Sorry this video is late guys! It took longer than expected due to real life commitments I have at the moment. I'm still working on a video for the other trailer we got, but hopefully that will be out soon.
At this year's San Diego Comic-Con the first episode of the 13 episode long Voltron: Legendary Defender season 7 premiered! Along with this came two new trailers. One you can view on DreamWorks' TH-cam channel, the other I discuss in this video.
Voltron's Lions are low on power. Coran suggests going to find a Yelmore which can help recharge the Lions quicker. But that's only a temporary solution. The Lions will run low on power after another few battles. What charged the Lions before was the Castle of Lions. Luckily the Paladins have the crystal the castle left behind which they can use to power up Voltron. Shiro's got a new arm that looks more similar to the cyborg arms Sendak has had. The Generals' looks completely changed! Acxa's hair is longer, one of Zethrid's pupils is gone, and they all got new uniforms. Either because of a time-skip, they changed sides, or the Generals we see in the trailer are from an alternate reality? And finally Earth is under attack by the supposed new Emperor of the Galra Empire - Sendak! Galaxy Garrison cadets, including Keith's old rival, James Griffin (not Lance, although he and Hunk were there too) step up to fight them.

Fictional Crystals it’s fine, The wait was worth it
Fictional Crystals Hey Crystals! I wanted to bring up some info on that scene with the Black lion hovering over Keith, it could be Lance possibly. Like you said that the others had to develop into their roles, Lance is also another candidate. I saw from the last season and in S5, Lance had moments of ordering and taking the leader role for only a few moments. I believe he is going to fly the Black Lion once, from a accidental hint from Bex and how he is growing more into the leader role.
How do you think Lotor will return? There's a pic of his VA recording from late 2017 which means he'll show up either this season or 8.
Princess Amethyst hmm.... very interesting theory, I still think that Keith may have called black over or maybe like you said Black Paladin Lance could be a thing, but still Keith has developed so much during this season. And I think now he and Black have a very strong bond. But we will see my friend.

Regarding what you said at about 5 minutes 40, it’s impossible for Shiro to pilot black!! Lauren confirmed in an interview with Screen Rant that when Allura restores Shiro’s life into a new body from the black lion, it removes all of Shiro’s essence from the lion and thus he can no longer pilot it! Love the video either way though 💖
KaoruSan241 I don't believe that. Remember when LM said Allura was not gonna be a paladin because she wasn't paladin material. Then in season 3 she became a paladin. Also they lied about Keith not being galra when fans asked and he was half galra the whole time. Shiro will return as black paladin for many reasons. Shiro hasn't used his Bayard yet in terms of a weapon and for voltron (besides the season 2 finale). Also only shiro could activate the blazing sword (he did it in the season 2 finale and with keith in the season 6 finale as he was in black the whole time). Shiros link with black can't be broken that fast by allura without no explanation behind it. He has the strongest bond out of all the paladin. I feel like they are baiting us. Shiro will return as black paladin but after he gets his self together again. He's been through death and survived so he needs time.

Rạf I don’t know, I think you should read the article first before you jump to discredit me! The way she turned to Joaquim to say “are we going to reveal that?” Before talking makes me think it’s legitimate, rather than things they’ve lied about such as Pidge’s gender, Shiro’s clones, Keith’s heritage etc. I know they’re untrustworthy but this particular interview felt very much like an official confirmation and Shiro’s paladin arc feels very much at a close. Just my interpretation though so I understand if you don’t agree with me, and the video is fantastic either way!

I don’t think it’s Shiro that’s piloting Black, because JDS and Lauren said he no longer has a link with Black; ever since Allura took his soul out of the Black Lion.
Also this season basically is confirmed to have more backstory on Lance because his book is coming out on August 28th (along with Keith’s) and the description says:
“Get to know Lance, in his own words-from his days growing up in Cuba, to his time as a pilot at Galaxy Garrison, to his adventures as a Paladin! How did Lance get to be known as “the Tailor” and what does it have to do with Hunk? What's the very first thing he would do if he was back on Earth? And how does he really feel about Princess Allura?”
Hunk and Allura’s book come out on December 11th, meaning season 8 will probably be in November!

I wonder if as a throwback to 80s Voltron, given that Blue is the most welcoming of new Paladins, they might have a part where Allura is incapacitated or preoccupied with something and they might have Shiro temporarily fly Blue like his old counterpart Sven originally did
From the trailer, it looks like Shiro is just going to be hanging out in Pidge's Lion. I doubt he's going to fly one, but I am probably completely wrong.
I remember seeing somewhere there was some official art with Shiro and a lion's silhouette in the background which was in the Blue Lion's pose, so that could happen!
One of Ezor's legs in the trailer has a different color scheme from the rest of the outfit. Maybe it's a prosthetic.

#Blacktashi , and people seem to forget why Adam and Shiro broke up in the first place. After everything Shiro’s still enamored with the stars/new experiences/JUST got reunited with his friends (and, were was Adam when he crashed outside the Garrison?) ...and now he doesn’t have a body (or arm) that’s slowly killing him or threatening his freewill. There is literally no reason for him to “retire”, especially since we’ve seen how deeply he and BlackLion are connected (BlackLion flew to Shiro’s defense in s1 in e3; and all “odd behavior” (like ejecting him out/borrowing Keith) was to protect him. Unconventional, but that’s what was going on (and Red couldn’t save Keith from splattering the canyon floor in that episode, either?) Actually? The only Lion who hasn’t solo-rescued their paladin yet is Blue)
If lance pilots the black lion.....thats LITERALLY going to cure a third of the depression we all gonna get from watching season 7
If klance becomes cannon thats gonna cure another third.

JustAnotherGoldfish I can assure you klance will probably become canon :) maybe not this season though, as with korrasami they didn’t become canon until the very end. Just be patient and watch the show :3 and I’m going to agree I’ll be sad if we don’t see klance this season but I think they will have some interactions whether rivals, platonic or beginning of romantic :)
Agreed, I also think if Klance ever gets canon, it won't happen in S7. S7 is only the first half of the final arc, there's still S8. Also, there's still Allura. I love Lance, I like Allura a lot, but I'm highkey afraid of what they'll do with them.

I was surprised at first when you didn't talk about all the other things from SDCC, but yeah, it's good to put that into a seperate video.
Regarding Shiro and Black - true, LM said he doesn't have a connection anymore, and bringing him back as main BP would make the whole thing with Keith's development ... not completely unnecessary, but a bit.
BUT on a general note - there were so many things the whole crew including voice actors and showrunners lied about in the past because it's spoiler territory, you should never take their answers too seriously.
Can't wait to see that superweapon, to be honest ... it's going to be terrifying.
I too think Lotor comes back, this isn't over. He's (still?) able to mess with Allura's feelings a lot. Also, his "end" felt kinda rushed, to ME at least.

Shiro's connection w/ Black has already severed. He's not flying it again. The creators confirmed it. Now his arc is about discovering what he can do besides being a Paladin.

Thank you for referring to the old series. Lots of videos and commentary ignore the old series. It is vitally important to know the old series to understand the current one. It’s amazing how many people miss that.

So, the Garrison kids shown are from flashbacks, in the "present day" James and others would be around the same age as Lance and Hunk (Keith now is older by two years due to his adventure with Krolia). Can't wait to see them and "Atlas", they might be this version of 'Vehicle Voltron'.

In the second episode of season 6, Keith been seeing Krolia's past due of the abyss strange power. But while he seen her past, I notices that yellow quintessence was there. And, it's the same quintessence field that Voltron was in near the of The Legend Begins. Which made me, how? And, what does that mean?
YES! I couldn't be sure due to the bad quality I've seen of the trailer on line, but thanks for confirming Acxa's hair is longer! I also wasn't sure if it was Acxa's voice in the other trailer, nice to have others thinking this as well. I did not notice the new uniforms for Lotor's ex-generals, guess we'll have to see what faction the Galra ladies are in this season.

For some reason, i cant help but feel that the galra Keith is fighting with in the trailer is a corrupted/controlled blade of Marmora member, considering their swords are somewhat similar, he has the markings that we've typically seen on BoM members, and, in one shot, there was a small group of Blades surrounded by druids...

Just a theory.. If Shiro's consciousness was in the black lion why did it go to find the clone Shiro in season three?
It bothered me as well and for a while, I actually thought that the shaggy Shiro in season 3 was the real thing (at least until he showed up on the bridge with a headache). That's when things started to seem a little off about him. Maybe both the Black Lion and Shiro's spirit were still adjusting to the new circumstances. I hope this gets explained at some point but I doubt it, since this is never mentioned.

I hope not. They could just have had Shiro/Kuron catch up with Voltron, if all they needed was for him to re-join the team. I'm still hoping this gets explained at some point. Maybe Keith will ask Shiro. Who knows (they still haven't explained how Narty ended up with Haggar/Honerva's cat). There are still some gaps to be filled and I hope they won't forget them before the series comes to an end.
When it comes out on DVD, I am planning to get it. I already have seasons 1to6.

One more season (season 8) to go before the series wraps up when the year ends. It’s for the best though after all that angst and discourse especially from fandom being written all over it. I’ve seen enough of it and I’m very happy that the show will finally end. Most of all, it had a good run though. Bring on 2019!

I wonder how long it would take someone in the comments to state if 80's Voltron had a crystal like that or not. I get the feeling some might already be looking for it.
I haven't seen all of 80's Voltron, just the episodes that aired on Cartoon Network back in the day, and I don't fully remember them. I had no recollection of the episode where Lotor killed "Allura" in a way he could revive her later, but found it on Netflix when the cast were showing their favorite episodes. I do remember when someone tried to steal the blue lion, only for it to refuse to work even with the key, I just didn't remember it very well.
Ok but didn’t the paladins age not change their last birthdays? And I thought that their birthdays matched up with real life like Shiro being born on a leap day so couldn’t that mean they are preparing for a time skip?
They actually never mention the paladins' ages in the show. They were only confirmed in the paladin handbook back around Season 2. While Voltron makes posts and stuff celebrating the paladins' birthdays, they never say how old they're turning. The only one we know is older is Keith, cause of his space whale adventure. So I'm wondering if they'll like return to Earth and the Garrison or whoever will be like "oh you're back! You've been gone for over two years!" or something and the paladins will all be like tWO YEARS??!
laeliaan I think it may not be 2 years only since time in space works really differently. They could have been gone for more than 10 earth years. But since they need that Lance arc the writers will probably say its been 3 or 4 years
