    I put this club in my bag at the start of the season. So much easier to hit than a regular 4 Iron and a fairway wood if you struggle with those!

    Have also a U500 4 iron but my U505 3 iron feels “softer”. Have it with a tour ad di shaft and is (after my Edel Putter) my favorite club in the bag. Very long, easy to launch from the deck and easy to shape ( draw, fade, high, low). Don’t like hybrids. But you have to be a descent ball striker with enough clubspeed because it is still what the Indian does with the bow and arrow😅

    I play in big junior tournaments with kids anywhere from ages 15-18 and these kind of clubs are really popular. I use my t200 3 iron and I love it for when I’m struggling with driver or I need something coming into a par 5 from like 240-250

    Great club just wished they filled it with a polymer of some sort. Two reasons why, firstly I think the UDI, GAPR and PXG irons all feel better.
    Secondly the hollow body driving irons are extremely light and they're a nightmare to swingweight properly, especially if you want a heavy shaft.
    I played the u510 and with an atmos black 9x it arrived with me at C9, had to add a ton of lead tape.

    Have been considering the 505 for quite some time now. Gonna do a fitting hopefully next month.

    Just put a U500 3 iron in the bag to replace my 3 hybrid and it’s great, when I need to find a fairway it’s fantastic off the tee!!

    I've been thinking of putting a driving iron in the bag, but no one I play with has one, and there are so many to choose from. Appreciate the video, Frank!

      If possible try to get a proper fitting. I’ve found that the shaft you go with makes a huge difference in these utility clubs.

    Great review . I was interested to see the results of these utility clubs. Frank what is your driver club head speed for comparison. Don’t have a trackman so it’s kinda a guessing game here in Nova Scotia, Canada . Keep it up guys

    • @Golficity
      @Golficity  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My driver club head speed is usually around 100-105. Very occasionally I’ll hit 110 if I really get after it.

    Great video. Looking for a club to replace my regular 4 iron.

    how good is it in light rough??? hybrids are brilliant in the rough, can hit my 4 from 150 - 220 out of a dodgy lie.. can the utility iron do the same?? Amazing how no reviewers even brooch this subject when half of golf shots are probably hit from the rough!

    I just got a U500 2iron and I can hit that thing ridiculously high 240-50 So I’m assuming the U505 is even easier to launch.

    What hybrid do you carry ?

    T300 4 iron does the same for me but I may look into a 3/2 iron...Thanks

    Frank, our games are very similar and I was also fit into these shafts. Do you use the exact same shaft in the hybrid and 4 iron or is the 4 iron heavier than the hybrid? Thanks!

    • @Golficity
      @Golficity  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 4iron shaft is a bit heavier at 75g vs 65g in my hybrid.

    Do you guys still use the Optishot sim? Or are you using a different software? Was the optishot not worth it?

    • @Golficity
      @Golficity  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mike, yes we still use the OptiShot sim for course play but we’ve been testing some other launch monitors to get some of the club/ball data we need for these equipment review videos.

    Anybody with average swing speed could play this version of a utility iron.

  • @grizz6691
    @grizz6691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thought I was going to love it, until I got it on the course and after a 100 yard strike my ball would take a 90degree left turn for another 100 yards 😬😬😬 trade in quick and move on. Hahaha

    • @Golficity
      @Golficity  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting. Did you get fit into it or did you buy to try?

    • @grizz6691
      @grizz6691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Golficity I got fit. It was on a sim and the numbers were clean. Take it outside and once it hit a certain apex…left turn at Albuquerque!!! 🤔🤔
