    A tip I would give is if you are reusing the vvti gear, buy a new vvti o ring from driftmotion and replace it but make sure the bolts go back in the original spots bc im pretty sure its balanced. They are known to leak on these engines

    • @tripphopper3374
      @tripphopper3374 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The proper gasket to use isn't just based on if its turbo or not, Its chosen based on engine build spec. Different thickness of gaskets will change the compression ratio and squish/quench. It also depends on rod/piston size and if too much surface material was shaved off the head or block. The GE headgasket is plenty stout to make big power

    i’m building an nat sc300. my goals are around 6-800 hp ik it’s a little high but i figure a 2j could do it with relative ease. any recommended parts for a single turbo 800 hp build?

    • @AutoMotiv8ed
      @AutoMotiv8ed  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's definitely doable, we've got a bunch of videos on the channel that could help with that!
      Basically if its a non vvti 2j you could go nat with supporting mods (fuel pump/injectors/r35 coils) and e85 you can make close to 600hp un opened. Anthing more, you will need pistons and rods

    • @AutoMotiv8ed
      @AutoMotiv8ed  ปีที่แล้ว

      you will need to use a aftermarket ecu to control the engine/body wiring. T56 trans will work great, but i advise getting a complete off the shelf kit, as soucing parts on your own to fit t56 may be stressfull

    Was there a need to drill a port for the turbo oil feed and return system into the front left side engine block port for the GE vvti block since the GE vvti blocks weren't meant to run turbos?

    • @AutoMotiv8ed
      @AutoMotiv8ed  หลายเดือนก่อน

      all we needed to drill was a oil drain and add a fitting for the oil pan

  • @cpurage
    @cpurage 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So the GE VVTi is already having the camshaft sensor from factory on the VVTi head… and you used GE non VVTi stock pistons and not GTE pistons ? Please let me know as my IS300 is in transit to me and I’ll get it soon … I want to do the same turbo build for drift application … so what is your current compression ratio with those pistons 9:1 or even more ? I mean that if you break the timing belt the valves will bend and will screw the whole block + head right ? Or not ? I still can’t understand if the GE VVTi engine will be completely screwed if the timing belt break … from Rad Dan video I realized that the both GTE engines are secured in terms of breaking the timing belt because of the 8.5:1 GTE pistons (and may be the design of the GTE heads) and the GE ones are not secured if timing belt break, right ?

    • @AutoMotiv8ed
      @AutoMotiv8ed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct, and correct.
      Our Current compression ratio is 9.2:1 as we have used the GTE MLS headgasket with the na non vvti supra pistons.
      Basically here is a breakdown to answer your question;
      N/A comp is 10:1
      Vvti n/a comp is 10.5:1
      N/a with tt gasket comp is 9.2:1
      Vvti n/a with tt gasket comp is 9.7:1
      N/A with tt pistons and n/a gasket comp is 9.0:1
      although yes the na engines are interference engines, meaning if belt breaks pistons will colide with valves.
