video! Would love to have a toy like that 😁. Right now all i have is a little, stock 4.8L...too busy working on 18-wheelers to do anything to it right now. Keep up the good work!
That dude has come a long way bro!! Can't believe you didn't say it was done and build another ugly truck awd with the new motor and start completely fresh.
Wow man, such knowledges! You’ve done pretty much everything i’ve dreamed about, mechanically talking! But still, i need a youtube video to change my brakes 😂 cheers man!
Currently have a 2005 extended cab 2wd pickup. Really considering 80e swap, could I technically get the 60e/80e harness ,2wd 80e , Crossmember,converter,2500 ext. Cab 2wd Driveshaft ??
If you spent 3 grand you should have went with a 99-06 single cab shortbed would have knocked atleast another second off you're time. Those extended cabs are frickin boats.
Yea your actually 100% right, I looked just to verify and was shocked.. just the rear seats doors frame all that to extend the cab is an extra 1000lbs😮.. that’s not even accounting for the bed which has to be another 500-1000 because it ain’t just the bed it’s the frame, longer exhaust, wiring, all that.. wow I’m kinda blown away actually
Maybe if you completely gutted the back seats, and installed a short bed? I’d like to know what the weight is purely of the cab being extended like the body of the cab and the frame rail.. but shit all that work you might as well if gone single cab in the beginning
No bullshit this actually helped me out a ton I want to do a truck build this winter and I already have a very clean quad cab so I was just going to use it even though I want a single, just to save money., but yea no not now 😂😂
@@JaxonPro-y9e shoot glad I could help. I'll let you in on another little hint. 99-06 chevy 1500 short beds aren't to cheap BUT the long bed versions are way cheaper more available and they make kits online to cut and shorten the frame to make it a short bed. It's surprisingly easy there's actually pockets on the frame that you can cut into and the rear frame slides into it to make a short bed it's like chevy knew!! haha
Anyone that thinks a bigblock Chevy is weak has some kind of cognitive dissonance. It was built to be Chevys most heavy duty engine from day one. The MK4 came directly from a NASCAR engine built to smoke everybody on the track back in 1963. Hit the street in 1965 as a 396 425hp Vette engine. 427 came in 66. L-88s came along in 67 thru 69 and a well tuned L-88 with headers could make 560-580hp stock. Could even find 427s in big ass dump trucks and 454s in giant RVs. Bigblock Chevys set the bar for which all others try to compete with. Definitely the best engine ever built by any company. It's hard to not make power with a properly set up bigblock Chevy. Back in the day I tried to compete against them with other brand engines, it was always the big Rats that dominated the scene. So I started using them myself. If ya want to go real fast, build a bigblock Chevy. Easiest power one can build.
Awesome build just wondering why didn't you go with the 6.0 V8 my Chevy Silverado 2500 HD has the 6.0 regular cab short bed 2 wheel drive she is a beast only thing I have done is Cold Air Intake and Dual Exhaust
I own a stock gmc very similar to this truck and I gotta say this is nuts.... also good editing and proof these engines in those years were built top notch

03:26 You did just say 8.1L big block? Do you understand what happens, if you also change the transmission to match a light build that has not to carry a lot appropriatly to the torque of an air carrier? You'll find jump space on the street, if you hit the paddle to the metal...otherwise keeping the factory transmission set up you can move your home to another spot, slow but steady. #cyberpunkcoltoure
This is like seeing pictures and movies from when your kids were small and just letting the tears go. When did ugly truck grow up?? This makes me so sad.
