Also, that same assassin was killed by the single Night Lord pissed enough to disobey Curze's orders and pursue her. Granted, he was a Main Character, but so was Curze. Either way, the assassin in question doesn't come out looking that great. Especially not visually, what with all the grievous bodily harm.
I like the un-human helmets and faces, because it hints how far these monsters have been dragged from compassion and pity . The Brutus makes me think of sentient wood-chipper that sees how many lives it can end in one minute, and then tries to beat that record!

Wonderful paint job on these as always! I really like the look of contrast paint over this zenithal+, gives a nice subsurface scattering which feels very realistic for whatever futuristic composite materials these would be

The lore of the assassins and the tips for the game, just dropping the four assassins in and letting the new guy wreck stuff. That would add so much to a game! Fantastic work gents really loved it!!!!!!
That actually sounds really fun to let a new player join into a game with the assassins halfway through and just let them go ham. More seasoned players would think its a fun idea and it would let the new player jump in when the other armies are weakened up a bit so they won't get insta-wiped.

I can definitely see 3D printing being the go to source for 40k HQ units in the future. I can easily get troops used on eBay, but I still can’t swallow spending $30-$40 on a single normal sized model
The assassins were able to kill one Primarch but it was Konrad and he let the one assassin kill him as he knew had visions of how he dies and didn’t want to try and stop it. Also dude was crazy absolute psycho he would have killed that assassin with a bad look.
I just wanna say that today I found out that your videos (from over 8 years ago) are the ones that got me into making bases and terrain, which got me all the way to 3d modeling and printing minis and bases as a freaking job! Thanks bro! 👊

They look really good - the bases are great. Like seeing you improve over time and how you can apply the skills you practice on stuff like this. I like these models for clearly being recognisable as that type of assassin but also not being a blatant GW IP ripoff, they have their own flavour

Great job Jay! Would love to see you make your own versions of The lesser assassin temples: Venenum, Vanum and Adamus. The only official versions that were made were pretty goofy, ungainly looking and horribly outdated.
you can use normal acrylic over a zenithal or in your case DL, just thin your paints and it'll look (IMO) better and you can achieve different textures still without that uniform contrast/speed paint, instant colour look.
Here me out here… take the assassin game you mention and bring it into killteam. Like a Assassin sent in to eliminate a high value target, you only have one model but you get a variety of specialty equipment and abilities that play up to the assassins play style (like a grappling hooks, smoke bombs, and other crazy gadgets) meanwhile the enemy team has to have win via having their leader survive all three turning points
Gotta the lady culexus model is looks very cool. Might grab for a conversion, but I'm testing their chocobo model first to how they measure as makers. The eversor model is also excellent, but I think I would rather digitally/physcally kitbash a better mask for the vindicare, and non weeb swords for the callidus. Btw your painting on the red parts is pretty cool might try it on my blood cult.
I love calexus, lady calexus looks dope AF. I've had it in my headcannon for a minute that female blanks don't get turned into calexus in favor of the null sisterhood but I like the feminine body with the massive skull head

I thought Zenithal+ was an app that you pay for monthly to a company that charges you too much for your favorite toys... I mean directional volumetric highlighting.
They actually retconned Curze's lore so that instead of being killed by an assassin he was instead shot into space in a cryo capsule. It's mentioned in the Night Lords article GW released on Warhammer Community for the release of Horus Heresy 2.0. So while it kinda takes away a big achievement for the assassins, it opens up a chance for the Night Haunter to return.
Could I be linked to that article? If this is true that’s a load of rubbish Edit 1: Found the article, I think that’s during the heresy? I’m pretty sure the assassin thing still happened but I still need to double check? It’s confusing because I’m trying to check other sources.
It's not retconned. Is part of the HH novel Ruinstorm which is then followed by Curze own Primarch novel "The Night Haunter" on how he was recovered. The events will still bring to his death.

When you printed them what sort of printer/material did you use? My library has a printer that you can use for the cost of filament but I think its generic filament and not resin but they may be cool with me getting my own stuff to use

The only reason Konrad Kurze/Night Haunter was killed by the assassin M'shen was because he allowed it. Death is nothing compared to vindication.
