Drill 2 holes and thread them to attach bung to cylinder head with bolts and a proper paper/rubber gasket. Seal around bung inside the head to prevent any oil from leaking through bung hole to outside of head.
Just get the GTE OEM OIL PUMP AND CRANK trigger. I am thinking of converting my gte crank trigger to the VVTI crankshaft trigger. I have both blocks and I just did this to my ge while the GTE WAS IN THE CAR

@@HAHAHHA97 VVTI GEs had weaker rods and pistons, just swap them out for GTE rods and pistons and you'll be good. There are other things to take into consideration (turbo drain/feed etc) as more people get interested in NA-T conversons there are better. Aftermarket products being developed for example, a few persons have developed adapters that would allow you to use an OEM GTE intake manifold on a GE.

@@Bman2393 gte headgasket and forged internals man. Gte headgasket raises it up enough. They are thicker but the head flows fine. Read somewhere ge head has either bigger intake or exhaust ports and gte has the opposite, but thats forum info, not technical data.

Someone had probably already said it.. but there’s also the option of keeping your distributior and tossin on a cap if you go cop. Not as “pretty” but your ol distributor CAN act like a cam angle sensor.
Wouldn't you get excessive oil pressure build up using a gte oil pump on a ge block? Leaking from the main seals either front or rear,because lack of oil squitters???

I'm in NY I want to rebuild the engine but i just started taking the engine of the car. I see rust build up on the cam lobes. Just surface rust.! And in the head cavities as well. Valves are stuck. And crank doesn't turn at all.
Got a question, youre doing this all on a GE non-VVTi, did you weld in the crankshaft position sensor under the tensioner too? Do most standalone ECUs need the crank position sensor for ignition or just cam position sensor?
Converting ge to gte will require an new ecu, if you are going to use any aftermarket such as haltech, motec, fueltech I believe the crank trigger, u wont need an cam trigger
Alberto, Question for a GE vvti head. would you consider porting the intake ports to the same size as the ones on a GTE vvti head for better flow? Does the head gasket on the GE vvti head needs to be upgraded to the OEM GTE vvti HG to decrease the compression? I know it's 10:1 in the GE vvti and 8.5:1 in the GTE vvti.
Hello I know this is an old video so I might not get a reply. But wouldn't just running the batch injection fix that issue? It really doesnt give us any preformance uprades to run sequential because its low end only. Mostly for fuel economy. Or is this simply to claim you have a gte and not to gain power?

How many miles should the bottom end have on it though? I see a decent amount of these engines online but they're all like 200k miles. Also don't the TT rods give out under low end torque?
@@nickbenetti3115 you are right Nick. The VVTI 2JZGE ARE TOO WEAK unless you are staying under 450hp. 2JZGTE or none VVTi rods and pistons would work but they are getting harder to find so lll probably get new beefier rods and pistons for my project build.
And second question please, wouldn't i have to weld in two cam position sensors instead of one? Because gte has two cam trigger sensors on Cam. Im keeping OEM auto GE ECU until i can get a piggyback AEM???

great tutorial man i have a question. i bought the BC 264 cams. and they have those tabs but im experiencing two problems. on the intake side when the cam is on the timing mark the tab for that sensor is aiming straight down and so i have no idea how to go about that. Secondly it looks like on my cams is a bit further towards the middle of the head and theres even more obstruction in the casting and its closer to a bolt for the intake manifold so im worried that it will obstruct the bolt or possibly actually hit it. Now on the exhaust side it looks like it would line up properly but im concerned about it getting really hot and melting being so close to the turbo manifold. do you think its doable on the exhaust side ?
@@Cpshi.u Ohh it was a confused situation. i had the 2jzGE bc 264 cams. and at the time i assumed even the GE cams would have the tabs for the cam sensor. And it looked liek they did but really it wasnt the correct ones. thankfully though i was able to sell them for close to what i paid for them considering they were never installed just brand new in box. then i ordered the GTE cams and they had the very obvious tab in the same location.
How do you tune this. With a 36-2 vs the 12 tooth gte crank trigger. I have always thought of changing my gte crank trigger to the 36-2 vvti trigger for better resolution.

I always use a vvti ge and build the bottom end 👍 3 in now. Cheap and good to have a few on standby. Love your work bro

Idk if has been brought up yet but what do you think about oil squirters vs no oil squirters on the ge vs get motors?
They are not needed. With a good tune, especially with E85 it keeps the pistons cooler. Most race engines delete them or run ge blocks
