- Voltron: Legendary Defender Season 8 comes out in about a week! This is the final season of VLD ever. Another trailer for season 8 came out, and although half of it is just clips from previous seasons, it still revealed a lot to us about what to expect in season 8. Allura and Lance are going to go on a date fairly early on in the season. I believe that they will become a couple, however they will not be endgame. Endgame couples never get together that early on in shows. Allura's going to have to sacrifice herself to save the universe. It's been hinted at for a very long time in the show. She has the power to create, while Honerva has the power to destroy. Allura is a life giver, after all. The Paladins are going to meet the Paladins of Old. Honerva is messing with time, which will bring the Paladins of Old back. Finally, Keith is going to fight Zethrid on a volcanic planet.

My point was that most shows have an end, either plotwise or because they were cancelled, It's just that Shows like Voltron feel like they're ending faster because u can watch the entire show on Netflix. You can already see how differently fans treat an in-progress show today compared to an ended show/completed show. Voltron's not going away it's plot's just coming to a close.

I’m still hoping Allura and Lance don’t end up together 👏 she only JUST started showing affection towards him and all she’s done is made him suffer and not acknowledge it. I may be a Klance shipper but I’d rather Lance get with ANYONE that makes sense, which isn’t Allura. Yeah but if you listen what Fictional Crystals say "they don't show the final couple in the beggining" and "Allura will sacrife herself to save all existence" so Allura won't be Lance's endgame, maybe they'll be a couple in the start of this season 8 but i think they will break up so soon or Allura gonna say goodbye to Lance, because they can't be together. So that means she's not his endgame, so that means Lance's endgame is not a rebound. I really believe that Lance endgame is someone else.
If Allura and Lance do become something it will only be for a short while. Lance will realize she's not who he needs and he'll either be with Keith or Pidge. tbh.

Someone from the crew said that the ending is going to be "open for interpretation". What if they dont really confirm that allura is dead, therefore leaving the ending "open" because we dont know if she is dead or not?
Lauren said that they made the ending so that no one can continue voltron as a new show from it, so it wont be "open"

The creators confirmed that the final scene meant that they are a couple now (standing in the same pose as Varrick and his wife on their wedding + Color of bi flag). They werent allowed to Show more explicid affection between two women. But time changes and netflix isnt nickelodeon and so i believe we are going to see a kiss between Lance and Keith.
And i like it that Lance is having a Date with Allura so he can find out what he really feels (or for whom) + that it was his choice, so that it wont look like: well he didnt get the girl? So here take a guy. No, that would be a horrible Message. He needs to figure out his true feelings and that they are okay, regardless of whether he is in Love with a woman or a man.
I at least hope we get a scene of lance and Keith holding hands or them hugging. That would be enough for me☺️

y'know what's funny? I see Klance shippers saying they don't want Allurance to be a thing because then Lance will just be Allura's "rebound", but they're perfectly fine with Allurance being temporary, Allura dying, and Lance using Keith as a rebound.
Ikr. I literally just started watching this show a month ago and the Klance shippers have successfully annoyed me more than any annoying part of other fandoms I've been in.
a lot of us no longer feel that way after seeing s7. :( unfortunately, whether they make lance's endgame allura or keith, by now they'll both be written badly. i'm a huge klance shipper but i would honestly prefer he end up with no one in canon because i don't see how they could redeem what they've already done with him in terms of his romance plot. it's really salvageable at this point, no matter who he ends up with.

OK ok ok ok ok ok. So. I think that Allura DYING is a bit extreme, I mean we saw Lance come back to life, maybe the alteans will see her give her life to save them and revive her, ya know? Also I don't want Allura to die I actually love her. About Allurance, I mean I don't want it to be endgame (Klance all the way boiis) but if Lance doesn't end up with Allura, who realistically would he end up with. But hey, any Klancers with some Klance endgame theories hit me up
i dont really care at this point for who ends up with who but if its allura and lance ill lose all my respect for this series and production team. they basically told us that it would be bad if they ended up together before season 7 yet in season 7 they hinted at them even more than ever. tbh im not looking forward to this season, they always say something and then do exactly the opposite, its not about making peoples ships happy, its about actually having a decent story and character development
what I hope happens is that when Allurance happens (even if I don't like it's being set up) Lance breaks up w/ her because "he is worth more then that and it's screwed up that she would get together so she could feel wanted" it would solve his character ark
actually, this is not the voltron crew fault. There is a lot of information about that, it was actually Dreamworks who forced them to change their story, because they did not like their LGBT representation. For example, they did not want to kill adam so fast, they wanted Shiro and Adam to meet each other again but dreamworks was agaist it. So basically, from the season 7 we do not have the real story, just some forced poo. And its really sad, season 7 was totally illogical and bad because someone has a problem.
The production crew has been very good at bait and switches throughout the entire series. DreamWorks also forced them to change multiple things. However, as it's the last season, they don't have to fear; DreamWorks can't do anything about changing their representation in the last season. Here's how I believe it'll happen.
Lance does still love Allura, but he's willing to move on. Veronica sets him up for a date with Allura, which they both go to. They talk it out and discuss things, but Allura doesn't see Lance as a boyfriend yet. During the season, Allura sacrifices herself, and Lance is heartbroken. He gets comforted by the other paladins, and eventually, he moves on, knowing she's in a better place doing better things. He starts dating one of the other paladins; likely Keith, due to his words in Season 7: "He's the future.", which heavily imply Lance wants to stay with Keith through thick and thin, whether or not they stay as friends or progress to something more personal.
I believe the season will start with some Allurance, but likely end with Klance. They've been slowburning since the first season, and as DreamWorks won't be able to mess around with their LGBTQ rep in the last season, it's a very likely possibility; more likely than Plance and Hance.
If Allrua dies I'm done. I love her and yes I ship klance but if allurance endgame means she lives that's better. Let's all remember they wanted to KILL shiro for good in season 2 that's not good rep its lazy. The showrunners are at fault for the lbgt rep

Maybe it's foreshadowing her death along with the return of her father through time travel unless her father doesn't appear through time travel.

Most people don’t ship allurance and don’t think it will happen but just think about it... if it does happen I guess it’s kind of a good thing. Not only does it make lance happy but it also gives him the chance to express his feelings and see if he really meant everything he said about allura to the mice. And if he doesn’t feel the “love vibe” then I guess he’ll be able to call it off or something? (I don’t want this to sound rude) And dating allura will also give him the chance to find out who he really is. Everyone is theorizing that he’s bisexual and this could be a chance for him to find out! Allurance and klance are NOT toxic. It’s just those particular people who make it toxic and make other people feel ashamed. Plus! For those klance shippers, Lauren and the producers or something, said that there would be a surprise at the end of season 8! And tell me this. Why would they spoil the “endgame” in the trailer. That just doesn’t make sense. Sure I think that we will get allurance but maybe it won’t be end game because it’s an opportunity for lance to realize who he really is. And if allurance is end game, please don’t give the Voltron crew any shit. They don’t deserve that! They all worked very hard on this production and I’m grateful for it. Just be glad that lance is happy if allurance is canon. Throughout the show he has been so down on himself. I just want to see my baby lion happy! But that does also connect us back to klance. Lance is never really “himself” around allura. He just tries to be this cool dude who “has” so much confidence. But in reality, us, the fandom, know it’s fake. When Keith left, you could tell lance was pretty upset but when Keith came back, who was the first one to walk up to him? That’s right! It was lance! In my opinion I think lance feels he can be more himself around Keith. And the whole rivalry thing with Keith was just lances way of flirting but didn’t want to make it too obvious. But again I don’t want to get my hopes up so please don’t give me hate. I don’t care who lance ends up with. Just as long as he’s happy!

Tbh I would rather have Lance not date anyone than for him to date Allura. The voltron team is taking a huge risk of losing fans if they make allurance canon in s8
I personally don’t want Klance to happen at all. Their dynamic in my opinion is that of rivals, that buttheads due to their own goals or ambitions. For me a rivalry turned into a healthy strong friendship is really powerful by itself.

After s7 ep10 I stopped watching. I was annoyed by the writing and the shit made me tired. I got no choice but to finish the last 3 episodes and watch the damn trailer.

I get the thoughts and evidence that Allurance will be endgame, but that just isn't the case. Allura does NOT have a canon endgame, meaning her and Lance can't be a thing. But Lance does. We know that it will be one of the main characters and be someone "he needs, not particularly wants" or that's what I've heard. By process of elimination, I believe Klance will be canon. This theory is proven further when we look at the said episode in season 8, "The Red Paladins". This will most likely mirror the episode "Balck Paladins" during which, Keith and Shiro, the black paladins, have a fight ending with Keith saying "You're my brother, I love you." In the season 8 episode, Keith and Lance will have a fight. As it is mirroring Shiro and Keith's, Lance will more than likely use his love confession in an attempt to reason with him and express his true feelings. This is mostly speculation, but I truly believe that this will at least somewhat happen. It really makes the most sense.

I understand and totally agree. As as a multi shipper who ships klance, I honestly don't mind if klance doesn't become cannon. Sure I may be a little disheartened but as long as the season 8 has a good plot and is exacuted well then I'll be happy. No offense to anyone who ships Allurance, but it kinda sends a bad message to kids. “Oh if you flirt with someone and they say no multiple times, just keep trying- they’ll say yes eventually.” Nothing against Allura or Lance but I don’t think they’d be a good couple. Lance’s whole arc is about being someone’s #1 choice and he wasn’t Allura’s.

@@graciegtran I mean I won't spoil. But, Klance isn't canon or if it is they didn't show it. However, the end credits give us several clips which we can work with so, any ship could happen really if one has imagination. I am waiting for people to see the same logic so they can write fanfiction about post-Voltron because oh lord I need some. I'd write it myself, but I'm currently working on a non voltron related project.

Watching the trailer actually had me a little-misty eyed and I generally haven't shed that many tears while watching Voltron. It's been a wild 2 years, but I'm glad I had this amazing show to occupy my time.
I like the way you spun the "Allura sacrifices herself", since many just end it at her sacrifice, and put it in a way where she just watches over her people on a different plane of existence (possibly). I really like Allura as a character, and to have this much build up only to kill her off in the end seems like not only a waste of her as a character but a betrayal to the audience. My only death predictions are Honerva and possibly Lotor or Matt, but after that, I'm certain everyone in Team Voltron is coming out alive (they already axed Shiro off twice, a third time isn't gonna get much of a reaction out of me.)
Can't wait to see more of your breakdowns and analysis on VLD before it all ends.

I hope there is. I think it would contain a fight between Lance and a manipulated Keith by Haggar. Similar to the fight of Zarkon and Alfor but this Time with a good/positive ending. Lance confessing his Love for Keith what will help him to resist Haggar (compare to Shiros and Keiths Fight). Heartbreaking
