What you create is not plastic modeling - it is ARTWORK !!! There are some very high skilled specialists here - and YOU is one of them definately. Thank You !!!
It kinda saddens me that you had to break the Eiffel tower model, but it was for a greater thing The lights do give life to the model, amazing job as always!!
@@cedriclefebvre8234 I recommend you watch that episode of Nadia. The big battle takes place in Paris where the Eiffel Tower gets destroyed. Just search for the video: bonkai77 Nadia The Secret of Blue Water Episode 38 To the Sky BD 720p Dual Audio x265 10bit1 rh 80 x - Its at 3:50 but i do recommend to watch the first 7 minutes of the video. Its an epic anime :)
Nadia is my all time favorite anime series, and probably one of the greatest of all time. I've loved it since the mid 90s. I had a heart flutter when I saw you were doing this model. Would love to see more kits from this series. I'd love to own some myself one day... I dont have your talent or skills though to do them justice honestly.
N-Nautilus is inspired by Yamato, they have the same main gun sound effect. Because the director of Nadia/Evangelion is a hardcore fan of space battelship yamato
@@foamysid I guess if it's not for diorama, 1/500 feels more epic? There are even bigger ones but well.. Also Bandai released a new Chogokin product after GX80 N-Nautilus, if you search "GX85 yamato", with full remote controlled lighting, turrets and sound, for reference ;)
I've owned the Nadia anime for 13-15 years on DVD and I STILL haven't seen the full series! A few years back, they re-released the series in a beautiful remastered Blu ray set which I actually bought CHEAPER than the DVD set (which was a collector's tin)! This is a very nice model. I like the fact you made it into part of the diorama. Nothing personal towards the French. After all, it's one of their fictional creations ruining a historic landmark! They can't blame Team America this time! 😄
David, this is a tip which I used for the holes you drilled in the bridge: fill them with some transparent micro pearls on ebay to diffuse the light. You can also mold some epoxy to plug in the "eyes" of the bridge.
I'm glad you're a modeler that does not stick to only one specific kind of model. Have you considered any of the models from Bandai of Full Metal Panic Arm Slaves? Kind of like Gunpla, but I'm interested to see what kind of medications you could make to them.
I found a 1/700 South Carolina class model (Abraham in Nadia), could be made into a water diorama with the 1/700 Nautilus 私は 1/700 したアメリカ海軍のサウスカロライナ級戦艦(ナディアのアブラハム)を見つけました、 バンダイの1/700ノーチラスで水ジオラマを作ることができます
I am a great fan of this anime, and also one of the most big collector of merchandise about Nadia: pre painted figures, very very rare garage kits and miscellaneous staff about The Secret of Blue Water. Unfortunately I'm not a modeller, so the big part of my stuff will be unassembled. Thanks for the inspiration!
A tip when creating a mold for cone-shaped objects. Use kids clay or epoxy resin to elongate the back och the cone. Mount the cones on a plate and hang them upside-down in the mold box. When cured you can wiggle them out and cut off the excess cone. This way you won't get any mold seams as you do with a two-piece mold. One thing though. When pouring in the resin in the finished mold. use a toothpick or something to "encourage" the resin to go all the way down to the tip of the cone. As usual. A great video and a great inspiration. Feel the need to go upstairs and continue with my Hasegawa A4 Skyhawk now... :-)
Amazing work a always. Goodness, I remember watching mot of this series many year ago. I don't remember much, just being somewhat disappointed that the sub wasn't more Steampunk. :)
I really appreciate the Syfy builds you create. I think it's very fwd in attracting younger generations to model building and maintaining older ones with nostalgic favs like Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, etc. Kudos to your talents. A Cylon Raider with an operating LCD red eye would be sick.
Unfortunately this choice of model is not for "Young" generation, it even has nothing to do with "new" generation as most audiences of this "Anime" were not "Weaboo" neither millennials. Many of them are over 40s now and they are not much younger from Star Wars fans. There is no doubt that this builder is very skillful and talented as I've spent over 20 years playing models as well. If he really wants to attract some "Kids", there're some better options such as Marvel diorama or Gundam with new serials. ;p
Looks really good and like the diorama. A suggestion however, you should add some LED's under the Eiffel Tower to simulate how it is normally lit, that would add to the look.
Your skills and ideas are clearly to level, but I think your choice of music and excellent to- the- point narration is what moves your videos to another level. 😀
I do a fair bit of mould making using silicone rubber. If you want an alternative to making boxes for the moulds, I use Lego bricks - you can make mould boxes any size or shape you want without having to wait for glue to dry or having to waste materials. Great video, lovely job.
@@soupfork2105 The rubber I use is fairly thick, so it doesn't tend to leak. I often make two part moulds so I use clay to encapsulate half the subject which also helps. For one piece moulds, another trick is to use a plastic cup and put the subject in there. I made a short video on the process if you're interested - th-cam.com/video/o3XENdKlHJg/w-d-xo.html

Excellent work as usual, i'm not really into anything Anime, but the Diorama you made with this kit, especially using the LEDs and the Fibre Optics...............just a stunning result !. I've always wanted to try using LEDs and Fibre Optics but thought it would be too difficult, but you have shown me that it is a pretty straight forward process if not a little fiddly, but after seeing this, i'm going to give it a go. Thanks ! Love it.
when pouring your silicone if you do it height you can stretch out the silicone as it pours into the mold. The thinner the line of silicone the better as it removes some air bubbles, maybe not an issue for yah but i find it helps when i mold my sculptures.
