Voltron: Legendary Defender's final season is quickly approaching! Season 8 will come out December 14. At New York Comic Con this year a trailer for season 8 was shown, along with that came a couple of pictures from the season. The mystery Altean mecha pilot from the end of Voltron season 7 will lead Team Voltron on a hunt for Honerva. Honerva has taken Princess Allura's crown and is now the leader of the Alteans. They're willingly serving her because of the promises she made them and how she saved them from the colony by taking them to Oriande. We're going to be getting quite a few flashbacks to young Honerva... and Lotor's life. Finding out about Lotor's past will make Allura question if she judged him too quickly. Prince Lotor is definitely returning this season! Not only is he in a scene with Allura in the trailer, but his Sincline beast is with Honerva's massive dragon beast (could my Monsters and Mana theory be correct?!). Let's not forget that the Paladins are all going to be getting new outfits from the Galaxy Garrison... Pidge even gets her brother from Voltron: Defender of the Universe back; Chip! Oh, and Zethrid (thankfully) didn't die.

Fictional Crystals, I'm not sure of this but I noticed, like you, that the Galra family on the NYCC poster has different outfits and I thought they are from the alternate reality. Because if there is baby Lotor, Zarkon and Honerva should be like corrupted. What do you think of this? (But I hope they are from some flashback because I want to see young Sendak of the Voltron reality XD)
Probably is because is the last season so they are trying to be extra careful? But yeah, Voltron had some serious problems with leaks in the past so I'm not impressed with their action tbh.
@Fictional Crystals Now, here is where I'm confused about: Why would Haggar want to return to her true form of Honerva way after she was exposed to Quintessence and became crazy? I mean, is it to atone for what she did as Haggar or is it something else?

It must've been quite frustrating to get your video taken down, even losing my long comment on your last video felt bad for me.
So ,I'm so glad Honerva is the final villain. I absolutely love what they did to her character- starting off as a boring cliché witch character, into a tragic anti hero.
I loved the Lotor exposed to quintessence in her womb thing. They can do amazing writing on this show!
Also, unlike the improvised Korra storylines(as they were only planning one season) this actually feels like a proper nice long arc.
I love Honerva's new headpiece , her saving the colony alteans is exciting.
I know people were complaining that the alternate universe thing wasn't brought up again, but if it's part of s8, it will open up amazing possibilities.
I was against a Lotor redemption arc, but who knows what romelle got right and what the writer's have in mind. We know he will be back in some form.ANd Bex's new tweet with the purple heart - and Allura looking back, I think Lotor is there.
I think most of the fans liked the way Allura and Lotor's relationship was built up, so I'm pretty convinced the Allura randomly blushing to Lance is a red herring.
I hope we will see the rift creatures. HOnerva trying to bring back Altea is an amazing idea. You caught many things in the trailer I didn't so it almost feels like huge spoilers.
The ALlura has to fight for her right for the true ruler of Alteans is a really great idea- catch! I love it.
Good to see not much focus was on the new cadets, I worried they will just give up on our main characters and set up spin offs with the last season, not closing plotlines. That was a baseless fear fortunately.
I'M not sure how to feel about the Chip puppet cameo. Feels out of place.
Also ,speaking of endgames, looks like the lovers stuck in the elevator in the dark trope ,through the cradling and many season long arc will indeed and up with Keith and Lance, so the majority will be happy. So excited about that.
They did it very cleverly. NOt in your face yet beautiful.
PLus, Jeremy said the thing he brought from the Castle ship is a spoiler, so do you think it's Keith's gloves?

I wasn't a big fan of LOtor's generals at all. Couldn't even remember her names until last season.
NIce to see ALlura and Pidge interacting again, though we kinda had enough of PIdge and the Holt family storylines.
I hope we will hear Lance's family speak.His father had no lines at all.I hoped season 7 will be Lance's big arc, but at least now it will be season 8, so he will get the most intense end season!
Good questions about Oriande. It would be nice to hear more about it, and get some answers. I think the Voltron universe would definitely need more world building.
Do you think if Keith is trapped on the astral plane, will Lance fight with him-for him? We still haven't seen his big new altean broadsword. I think it will be a big final significance.
The massive mecha looks amazing. Voltron was a bit...out dated , the whole colourful lion boytoy design is a bit retro. I felt it 20 years ago as a kid as well.
But adding these new designs is great.
Everything looks good. Hope there won't be too much dragged out cgi fight. Fortunately the creators just said it will be intimate , character driven, that's good! Every interview was pretty encouraging recently!

I think that the reason pidge drops to her knees is because the tree are dead. Herlion is the guardian of the forest, right? Well, pudge is connected to the lion as well. So because the forest is dead, she doesn't feel as strong as usual. It's like what lance said in The Depths. His lion work well in its element. So when it the element is dying or is in a weaker state, then the paladins and lions are not at full strength.
That poster made me teary eyed~ like seeing everyone in that poster got me in the feels!😍😭

At this point any expected relationship would be bad.
Honestly, Allurance was so forced in my opinion, Allura only began having romantic feelings for Lance once Lotor was gone. She never showed anything other than annoyance whenever Lance flirted with her, and I feel like she’s simply using Lance as a replacement for Lotor.
Anyway, ignoring all of that romance drama, I’m really excited for Season Eight.
raiha amjad Agreed. I would prefer they don’t use the love triangle trope. I think a ship can happen if it will add something in the storytelling, and (no offense to the shippers) Allurance have nothing to do with the storytelling. Nobody should have a endgame in this point, but I really can see how Lotor and Allura relationship is important in storytelling terms.

Honestly I don't see the lotor/allura/lance love triangle being a thing this final season. I'm guessing lotor showing up behind allura in the trailer is him using some kind of mind games on her with quintessance.
Man, I'm so hyped for S8😍😍!! And, I'm very relieved it's coming out on December 14th because my national exam will end shortly before the date. (Thank goodness it's not during the exam, otherwise, I would've been screwed 😩😂😂)

Is it just me or is Zarkon similar to Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader? I mean he went against his freinds/order to save his wife and unborn child by acessing Darker Powers but they end up becoming courrupted and doing terrible things and killing those they care about. Anybody else see this??
Honerva/Zarkon was supposed to bring balance to force. Zarkon a emperor and Honerva an Altean alchemist. The best one at that. But now we have Keith a Half Galra Black Lion Paladin and An Altean Alchemist Princess. The Jedi. I somehow don't see Lance in this... Except when he said "Keith is our leader and half Galra, so he's like the future." I know that K/L will have my head for this but... I SAID WHAT I SAID.

Lotor is an awesome character and he’s one of my favorites, but he definitely did do a lot of things wrong. I know you might be making the argument “You have to do bad things for the greater good” but he still did very bad things. Just because his intentions were pure doesn’t mean his actions are justified. Just my take on it.

I just wanted to say that, don’t your find a little bit suspicious that the trailer shows all the paladins fighting in the (astralplace?) except Keith, cuz the did something like that in season 6 in the trailer they show a little bit of the final battle of the season but the didn’t show who was piloting the black lion because in that moment it was Keith after fighting Shiro, but we all asume it was shiro (or at least some of us) cuz they edit the trailer to make it look like it was shiro the one piloting the black lion , sooo maybe they are doing something like that? Or maybe I’m just over thinking stuff
Honerva is a great character and I hope all the Voltron Team make it to the end of the series. It feels like it'll be a bittersweet final season but It'll be worth it.

I can't believe I didn't see this sooner. I saw "Lotor is back" and I typed "Voltron season eight" so fucking fast to see if any of this was true. I was actually impressed with my fast typing talents, there were no mistakes. I ended up coming back here, but shit I am excited for season 8.

Sadly, he is dead because you see Keith and Krolia at the gravestone of Keith's dad, mourning. This was at the end of season 7. He would be a zombie if they brought back to life unless they go back in time and save him from dying.

Maybe Honerva/Haggar went through postmortem depression? She probably felt a deep regret for something (not being able to find more information regarding quintessence maybe?) and took it out on her son? She does show some of the signs.

I’m honestly scared to watch season 8 because of the whole “allurance” ship. Like if that happens it’s gonna ruin everything for me. Don’t get me wrong, if you wanna ship allurance go for it. I just personally think that it’s a “cop out” ship🤷♀️ imma have my friend watch it before me and tell me what ship happens,and if allurance happens imma just skip half of the scenes with them together.
Imagine having to watch them kiss.. ugh. But the hero ALWAYS gets the girl if he wants her. Regardless of whether or not she still likes someone else.
The worst part is that I actually could have really liked them together, if she hadn't pushed him away so much, and kissed Lotor even knowing that Lance liked her. Female characters being given the same amount of development as men is really important to me.
Don't do that. I say watch season 8 yourself with a clear mind. Don't let allurance stop you from enjoying the last season if it does become Canon. Also in my opinion I dont think it will happen. Something in my gut says lance will move on, and Allura seems to be going through a lot with Lotor coming back (if he is alive).
Yeah, I’ve had a theory that Allura and Lance will almost kiss and end up together, but just as they’re leaning in, Allura sees Lotor’s face so she takes a step back. She says something Allure-y “Lonce, we can’t do this to ourselves.” Ya know? Something like that and they both move on with different people (whoever you hope that may be) But they still remain awesome friends because I love their friendship.

I am going to have to disagree with you. Lotor sacrificed at most 330 Alteans to try an end an ongoing genocide of civilizations and trillions of lives. That's the worst possible interpretation of what he did and it's well in line with the sacrifices people we solidly regard as heros have had to make throughout human history. For example Winston Churchill sunk the French fleet, killing upwards of 1200 of his own ally's sailors to stop the Germans from getting their hands on their ships. Lotor was put in a position to make a horrific choice and he did. Very similar to him killing Narti.
Also his choice was nothing like Honervas'. Honerva has been consistently selfish and myopic. Did she sacrifice anyone to try and prevent a larger loss of life?
We still don't know how many Alteans he ''sacrificed'',why and if the whole story is true. I still think that there is more to tell. They were shaping his character for so fucking long, when Pidge didn't even get any character development. If they won't fix him in the upcoming season, then it's just bad writing.

Is Voltron good? I watched the first season but stoped watching it cuz Yaoi and Tumblr was a horrible thing.
Voltron is amazing. So far none of the Tumblr ships have become canon (if that's what you're afraid of).
The show is good, very nerdy and creative, but lots of the fandom radiates some toxic energy
Jayden Cordero Oh yeah the show is really entertaining, it has its flaws on the writing sometimes, but overall is really good if you like sci-fi, cool animation, epic soundtrack and lots of cliffhangers and mystery
I mean, the show is really good. Even with it's ups and downs, s6 is by far the BEST season. If you're not into shipping, or keep your distance from that side of the fandom, the fandom itself is incredible. But as soon as you talk ships... a storm is summoned.
