I tried these two woods together before and experienced bleed. Lots of sanding to remove it. Then thin brush with shellac on the red sections. Tedious. Thanks for your idea of spray lacquer. I’ll use it next time and not be frustrated!
Thank you James. I tried all kinds of finish and thought water based poly might work. Nope, so I decided to try over spray a few times and that seems to work good. It might take 4 or 5 light over sprays but it is worth it. Still I am careful how wet I get each coat of the actually finish.
Thanks for watching,
Gary

Very beautiful. Great finish. I hope you don't have gout and n your foot. That's a really bad thing. Thanks for your help on the other project.
Thank you Harry. I do have gout now and then and have it pretty much under control But this was an injury to my little toe which is hard to heal if I keep standing on it. But I have a hard time just sitting LOL.
Thanks for watching,
Gary
@@ThePapa1947 I definitely know how feels having the gout. It's sad when all can think about is a hamburger and it makes my foot hurt.
Gary. Well done again. I am hoping to try this one but don't have a bandsaw. My table saw has a thin kerf blade which usually gives a smooth enough surface for a glue joint. Hope it will work.
Graeme
I have done it on a table saw
It takes a jig to hold the pieces securely.
That is spectacular! A lot of work but the end result is definitely worth it! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Jeff and thanks for watching.
