When this first came out I was not able to hit this to save my life. Tried it again today with a 4 iron and ended up buying it because it was so much better, a lot straighter and further than previously hit not to mention that it almost went as far as my 3 wood. Now I’m considering getting the 2 iron, or maybe even the 1 iron, as a potential replacement for the 3 wood.

Nice review. TheU505 with 20degree loft is very interesting. Hopefully, you will do comparison review between U505 compare to other utility iron with 20 degree in loft as well, such as Titleist U510, Ping G425 crossover, Cleveland UHX, Srixon ZX Utility iron, TM SIM UDI.

How do you think this goes up against the Mizuno pro hi fli? Considering them both as my 3 iron trouble deciding can’t seem to find a review side by side.
U505 worth the upgrade to the graphite design shaft ?
    Thank you great work again!!!

You mentioned needing to have enough swing speed to effectively swing the U505 3 Iron. What would be a good threshold estimate?

90 mph driver minimum particularly with that shaft.

There isn't enough talked about on youtube golf videos that once you swing speed drops to low you wont for example hit a 20/3 any further than a 23/4. So it pointless to have them in your bag. This is why a slower (average golfer) will have hybrids/woods etc as the higher launch helps the slower ball go further. You can see the effect with a garden hose if you try to get the water to go the furthest from you you will soon find what angle goes the furthest. At the top end of my bag i currently just have driver, 5 wood, 5 hybrid, 6 iron.

Have you considered a hybrid that has a higher MOI? What club speed do you generate? - Thomas

use the standard deviation, so you don't have to talk math and loads of numbers.

I guess a test with a mid handicapper would be more informative 👍

I am a 14.5 handicap. I got fitted for the 3 iron u505 with hxrdous smoke stiff shaft. I was hitting the club consistently 210-220 carry and 234-240 total off the mat, Not off the tee. My swing speed is around 95-101 mph with a 3 iron and 101-106 with a driver. As well as 89-92 with a 7 iron with a carry distance of 172y. I have the u510 in 21 degrees and it’s much louder more bulkier and less forgiving than the u505. I got fitted for the new t200 set as well and I have the old ones currently. They’re much more forgiving and man do they feel better.

@@Oswood1010 its not the handycap its the swing speed, 95/101 is fast for you average golfer. 90 or under would not get much out of this low a loft
