As Japanese, I’m happy to see a foreigner enjoying building Japanese kits. Actually I was surprised that there were such a lot of people who loved Yamato. Thanks a lot.
sorry my englishe is not very great. I think Japan must be very nice country with very nice peoples. I have friend from japan called hiro, we drink beer together in pub every night
That was my favorite show as a child growing up in u.s.a. star blazers was amazing. I remember getting the chills every time they fired the Wave motion Gun and The cruelty of the Gamalons.
Dave There’s an Australian company that makes LEGO led kits and you can order custom lighting setups from them. Can’t recall the name but Google should get you there.
The weathering makes sense in the lore. Space ships in this universe spend much of their time submerged underwater. As that is where they are stored when being overhauled, decommissioned, or just plain laid up between wars. New ships are also symbolically launched into the sea before immediately being launched into space.
I love how you build and just let the model “talk” - the paint noises, very “ASMR” and relaxing without a bunch of nonsense cluttering the art of the build. Bravo
This is bang on mate. I like your weathering, it's hard not to get carried away sometimes and make your model look fit for the scrap yard. Your ships look used but still in fighting trim.
She was a beautiful tough ship.I served upon her in 2200 to 2210.She was the pride of the fleet and all the nations of Earth appreciated the ship and the crews that served aboard her.
I watched starblazers when I was a child, feels and is a long time ago. I remember vividly how emotional I got watching the last episode. That memory remains my main showcase of how numb I have grown over the years where it's real hard to get excited over anything any more. Was satisfying to watch this build.
I'm pinning this comment because there's a few questions around why there's weathering, especially streaking "down" - well mostly because that's what the box art depicts, and it does spend time in the atmosphere where the rust, dirt and grime would be picked up by rain and gravity. The silver chipping is mostly caused by space debris. Hope that helps!
If you have seen the 2199 series that the model is based on (not first TV series), there were few occasions where the ship scraped badly against other ship&rammed into a building head first. On each occasion, you could see scrape mark for at least an episode following the "incidents." My interpretation of streaks on the box art would from those scratches (=the art is drawn in "return trip," not on the way)
Space ships in this universe also spend much of their time submerged underwater. As that is where they are stored when being overhauled, decommissioned, or just plain laid up between wars. New ships are also symbolically launched into the sea before immediately being launched into space. So the weathering makes a lot of sense. And well space is a very dusty place overall... So spaceships WILL pick up their fair share if dirt and grime.
As updated as it is, original series was "Space Opera" NOT SciFi where a disabled "space ship" goes from top of screen to bottom of screen while spewing out smoke. Translation, live with it. :-p
Watched your 1/500 Space Battleship Yamato build several times and it inspired me to build my own! I learned a great deal from your techniques and mine turned out great! Thanks for the inspiration!
Terrific build! I didn't know this was going to be a snap together kit. The series should have also resurrected Yamato's sister ship and christened it Space Battleship Musashi.
In a nutshell, what Space Battleship Yamato is -- The original 1973-1974 anime TV series was a genre-defining, epoch-making show. As far as sci-fi/mech/space opera series in Japan go, probably only Gundam is more popular. I think Yamato (at least my impression) trades off second-place with Macross in popularity. It eventually made it to the West in an edited, redubbed version popularly known as "Starblazers." It's considered part of the Second Wave anime explosion (along with "Battle of the Planets," the original Western dub of "Gatchaman"). In Japan, the show was popular enough to inspire a series of motion pictures that ran well into the 1980s and at least two more TV seasons, the second of which is considered the best of the series' run (and was itself a MAJOR rewrite of the second Yamato theatrical movie), the third season of which is considered pooh in Japan and the West, dub or no dub. Most of the Yamato merchandise has never made it to the West -- this includes many videogames and more than a few original manga, anime OVA spin-offs, and the vast majority of the model kits. Yamato 2199 is a REVAMP, relaunch of the Space Battleship Yamato brand. Relaunches have been attempted several times but have never quite succeeded in the past.... they've done these with brand-new casts set in new continuities or far into the future, OR they've been continuing the original series through newer movies/OVAs with surviving members of the original 1970s voice cast. Yamato 2199 is mostly redesigned... Only the female characters and the Yamato itself really reflect the original series. Some specific subplots of the main storyline were tinkered with but it mostly follows the original 1973-1974 series which has STILL never been released unedited, video and audio restored in the West! There was an attempt to sell Yamato 2199 as Starblazers 2199 in the West but it was botched. Four out of six planned DVD/Blu ray volumes were sold online before the effort was cancelled. The series just wasn't selling well enough to finish it and the US release was critically panned... It was sold through the company that's had to the Western video license to the original Yamato theatrical films and Starblazers for the better part of 20 years at least...
You're welcome! That's the little bit I know about Yamato myself. Yes, the show was named after the famous SUPER Battleship that was sunk in World War II. IJN Yamato was the largest battleship ever built but NOT invulnerable. Like its sister ships, it passed into legend... It was only in the early 1980s that the wreck was discovered by a Japanese research group. Its sister ship, Musashi, was discovered a few years ago by a group funded by Paul Allen I believe. The third ship, Shinano -- which was modified into an aircraft carrier, has not been rediscovered -- yet. They have a general idea of where it sank but when the ocean gets to at least 20,000 feet depth in places, it's like looking for a needle within a haystack within a haystack. You really can't rely on the coordinates recorded during battle -- they're a starting point, not an absolute. There are many, many wrecks from World War II that have to be rediscovered. It all takes time, money, and a lot of good research... It helps when they have legends and great general interest surrounding them like the wreck of the Titanic did. Even then, technology had to catch up before that liner was rediscovered... The Yamato has quite a legend itself in Japan and is probably the most famous and beloved fighting ship in Japanese history. The name is to Japan what the Enterprise (CV-6 and later CVN-65) is to the US Navy... I have seen BOTH of the dubs of the first two seasons of Space Battleship Yamato a long, long time ago. I saw them back in 1991 or 1992. I saw a little bit of the third season, called "The Bolar Wars" in the US, but wasn't impressed. It was pretty forgettable! I HAVE all (six of?) the original Yamato theatrical films through Final Yamato subtitled on DVD (Voyager Communications release, officially authorized) but have not watched them yet. I have read Final Yamato, the final film in the original series, has or had the record for being the longest anime feature on record... which is NOT a good thing! Japanese films have a reputation for having very deliberate (re: SLOW) pacing. I have seen bits and pieces of Yamato 2199 online and it seems decent to me but it's something that I probably would have to sit down and watch over a few days and NOT weeks. It's that type of show. If you want to own whole series of Yamato 2199, you'll have to get it online... Nobody outside of Voyager has licensed it and I already told how well that release went off! The legal copy of it costs in the order of $300 over 6-7 Blu ray/DVDs. Fortunately, the Japanese volumes do have English subtitles. I have seen the live-action Yamato (2010) feature from a few years back and I liked it... I saw it online first -- NOT hard to find, btw(!) -- and eventually bought it when it was released on an economical (cheap!) Blu ray in the US. It's a film I prefer to watch subtitled... I did NOT care for the English dub track... they're usually ridiculous on live-action films. The actress who played Yuki Mori in the film was particularly memorable and VERY hot-looking, IMHO... I would classify the live-action Space Battleship Yamato as a budget title. That's what gets most people. They don't understand that Japan does NOT have the financial resources within its entertainment to do $150million-$200million budgeted films like Hollywood. What they CAN and DO often achieve on fractions of those mega-budgets is still impressive... Closest European equivalent in recent history would be Iron Sky (2012) which I also liked. Both films Yamato and Iron Sky were made for under $70 million each... Yamato was closer to $40million I think... Yamato (2010) does show signs of budgetary reasons with the special effects and the way they handled the relationship between the villainous aliens and Earth's alien helpers. That turned a lot of people off... I understand they did this for budgetary reasons AND to keep the film's running time around two hours (which I appreciated!). Still, the live-action film accomplished its goal and told the original anime's story fairly well, IMHO. Oh, and it definitely did NOT leave room for a sequel... NOT happening with that cast, LOL! Oh, and the lead for Yamato (2010) was the same Japanese actor who did the voice for Howl in the anime feature, "Howl's Moving Castle." I KNEW I heard that guy's voice somewhere before! Hahahahaha.
I watched the whole 2199 series. I was sceptical because it was all Japanese, and I usually dont like reading subtitles. But I enjoyed the story so much, that I totally forgot, they were speaking Japanese. I heared they are working on a new Yamato 2202 series, hopefully it will be just as good.
Great show to watch with kids. My dad introduced me when I was 7 or 8 years old, he had the entire series on VHS. Love the Yamato and its small craft. Thanks for sharing you project.
Very, VERY nicely done. This is mine and so many others all time favorite fictional space ship. I do hope you have seen the series since doing this video because it is one of the best anime series of all times. Something that not many people realize is that when the series came to America they changed the name of the ship to the Argo because they believed that the historical significance of the name Yamato would upset too many Americans.
I grew up watching the show. I was happy to get the 1/350 scale original version which I have yet to build since I haven't built a model in decades. Your final detail build looked really good!
Awesome model, brings back memories. Star Blazers was the coolest cartoon ever there was a different episode every weekday for the majority of the school year. That model brings it all back!! Label me impressed!!!
I loved watching the original anime way back in the day, it was called Starblazers here in the US and we had to get up hella-early on a Saturday morning to see it; at least in my region. Very nice work on your Yamato!
Yeah their building technology sure has come a long way! There's a 1/1000 scale version of this kit which is half as big, I'll be building it soon for the channel.
If any you complaining about the weathering saw the show, you would know that the ship was converted from the original sunken Yamato in it's resting place at the dried sea bed and was flown out directly to space after breaking loose from the rocks! They didn't pull it out to give it a fresh paintjob before its maiden voyage to Iscandar!!!
That was changed in 2199. Now, the old IJN Yamato is camoflage for the construction of the SBY underneath it. The 2199 Yamato is also larger than the old original SBY. The original was 267m in length. The 2199 Yamato is 333m. It was enlarged based on calculations of the size of the first bridge on the original SBY. The producers felt the original ship's first bridge was bigger inside than the outside would indicate. So, they took the apparent measurement of the first bridge and designed the new Yamato around it.
I'd been watching videos on Bandai products (toys and Gundams) when TH-cam recommended this. Like you, I've never seen an episode of the show, but I recognized the ship. I believe it was the character art I'd see in commercials or ads that turned me off; just wasn't my style. Excellent build, sir! Thanks for sharing!
This type of spaceship design inspired me to draw up ships of similar design for Space Engineers when I get it. Imagine having different classes such as destroyers and battlecruisers of similar design
He only needs the "chia hair" to be Bob Ross. Of course, there have been visual comparisons between Bob Ross and bichon frise, too... At least they're nice dogs!
Haha, you should check out the channel Paint on Plastic by Lincoln Wright. He may be british but his voice just makes me want to curl up with some happy trees... and give them a wash coat and some filters.
You did a fantastic job. I like how you didn't go overboard on the hull and having the grey being too dark, like on some of the builds I have seen done. Very nicely done indeed.
Are a lot of the Yamato model kits a "fit-together" type? I bought, one of the Girls Und Panzer tank model kits last year, and that required a lot of glue for it.
All the bandai Yamato 2199 kits are "fit-together" type. The Cosmo zero fighter 1/72 scale didn't require any glue, and I've yet to assemble the 1/1000 scale Yamato but looking at the instructions it doesn't say you need glue. Happy modeling
Looks really good!! Had my eye on the Yamato for a while but didn'y know what the quality of this particular kit was. Looking forward to the expansion pack build too.
Awesome! I used to watch this as a child and saw this model come to a store I buy from recently and thought it was really cool but wanted to see what it looked like first and this video was really helpful.
I like the way you built the kit, it's simple awesome the way you did the weathering and the way you spray on the colors. Thank you for showing that! 😀😁😁😁😁😀😀😀
Yeah I primed the red sections with Tamiya White Primer from a spray can, the grey sections were primed with Tamiya Grey Surface Primer. I only did some black preshading on the grey sections.
I'm an American mega fan of the Yamato series (I own all the original movies, two of the Japanese-only-released art books, AND also the recent remake... and I even once tried drawing my own comic book style sequel back in the day) and I'm HUGELY impressed by your work on this! Way to go! I wish I had the kind of time I'd need to make that model of the ship at your skill level! Gonna live vicariously through your work. :-D Bravissimo! Hey... is the Andromeda Battleship available? If so, I'd LOOOVE to see what you'd make of that! Cheers!
Thank you for this video! I was a bit surprised your enthusiasm for the model with out any knowledge of the popular culture zeitgeist of the Battleship Yamato / Starblazers series. This really makes me think this is something I would like to do. Something I have not done since I was a young lad.
In my childhood this ship gave me a lot of special emotions. If you never seen the anime serie, let me say that you missed something of very unique and beautiful. But you did a great job with this model. I like it very much.
As a fan of the most recent movie (never saw the original stuff but here's the trailer for the movie if anyone is interested: th-cam.com/video/1vj5g5CrIpA/w-d-xo.html) I bought this same model along with the Gundam wing yamato expansion set 1. It's been sitting here in the box for almost two years as I realized maybe this wasn't the best choice for my first model build ever...even though I also naively also bought every possible model building tool and paint set there is. I'm not so much concerned with the assembly...more the decal application and painting. So I realized I needed to slow my roll and take a step back. So I bought and will start with the "Pegasus Hobbies Luna Rocketship 1/144th Scale #9111" as it only has like 17 snap together pieces total. On the bright side I have all the tools and paint sitting on standby for whenever I get around to building something. And yes....I realize how silly that was and is.
It's not the live action movie version. It's from the 2013 remake of the original animated series: th-cam.com/video/vV0x4XHdbyc/w-d-xo.html. I can highly recommend watching this, if you like sci-fi stuff.
HOLY CRAP!!!! I loved this ship. Every Thanksgiving I would build a replica of the Yamato using a plastic Fiddlesticks set. I mean it didn't exactly like it, but in spirit and to a young kid imagination it was perfect!
To delete the gaps between the seams, I was thinking about step 1: filling them in with glue. step 2: remove excess adhesive with a rag (glue is wet) or fine grit sandpaper (glue is dry) until exterior is flush. step 3: paint. Do you think that would work?
Seen this ship featured on daily cartoon when I was a kid. It sure brings memories seeing it built up here. Very cool! The front hole used to blast a large laser that was used once in a while when a large enemy was encountered. Nice build.
I haven't built a model kit in ages, but all I had in my youth required gluing. So I'm quite surprised to see this all just snaps together. Either way, I love the kit and the work you've put in! I saw one of those in a comic book store in Sydney five years ago. Gorgeous model! I think if I ever build one, there will be LEDs inside. Edit: Immediately after posting, it occurred to me that with a model this size, snap action might offer structural advantages over simple glue joints...
SNAP ! CRACKLE ! POP ! Very satisfying video ...! Though, I myself wouldnt be able to build this model..I tend to be TOO GENTLE with my plastics, and this one looks more like a SNAP KIT...yet looks big and very nice looking model...cheers!
In the late 70s, watching Star Blazers (the overdubbed American version) was the best part of having to get up for school. It was odd and silly at times, but to a nine year old boy whose only experience with anime was Speed Racer it was amazing. It's cool how they added depth and context to the Gamilons. Most of the Gamilons in the show are stock characters, but they developed Deslok into a decently fleshed out character. In the end you understand why he did what he did. Obviously I thought the ship was amazing. It was a spaceship that was based on a WW2 battleship, which seemed odd (even with the in-show explanation. Eventually I realized that the Gamilon Empire was an allegory for The US and Earth is Japan. I'd go deeper into all of the symbology (and there's a lot), but that would spoil it if you want to watch the show. Anyway, I can't tell you how many thousands of times I drew that damn ship well into my teens. And I took with me what that show taught me about the Japanese zeitgeist.
I use to have one of these, gonna get another one...if you look on the box the entire hull is shadowed like yer weathering...I did a little darker on the weathering and then did an entire light shadow over the hull and it looked awesome...just an idea for you....you did an awesome job guy....good stuff

Japanese models are always better I have yf- 25 that I am putting together
yamato and legend of the galactic heroes are my 2 favorite shows!
That model kit is made to be lit up with a lights kit. That would be an incredible finished product
I agree. This is not finished until it has the lighting kit add to it.
I was thinking the same , Icing on the cake with Led's , would look great
I searched online for a light kit but I can't find it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you. :) I just try to make the sort of videos I enjoy watching.
Star Blazers was an awesome anime TV show in the 1970s. I used to race home to watch it religiously!
Dude, in China they have a word for people like you: Shifu. Truly a masterful build. Thank you. It was a pleasure to watch!

Hi. I've just finished building my own Yamato kit and I've used a few of your techniques for weathering my own kit.
Thanks for the tutorial.
Awesome, glad it was useful!

Thank you! It's an awesome ship.

Aw man! My childhood cartoon space opera! Thanks for this!
I spent the first twenty minutes of the build wondering where your glue was… must look these kits up.
Wonderful work, it looks fantastic.
Kudos to you sir. This is a masterpiece. Job extremely well executed.
Thank you!

you should watch Space Battleship Yamato, it's really good.,
I grew up watching the show. I was happy to get the 1/350 scale original version which I have yet to build since I haven't built a model in decades. Your final detail build looked really good!
Thank you! How long is the 1/350 scale version? Must be huge!
ModelChili Scale Models, it is just shy of 3 feet long!
I never liked the 1/350 scale
Awesome model, brings back memories. Star Blazers was the coolest cartoon ever there was a different episode every weekday for the majority of the school year. That model brings it all back!! Label me impressed!!!
Thank you!
That’s gotta be the best fitting snap tight kit I’ve ever seen! 😳😳🙀🙀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That is just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. As soon as you opened the box I had a nostalgia moment and now have the sniffles. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved watching the original anime way back in the day, it was called Starblazers here in the US and we had to get up hella-early on a Saturday morning to see it; at least in my region. Very nice work on your Yamato!
I am astounded that the model is snap-fit without any glue. I'd like to give this a go had I got the space to display it. Very nice build.
Yeah their building technology sure has come a long way! There's a 1/1000 scale version of this kit which is half as big, I'll be building it soon for the channel.
You don't show the big "Wave motion gun" on the front very much!!
I remember that part of the show from my childhood the MOST
Thats a work of art my friend!!! You should build another one with LED lights!!!!!
I was introduced to scifi because of this show...I've been designing spaceships for 40 years...great job detailing this up!!
Thanks! Wow sounds fun, I hope you get paid for it! :D
Recommend to watch the cartoon, and the live action as well
I'd been watching videos on Bandai products (toys and Gundams) when TH-cam recommended this. Like you, I've never seen an episode of the show, but I recognized the ship. I believe it was the character art I'd see in commercials or ads that turned me off; just wasn't my style. Excellent build, sir! Thanks for sharing!
最近のバンダイのプラモ作ると、プラモも時代変わったなぁと思うよな。そのかわりより洗練されたのは嬉しい。
This type of spaceship design inspired me to draw up ships of similar design for Space Engineers when I get it. Imagine having different classes such as destroyers and battlecruisers of similar design
Don't forget to upload in nexus
You're basically the Bob Ross of model weathering.
Heh, if only I had the hair!
Nah, you're fine. I just can't believe you've never seen Star Blazers I thought everyone had that is around my age (40)
Of course, you might not be as old lol
He only needs the "chia hair" to be Bob Ross.
Of course, there have been visual comparisons between Bob Ross and bichon frise, too...
At least they're nice dogs!
Haha, you should check out the channel Paint on Plastic by Lincoln Wright. He may be british but his voice just makes me want to curl up with some happy trees... and give them a wash coat and some filters.
Wow! Great model and good job putting it together. Love this old show. You should look into watching it.
Cheers!
this is better than ASMR
Thanks 😁
What I see. All manipulations without glue? really cool!
Bandai 1/500 Space Battleship Yamato 2199 kit: www.hlj.com/1-500-scale-yamato-2199-ban986230?
Amazon is charging $288 because of price gougers. Go to Hobby Link Japan and get it for $84 instead.
$100 CHEAPER on eBay!
@@Mark-OutWest 😱😱😱
Amazing work! The scale and weathering are perfect.
I built the 1/700 scale and I love it. But WOW, that 1/500 version is much more impressive!
When western model ship enthusiasts and naval history nerds see Space battleship Yamato for the first time: "Ridiculous!... but I want one."
You did a fantastic job. I like how you didn't go overboard on the hull and having the grey being too dark, like on some of the builds I have seen done. Very nicely done indeed.
Thank you so much!
@@modelchili More than welcome. Now I need to find out the basics of airbrushing so I i can try my first time!
Holy shit. The Star Blazers ship. This brings me back, unbelievable.
I Loved the Anime series...!! You did a EXCELLENT JOB with the model..!! Looking forward to getting that kit and adding it to my collection...!!!
Thank you!
Is this a snap-together kit or did you use any glue at all?
It is a fit-together kit and designed to not need any glue, but I used some on some of the smaller spikes just to stop them popping off.
I have been. There from when I was 7 years old love this keep going I am 64 years old and still make models of all kinds. Love goose
Looks really good!! Had my eye on the Yamato for a while but didn'y know what the quality of this particular kit was. Looking forward to the expansion pack build too.
Thanks! Yeah it's right up there with all the modern Bandai kits in terms of quality. Definitely recommended.
ModelChili Scale Models waw I see you answer all question there :v
Awesome! I used to watch this as a child and saw this model come to a store I buy from recently and thought it was really cool but wanted to see what it looked like first and this video was really helpful.
Cheers! Glad it was useful. :)
日本人男性の魂の戦艦をこれほどまでに丁寧に作ってくれてありがとう!
My pleasure. :)
Looks gorgeous.Very impressive with the attention to detail.
Thank you very much!
Parabéns pelo vídeo!
Belo modelo!
Ótima técnica de pintura.
Thank you!
Very cool. Lots of fun watching your build. Thanks a lot.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like the way you built the kit, it's simple awesome the way you did the weathering and the way you spray on the colors. Thank you for showing that! 😀😁😁😁😁😀😀😀
Thank you!
Did you prime & preshade the red parts , turrets & smaller parts??
Yeah I primed the red sections with Tamiya White Primer from a spray can, the grey sections were primed with Tamiya Grey Surface Primer. I only did some black preshading on the grey sections.
ModelChili Scale Models thanks
STAR BLAZZERS!!! Enough said. Well done on the build.
That looks magnificent!
Thank you!
I like how you polished the model, the stand, and the fighters
Thanks :)
I've seen this vid about 10 times
Nice!
Cheers!
Incredible that this large kit doesn't require glue to assemble.
Nicely done very good weather in detailing
Thanks!
Muy buenos tus videos contigo se aprenden tecnicas sin tanto bla bla....
Gracias!
En englaise porvavir
bla bla bla
Muy buen trabajo
Thank you for this video! I was a bit surprised your enthusiasm for the model with out any knowledge of the popular culture zeitgeist of the Battleship Yamato / Starblazers series. This really makes me think this is something I would like to do. Something I have not done since I was a young lad.
Cheers! It's definitely an enjoyable build.
I really want to buy this model, but does it require to paint it or you have done this from your own?
No it doesn't require paint, all parts are molded in the right colours. I just painted mine to add a bit more detail.
False, the model needs painting
i was surprised at how easily you put this together Great job!
Thank you. :)
Uchuusenkan YAMATOOOOOOOOOO
Mateusz Mazurek Sarabaaa chikyuu yooo!
In my childhood this ship gave me a lot of special emotions.
If you never seen the anime serie, let me say that you missed something of very unique and beautiful.
But you did a great job with this model. I like it very much.
Cheers!
I can highly recommend watching this, if you like sci-fi stuff.
the old stuff still holds up and is worth watching if you get a chance,
I remember the cartoon and always wanted a model of that spaceship!
Wonderful!!
Thank you for showing it!
Thanks for watching!
UCHUU SENKAN YAAA MAAA TOOO
thats an awesome kit. great job. fantastic show too.
Thank you!
メッチャかっこいい\(^o^)/
HOLY CRAP!!!! I loved this ship. Every Thanksgiving I would build a replica of the Yamato using a plastic Fiddlesticks set. I mean it didn't exactly like it, but in spirit and to a young kid imagination it was perfect!
世界的に宇宙戦艦ヤマトは、どのような評判なんだろ?
Nothing like watching a master at work. You make it looks so easy! Great job.
Thank you :D
((((;゜Д゜)))ええっ!!今のプラモデルって接着剤使わんの!?
そんなのも多いけど合わせ目など良くお考えの上、使用した方がいい
There are a lot of such things, but it is better to use it on the idea of the match well, etc.
To delete the gaps between the seams, I was thinking about step 1: filling them in with glue. step 2: remove excess adhesive with a rag (glue is wet) or fine grit sandpaper (glue is dry) until exterior is flush. step 3: paint. Do you think that would work?
Probably would!
宇宙戦艦ヤマトカッコイイ٩( ''ω'' )و
Beautiful job you did there.
I always love Star Blazers and the Space Battleship Yamato that's a very impressive build very well done
Thanks :D
Starblazers was my favorite show as a kid!
Seen this ship featured on daily cartoon when I was a kid. It sure brings memories seeing it built up here. Very cool! The front hole used to blast a large laser that was used once in a while when a large enemy was encountered. Nice build.
Thank you. :)
Thank you!
A great assembly and paint job!
Thanks!
You make putting the decals on look easy
Yo this is awesome.. I got the Blu-ray dics. And I totally enjoyed this anime. Looking for more episodes.
a 1/500 scale snap tight Space Battleship Yamato that looks pretty darn good? Nice find! You did a great job bringing out the features. great work!
Thank you!
SNAP !
CRACKLE !
POP !
Very satisfying video ...! Though, I myself wouldnt be able to build this model..I tend to be TOO GENTLE with my plastics, and this one looks more like a SNAP KIT...yet looks big and very nice looking model...cheers!
I cringed a little when I heard the noises. I would glue and sand the parts.
Great job. Nice build, I ordered mine last night. I am late to the party but these ships look really nice.
Thank you!
That is absolutely beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
Great job brother! Brings back many fond memories of watching Star Blazers as a kid. Well done and well presented. Thumbs up.
Thank you! :)
Amazing video! You are so skilled at model making and your painting gave me a lot of instruction. Thanks.
