I love it and I now own it... took delivery in March in the Hot pepper Red no less. I couldnt be happier ! I went with the FX4 package. Rides like a Dream and with the added 2" all the way around its as sturdy as they come. Thank you Lauren for reviewing this Truck !

You jumped from the XLT Exterior to the Lariot interior. That cluster is Lariat only, as is the leather, and for some reasom the upper glove box is Lariat and Raptor only. I think you need to be Model specific thougout the entire review, as there is quite a bit of variation between models.
Over 40k for a mid size truck is just a lot of money though. It is nice for sure, but inflation is still around.
Comes with a power tailgate, but you need a hockey 🏒 stick to hold the hood open.😊

In the next redesign update to a smaller landscape/vertical style infotainment and move the vents. As a Toyota fan….this is a good looking truck

Truck looks nice! I sat in the raptor and she felt good. Im 5'9" and I had good legroom behind myself. The sticker was 58K but tge dealer marked it up to 78k! Yikes! The wildtrak trim is the one I would get. It straddles the line between off an on road. Lets see how much Fird overcharges for it!
How is the brake pedal feel firm or mushy with excess travel?
Ford did a nice job on the redesign. 4 feet between the wheel wells is a big plus. I'm thinking a V6 XLT would be the one to have.
Excellent review. I’ve watched a dozen reviews on this truck. I’m sold on 2024 Ranger, it beats the Tacoma in several ways. As soon as the 2.7 is available, I’ll be buying the Lariat.
Ah, big money! I agree, the Tacoma looks and feels cheap and plasticy to a fault. Ranger is a real truck. Steel bed, good interior, way better than the Tacoma. I checked out an XL the other day, was impressed with the stance, this is 100% Truck! But for reliability, I'd stick with the 2.3. The TTV6 has some weird problems. You can get a Ford Racing tune for the 2.3 that puts you near the V6, but not sure what that would do to the reliabilty of it.
@@chrisfrank8413 I believe the problems with the 2.7 TT was with the 1st Generation (2015-17). The 2nd Generation added Port Injection to reduce the carbon buildup; redesigned the Cam Phasers; and redesigned the Oil Pan which was plagued with leaking. The old Oil Pan used sealant which failed due to heat buildup. The new Oil Pan has a built-in gasket which seems to have solved the problem. The only other problem that I could find was with the plugs and coils which require more frequent maintenance, due to stress caused by the twin turbos. So, I feel pretty confident that the 2nd generation 2.7 TT will be a fairly reliable engine.
Looked at one yesterday! Sticker was 52,000 plus a 10,000 markup for a lariat!
Shop around you can get a raptor for msrp if you shop around
Id keep looking. The Ford dealer where I live they are at MSRP no mark ups. Maybe just your area. I am in Wyoming.
I got quoted 1000 off MSRP on a XLT last week. ADM is as dead as the covid lock down.

Nice looking. Needs a two-door version with a 6' bed, while still keeping 4x4 (for those muddy/sandy jobs). Delete option for that stop/start crap. Add a manual tranny. So basically an Asian-spec Hilux, DMax, etc. Not really a fan of the EcoBoost longevity either. Keep it simple. Pricing should start in the 20s not the 30s. But Ford, like everyone else, would rather sell fewer units for a high profit margin. Except, if people aren't buying cuz their too expensive, there is no profit margin😊
You can get some of those things if you order it but you won't like the price, I will just keep on driving my old 1999 7.3, she will be 25 in may.

2024 is half over and there are still few Rangers on lots anywhere, just like the past four years of failure.
Everything is for off-road these days. What about us guys that wanna just have a sane truck to do what we need? What, I gotta import a UTE from Aussieland?
Not sure I understand your comment. I don’t get it. Because as she said, this(Ranger) comes in 4WD or 2WD.
I feel pretty safe saying that you don’t get the 2WD version for off-road, because it’s not made for off-road.
So… I really don’t know why you’d need to import anything from down under!
You forgot to mention a 4x8 sheet of plywood can lay flat between the wheel wells. But 2 big misses no rear vents and no 60/40 split rear seat
Don't have to import from Aussieland. Try Mexico for the Maverick. I'm really liking my 22' Maverick Lariat AWD without the FX4. There's compressed fabric shielding on the bottom between the wheels I'm guessing to reduce or eliminate stone chips in the under-body paint to reduce rusting. I doubt they offer much for aerodynamics. Anyway, the Maverick is very much not an off roader.
@@jimmyrichards5595 Yeah, I just would like a smaller truck than the ones they're marketing now is all. Down under they used to have a truck very similar to a Ford Ranchero or a Chevy something or other.(I forgot what they were called, El Camino) In Aussieland it was called a UTE and it had a real name. I'll look it up. Hold on a sec. Yeah, it was called the Holden, UTE. Now, I might go for an older Ford Ranger, but a friend has a Ram and it's too big for me. I had an Isuzu and a Dodge. Both were much smaller is all.

Elephants in the room.. No mention of lack of a proper 6-ft bed option (affliction shared w/ GM twins) and no rear seat AC vents?
You can get a 6’ bed with the taco but payload is only 1200 lbs compared with 1550 lbs for a lot of the rangers that have been reviewed. No rear air vents there either.
I checked out a XL yesterday, the rear facing vents are under both driver and passenger seats, Saw them with my own 2 peepers! 8 )
Nice review. Functional truck. Front end update is a bit pedestrian. Lots to like, but some oversights (no rear AC vents, no 60/40 split 2nd row seat, no push button start in the XLT, etc.). 1800 lbs of max payload that one will never see on an actual truck on a dealership lot. What is the real world payload of this truck?
Just saw a FX4 XLT with 1550. I have also seen others that were loaded with 1650. The payload is legit unlike the current “class leader” with 1200 lbs.

Take the money you’d spend on the Ford and a warranty and buy a Tacoma instead.
@@jayson657why? Ford with warranty out to 150k miles is the same price as a taco. Rather do that on a proven 2.3 than an unproven taco with 48% new parts in the power train. Turbo trucks will all need to be fixed at some point and with inflation having that extended warranty finally makes sense. Repairs have already skyrocketed just look at your insurance bill. But you keep fanboying
@@marklihsu you’re right. I forgot that Toyota ruined their new trucks with offering only turbo models. Id rather have a 2023 Taco with a V6 or even the old bulletproof naturally aspirated 4 banger. It’s a shame they won’t offer either one of the naturally aspirated engines as an option.
Still not fooling me, if it has more passenger space than cargo space it's a car/suv.
I hate what has happened to the pickup truck in recent years, special order for a real pickup....super cab and at least a 6' bed.
The entire truck industry isn't based on what one individual wants. If you do'n't want it then don't buy it. Go find what you want and buy it. Or don't. No one gives a shit.

Ford has had 21 recalls in 2024 affecting almost 5 million vehicles and its only April. 😮 please, please buy a Ford, so they can afford to fix these recalls.😊
I have a Tacoma 2022 with a recall already, not only ford.
Ford's color palette is getting boring. The shelter green looks great but they reserved it only for the raptor. Unfortunately I can't take the hit on the tow capacity to go raptor.
Or the weight, that thing is 1100lbs heavier then an XLT. 5500lbs. lol. gonna need that extra power!
@@chrisfrank8413 Or the mpg. Ha! I have atvs and a sxs for the trails. Tow capacity, mpg, and something that fits better in city parking lots than my F250 tops my list.
Buy the VW Amarok instead. More comfortable on tarmac/asphalt.
🤩 I'm a Toyota lifer...but, the new Ranger looks good. To bad it doesn't offer a 6' bed. BTW, OPEN our market to BYD,NIO,Xpeng, etc from China... create jobs and make ev affordable!

the real problem is car dependency zoning caused by the big oil and auto Corporations. the effect of such zoning being requiring a car as a paywall to do anything besides having houses in walking distance in the us and canada. where as in nordic countries even in the suburbs they have, public transit/rail, midrises, multiuse, walkability, small businesses
It’s not the government that does that we as free Americans want our open spaces and freedom to roam freely and not be living like ants
Some of use don’t want to live packed in like sardines. I hate neighbors and cities, I’d rather be dead than live like that. I love living in rural areas.
