Out of all the TH-cam channels and videos on 2.0t’s specifically, yours is the only one I REALLY trust! Doing my 2nd timing failure/bent valves fiasco on personal cars and with your tips and advice I’m confident in my work. Thanks for the outstanding videos. Really like your humor too. Sets the mood before diving into unfamiliar territory.
I love and hate these engines. There so fun to drive tho so I’ll probably continue using them even tho my last one cost me 10k. Although I might just be crazy lol
Yeah I like to drive them too but my serpentine belt threw off my timing because I didn't check to see my belt after smelling rubber and drove 30 mins before seeing the battery light coming on. This was in March. My valves got bent no compression in cylinders 2 and 4 and the chain probably broke off or stretched. I gotta start working on it before it gets cold and the road covered with heavy snow. Because I know my 2000 Infinti G20 wont be reliable in the snow.
Haven't watched in a while(been working on a BMW,sorry).I've missed your style! Do you have any dealings with later vw 1.8t s.We have 2017 Passat, Can't find any decent engine videos!
The only guy i really trust for audi/vw stuff... he like the fordtechmakeuloco of the euro world.. under rated channel..naptown is a great teacher and shares the most important details
What Size is the polydrive socket? There seem to be a few sizes( 9mm, 10mm or 11mm) used by VAG. and it is not clear to me which one they used for an Audi A4 B8 or B8.5.
Respect and love from paris . I have may be bent a valve while crancking my car .i'll do a compression test before starting remove the engine head .your videos are very useful.
Oh so you actually do own torque wrenches lol.. great video I’d have liked to have seen you lay the head/gasket down too.. do you put anything on the head gasket to keep it in place? Just out of curiosity why didn’t you torque the 4 bolts to 8 NM with a 1/4” drive torque wrench? Can you share where that head bolt bit can be found
Head gasket just gets set on the dowel pins make sure it’s clean and oil cleaned off first. The head bolt socket probably needs to be ordered anywhere online if you don’t have a tool truck guy. And I just can’t help doing at least something “wrong” it’s really not a big deal in my opinion but some instructions Are very important to follow. I do have an inch pound 1/4 drive torque wrench
@@NaptownTuner thanks for sharing.. I have access to the top three tool trucks but I probably shouldn’t haha.. I visit them a lot.. I have to admit that I’ve learned so much watching your stuff over the last year.. and I’m starting to think this 2.0tfsi is really easy to work on a lot easier than the C5 2.8L platforms.. I heard you say once it’s a modular system and I agree.. keep posting dude you’re the best in biz
Love the channel and sharing with all my friends. Found this very helpful and enjoyed the "troll" version alot! LMAO. Just for shits and giggles, have you ever gone back after you torqued to "feel" and checked it with a torque wrench to see where they all ended up... you know, to see how close they were to each other? I would love to know what the final ft/lbs was.
Do you know how to identify the valve springs? As in, which are exhaust and which are intake? I have yellow/red marks on half and just blue on the other half. I think the blue are intake side but its proving troublesome to confirm this.
great video, i think you are the right audi mechanic for my question. a 2013 a4 with the 2.0 T came to the shop, with the block cracked, big hole, right at cylinder 2, why would something like that happen. is it common?
You’re videos have been a huge help with me rebuilding this motor. Thanks

Cool I like your hard work on the Audi s bro
Very good explanation thanks 🙏🏼
Respect! 👍🏻
Naptown I just number the sequence of tightening on the head with pen lol😂. Make life easier 🍺
Do you lubricate those head bolts?
Hi, do you know head bolts tightening torque specs procedure on VW Sharan 2014, 2.0 TDI with CFFB engine code? Cheers

I’m trying to make them easy for people to work on.. I know I’ll never have to worry about transportation
You do! I’ve learned a ton in the 6 months I’ve been watching. Saves me tons of figuring when I can watch a pro do it first. Respect my guy 👊🏼

What's your thoughts on using arp head studs? Waste of money on a typical stage 2 tune engine?

What were you looking at to get the torque spec and pattern? Something we can get as a DIYer?

Any chance you have the torque for the connecting rods and crankshaft caps please thank you
What about thrust bearing on the crankshaft , what is the torque specification
Nicely done. I would suggest a shorter socket extension as the 'twist' will through off your torque spec.
Thanks!
Naptown Tuner is the BEST!
Que torque le diste ala cabeza en libras pie
Ypu can tell ole nap town has installed alot of those heads
Hey there! Great video and enjoy all of your content! I am doing this job at the moment and wondering if you oil the head bolts or put them in dry?
😂 legend ! Thanks for content
Thanks, good info in not so long clip!
Can you put a link for that pollydrive bit ?
Cool, thank you.
Why does the spec on your phone say three 90 degree sequences and you only did two?

Steps 4&5 are for the front t30 bolts
You’re an awesome!

Yellow is exhaust and all other colours belongs to intke red , green etc

Sounds like the rod went through the block usually caused by oil starvation/ lack of lubrication to the bearings
NaptownTuner great, thanks for the answer.
