There are fields here at my home place that are set up to graze. Many of the crop fields have no fence or water on other farms. It is sometimes late fall to early winter before we get it planted after the crops come off so there is no growth to graze in the fall. In the spring it grows very quickly and once it shoots the head out livestock don't really eat it much. So very short window to graze unless you can plant it in early Sept.
Do you graze the rye?
