I like the second one better. Edith is over annunciating the lyrics here. I believe people didn’t understand “Lasalle ran great” in the first two versions.

The funniest thing about the whole show to ME growing up when this was on the air was that my grandparents LOOKED JUST LIKE THEM!!!! Imagine as a little kid seeing your grandparents being THAT hilarious!!!!
this was when TV was true and fun for the whole family. used common sense back then i miss this show the actors and actresses. this can not ever be replaced never take what you had as a child for granted for you will not see this again

My parents loved this show when I was a child. My favorite episode was when George Jefferson came by to visit, pulled out a sub machine gun, and blasted Rob Reiner's buttery, fat, meathead brains all over the carpet. Wait. I'm sorry. That's just a beautiful dream I have now and again.

In the earlier seasons, Edith had to wear glasses to play the piano intro, however, later seasons didn't have her wearing them.

The glasses were just a prop, according to Rita Riggs, costume designer. Guess they decided to not have them in this remake.
