Waze
Uber is Google maps and Lyft with Waze for my experience Waze tends to work better with Lyft I haven't tried waze with Uber I do get a different address like a nearby address with Uber I think it's a way so masks the address that the riders give since Google maps stores recent searches maybe that's why I always keep navigation apps updated
One of the once for me is when the map changes orientation and zooms out at the destination. This can get very confusing when you're doing food delivery if you are not paying attention. Also as you have mentioned when I'm doing spark it seems like about a half of the addresses are imported wrong. The addresses are usually two or three houses off
Google maps ! I'm a originalist no matter.
Waze is Alwaze on point. Plenty of local drivers make use of it and submit reports. You are made aware of red-light cameras, speed zone cameras and police. Your destination address is always rerouted; if you so happen to not follow the route as initially mapped out.
I noticed a lot of tge same on both doordash and UE with the Google map nav. I told uer when they asked for a survey of my experience recently
i'm new to this, how do you switch back and forth between UBER and GOOGLE maps? I can select which one i use in the UBER driverapp, but can both be running and open together?
Uber navigation in my city's goes to the passenger GPS phone, its precise. Says stop pick up Johnny on the left to the T.
Google maps is okay but there is some confusion. I often get distracted while using Google maps. Waze is fantastic. There's no problem so far.
Uber is not sharing the address with Google maps it shares coordinates of the address. That's the reason of discrepancies. It gets worse in a middle of nowhere.
Lyft has same issues.
Why would coordinates cause the issue? They are supposed to be kinda universal? Maybe the issue happens when they're trying to 'convert' the coordinates to the closest address. Instead they should just stick to the coordinate and maybe use a different label or show 'close to' businesses, addresses whatever.
That's not surprising for me because it's been this way for years, whether it's from Uber or Lyft. I noticed Google Maps has improved, but not by much. I can't say Waze is better because they've been having similar issues. I used Waze before and sometimes it would route me in a different direction from where the rideshare app was actually taking me. I think Google Maps and Waze need to work together with Uber and Lyft navigation to make service much better.
Would really like it if Google knew when there is a blockage / road closed
And lookout for 1 51st street... it can be 150 1st... I was a tad late on that one. ;)
Just putting this out there and I have called Uber support many times - I will be driving Uber Using Google maps sometime I finished 15 to 20 rides when suddenly Uber driving App will glitch or sign out ( Sometime have to take a picture of myself ). .. When I sign in or glitch happens My Navigation setting are switched back to Uber navigation witch suck because it turn Navigation pic into a small square like thing . where as Google Maps I have a full screen ( Ipad size witch is awesome ) ... Lately this last month or so and clearly put Google maps as my Navigation after accepting a ride it wants me to tap a Bar to either Use Uber Navigation or Google maps !!!!! WHYYYY This is so frustrating to me .... I know techies. want me to Use the Uber Navigation but putting safety as well as accuracy first Google Maps is just better for me .. .. What would you do with this Problem ? And is there any other drivers having this problem ?
I've used Google Maps since I got my first smartphone. But lately, it's been getting too buggy. It's constantly trying to bring me to the back side of buildings or to the road behind the addressed house. At first, this was a glitch that would appear occasionally. Now it's become so consistent that I've made the switch to just using Uber.
I just recently purchased a newer phone after using an S9 for 4 years. The GPS Chip was slowly dying on it, forcing me to spend the money. I had assumed all of my problems with Maps were due to that issue. But when I swapped phones, that issue was still persisting.
Maps has always been superior in its navigation function over Uber. But I have found Uber to be more accurate when it comes to identifying exactly which house or building is the destination. So I'd often cancel Maps navigation near the end and switch back to Uber. But as this issue has persisted, Maps has been increasingly taking me in the wrong direction and getting me into trouble such that I had to finally give it the boot.
When you see a pin closer to a bad alley or business bad shipping door. Scroll to the bottom and select “suggest edit”
I think if Uber added whatever money they spent on creating the Uber map into making Google maps as compatible as possible it would be much better. It seems like they are trying to reinvent the wheel starting from scratch. Even if they used Waze they would have a more refined product by now.

I'll tell you why, ass u me ing you actually paid attention in school, you failed ethics... Do they teach ethics any more?
I've never had any of these issues with the Uber navigation not sure why you would even deal with Google maps.
I've found issues with Uber navigation in some cases. I live near Ohio State and give rides to college kids going to class. Whenever one of them goes to the Fisher College of Business the Uber app ALWAYS navigates to the basketball coliseum which is about 1/2 mile away on a totally different street. I run Uber & Google as a sanity check these days.
Joe- do you toggle back and forth while you are driving? Seems dangerous. A lot of issues you mention can be happening because of your cell service or wifi service, seems like a google issue. Good luck in your quest. At the end of the day I will always use Uber navigation. Why? Regardless of where it takes me, the timer begins when you reach the destination on the Uber navigation. That is all that matters to me. In Florida we get $4.05 for a cancel but unfortunately you have to wait 7 minutes to cancel which in itself is a joke. Thanks

Rideshare has been around for 9 years? It couldnt have been around that long can it? I'm shocked.
I use the google Map app separately from the driver Apps
Be sure to select navigation preference
Google Map navigation throughly the lyft driver App is terrible

Is Worse
And Uber Navigation
Just as bad
How about being able to interact with the Uber navigation app?
If we can report accidents or road blocks as we encounter them?
Waze does that for you...

The Uber App is terrible it keeps crashing.

Awesome TH-cam - I get the same problems . Its funny or can be frustrating when the Rider hears the Destination is on the Right and its actually on the Left or when google starts and saids its going to place across from place your going to but most of the time it gets you right to the spot - I like Google Maps mostly because it separate the Uber Driving App so my phone ( Witch is Ipad ) is on the full screen and Ilke google because when it tell me I have arrived I actually pritty much where I am spouse to be but the Uber Navigation usually tells you arrived but your like two to three cars length away .... Quick fix for me with Latitude and longitude is just manually putting in the address on Goolgle Maps
