I had an anxiety attack watching through the entire build. The painstaking effort to route all those fiber optics... The technical skill, electronic knowledge, modeling and painting knowledge is next level. Great work David
I realize I'm a little late to the party, but... this has to be one of THE coolest things I've ever seen. This man has off-the-chain skills. Nice job, Plasmo.
And puts a new one in facing the wrong way. :D I love plasmo's models, but with this Star Destroyer kit, you could do so much more, especially regarding the proportions of the superstructure (it's too flat) and the addition of studiomodel-accurate details.
Next, I put in tiny, working fusion generator but be careful, install good working cooling system or model may have melt down. Following, some industrial grade lasers (cannibalized from old CD-players) to give the turbolaser batteries a bit more 'oomph.' Do not forget safety goggles when demonstrating the lasers.
A few months ago I came back to the scale modelling world. I bought a couple of kits, searched TH-cam for some tutorials and here I am watching PLASMO in awe while my kits patiently wait in their box. Awesome work, Mr. Damek! thank you
Do a search for original studio scale star destroyer pics or ILM model shop. There are tones of pictures from making episode 4,5,6. The largest beast (they made several scales) was around 5ft or 1.5 meters long.
That's actually the same way they built the original models in the original films difference is there was a whole team building it. David did it by himself ofc in a smaller scale but none the less a large time consuming proccess to build this and put in all the optics etc. Hats off and standing ovation for David!
Pure Talent 110%, I am quite please there are people like yourself out there still keeping modelling alive, congrats on an amazing build, so much patience, incredible.
You know you are doing good work, when a professional, Mr. Nicastro, is compelled by interest to make a few suggestions. Remember, professionals have a budget and resources unheard-of for a guy like Plasmo. Plasmo, you are a genius!
Not even close. Imperial Star Destroyers are not gray. They are white. The color is actually called Star Destroyer White. This guy painted it the wrong color. From Wookieepedia: _Star Destroyer White was the name given to the pigmentation of paint that was applied to the hulls of Star Destroyers in Imperial service. It was the only color of paint that was produced in enough quantities to be reasonably-priced for applying to Imperial II-class Star Destroyers. Booster Terrik, who had wanted to paint his Errant Venture red, declared that this was evidence that Emperor Palpatine had been out to annoy him personally all along._
after watching this i thought man we don t have to worry about you you are a smart and talented guy you will solve all the problems life is throwing at you wish you all the best greetings from germany
So you want a challenging model build? Plasmo: Yes How about 3d printed parts that involve cutting up a huge star destroyer. Plasmo: that's good...but not good enough. Hmm.... What about a few led lights? Plasmo: Harder A mile of fiber optic cable? Plasmo: Go on.... Umm.. Soldering? Plasmo: okay but it all sounds pretty easy still. Video record and edit the whole assembly, then record a voice over in a language that isn't your native language? Plasmo: Getting closer. *Sighs* How about an Arduino with some coding? Plasmo: Say no more.
When it came to the shading part and you said 'this model is good for learning, you will never have a problem with other model ever again' I was laughing so hard. I will sometimes get myself into projects that require techniques I've never trained before, but it rarely is a small surface but instead a huge one like here, so it really ends up being amazing training. It's like 'oh no what have I gotten myself into I never did this before' and by the end you do it like no problem. Great model and amazing work, thanks for sharing!!
I am in awe of the incredible attention to detail you always put into every model that you do. I could not believe the details in the Bismarck with all the brass parts you painstakingly put together. But I noticed on this Imperial Star Destroyer you actually put the hangar bay (where the Tantive IV was captured) back to front. At first I thought that I must have been mistaken, and checked several times, but I guess with all of the detailed elements that you employed for this model it would have been difficult to keep track of all the fibre optics as well as the orientation of the hangar bay, not to mention frustrating once you already had all the fibre optics in place, to discover the orientation being back to front. Aside from an insignificant, barely noticeable flaw on this vessel, your workmanship always borders on High Art in my opinion. I have watched your videos many times over, I enjoy no one else's work nearly so much as I do yours. Thank You so much, for showcasing your incredible skill sets, I myself could never even approach emulating them. Sincerely, Carlos.
Wow. I'm a former Green Beret who has just gotten back into building models. It helps with my PTSD and wanting to break Adam Schiff's neck. Lol. I'm am in awe. Of this video! You sir are I master! I pray one day i may be able to perform a mission like this
Dremel makes a cutting wheel designed for plastic, if you use it at a slow speed and minimize how much you try and cut through at once it is easy to make those cuts without melting much of the plastic, or any at all. Just do a search for Cut-Off Wheel for Plastic and you should be able to find it. Key is to use a real slow setting and not be in a hurry.
I've seen kits like this built plain, and this video clearly shows what an ingenious modeler with some imagination can do. "Excellent" doesn't really say enough. Thanks for sharing your methods!
Thanks a lot ! When I was young, I like model making a lot. However, the busy life make me forgot about this hobby. Now, when I see your movie, just remind me how much joy and fun during model making. Real thanks ! Tears dropping on my clothes.
I have just discovered your work today, what a great experience to watch your videos all of them incredible... you are a master... you should work for the movies...awesome!
This is one of the most beautifully build kits I've seen. I always dreamt of having my own Atar destroyer and I actually bought this exact same kit. I hope it looks half as good as yours!
David as always its inspirational end epic work! I have that same Kit on my stash... can you tell me wich company majes the resin extras? Its exactly for that that i didn t started mine and on ebay the ones showed for sale are not at the same scale.. thank you and Amazing work!
So you do CRAZY modeling stuff, now you also do GREAT electronic things AND also programing it all together on cool PC. One cuestion: what you MAIN work?
seriously the best, most informative model building videos I've ever seen. You even avoided the close up photography traps like focus and shadows. Really clear. Fantastic!
WOW, just WOW! A whole mess of wires indeed. When you said “easy pease” I rolled my eyes, laughed and literally said aloud “ya, sure, no problem”! I suppose that when you were a kid, your parents used to keep you occupied by giving you a bag of bread crumbs and some glue, and then were telling you to remake a bread... An outstanding job, shocking precision and great technical thinking. The Force of the detail is strong with you, my friend! :)

Absolutely incredible. The time and effort put into this model it quite impressive. What he didn't show us is how the model made the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs. Nice job!
degree of diffculties: easy, medium, hard, extra hard, legendary, and then there's Plasmo
id give up just by the thought of drilling all the optic holes. came out awesome though, thats the difference between regular modelers and plasmo :D
yeah i wish they would sell some already made make an easier chain production factory of those.
Im A medium level builder
So true

bigdud No because not all TH-camrs are entertaining
bigdud what that’s not what I said lmao
bigdud not all TH-camrs make videos for entertainment yes some make videos for other reasons
bigdud yes I see where your coming from
I had an anxiety attack watching through the entire build. The painstaking effort to route all those fiber optics...

This man has off-the-chain skills.
Nice job, Plasmo.
This build deserves a trophy, medal, nice wooden plaque, blue ribbon, major award, or something. At least a solid attaboy!
Star destroyer: Hi-
This dude: *immediately cuts the entire fucking hangar bay out*
And puts a new one in facing the wrong way. :D I love plasmo's models, but with this Star Destroyer kit, you could do so much more, especially regarding the proportions of the superstructure (it's too flat) and the addition of studiomodel-accurate details.
Fulcrum k
@Bob Dole I have.
@@fulcrum8583 Would genuinely love to see it mate. I think you're right, the Revell model has so much potential.
He supplants it with an aftermarket 3D printed replacement.
To get such a complex model kit, and make it so much better that it was intended, is nothing short of astonishing! You are a legendary expert.
Next, I put in tiny, working fusion generator but be careful, install good working cooling system or model may have melt down.
Following, some industrial grade lasers (cannibalized from old CD-players) to give the turbolaser batteries a bit more 'oomph.'

don’t forget to add the ion engines
A few months ago I came back to the scale modelling world. I bought a couple of kits, searched TH-cam for some tutorials and here I am watching PLASMO in awe while my kits patiently wait in their box. Awesome work, Mr. Damek! thank you
This is insane. This could be easily used in the movie making as a prop if they didn`t use CGI...it`s so realistic looking.
MrMirosz this is from the original trilogy, and they did use models during filming
Do a search for original studio scale star destroyer pics or ILM model shop.

They did, the Episode I had more models than the original trilogy, even in Episode VII.
When Plasmo says "easy peasy,"the rest of us just sit here, wide-eyed with wonder.
Pure Talent 110%, I am quite please there are people like yourself out there still keeping modelling alive, congrats on an amazing build, so much patience, incredible.
Sir, you have the patience of a saint. I am learning a lot from watching your videos. Thank you for sharing these.
Wow...such cool dramatic soldering music!!!
It’s always good when Plasmo uploads.
This is maybe the greatest model I've ever seen built.
It's so beautiful! I love how lights turned on sections at a time, and how the engine glow slowly from weak to full throttle.
"It will be difficult to make it at least a little bit interesting, because it is... grey triangle" - I was on the floor
with the quality of the work, and the lights, this legit could be used as a ship model for filming in the actual movie
I don't even have any words to say how cool and beautiful it is
Mate, you've outdone yourself with this one. Especially like the engine lights. Keep it up!
This cruiser can be sold to Disney. For the next films
DISNEY IS A PIECE OF SHIT
its cgi anyways
then it gets exploded with millions of lens flares
no porque disney lo hará desperdicio
fercho kn What?
It gave me the chill at the end with the destroyer in the dark with its lights on and music started playing. Simply awesome!
You know you are doing good work, when a professional, Mr. Nicastro, is compelled by interest to make a few suggestions. Remember, professionals have a budget and resources unheard-of for a guy like Plasmo. Plasmo, you are a genius!
10:45 got me into tears, that dark imperial voice was awesome! Wish I was talented as you are, that simple revell kit now is worth thousands
Ummmm............yeah, don't give up your day job, David - lol
Actually it's worth about $403, the dude is selling this model on eBay I'm pretty sure
I got a tik tok ad instead

I wish I could devote the time and love to something this special, really amazing to me. Well done, and thank U for posting this. Love it!

Too true.
Episode 8 was never beautiful
It is a huge chunk of space waste
Not only is your Work is absolutely superb... Your videos are dramatic and exciting Because you GET RIGHT TO IT... You don't waste time TALKING.
Mind blown! To say, “Nice work!” just doesn’t convey my astonishment and appreciation for your work.
Best model build EVER!!!! MASTERFUL
You're a genius, congratulations for this amazing work, this is real passion
Now put this on a magnetic levitation base with neodymium magnets and ... wow!
Oh damn, that is a perfect idea !!!!!
Your attention to detail when you build these models is amazing!! Very impressive!
Congractulations! I’m a Star Wars fan and you are the best artist that I never ever seen!

OMG that is the best.... looks like 40 or 50 hours of work at least but wow did it turn out amazing.. nice work...
Me: I got work in the morning, I need to go to bed.
Plasmo: *uploads*
Me: ...well maybe one more.
I have a degree in industrial model making/prototyping and THIS is on another level! OUTSTANDING dude!! 🤘
This is soooo cool... Also bless the guy who invented LEDs, literally one of the cooler inventions.
For the original movies they used halogen lamps, the models got so hot they would frequently distort and needed fans to exhaust the heat.
If Yoda saw you, you would be next padawan. Thanks for this cool stuff.
I feel like I just watched Michelangelo paint that ceiling.
Hi Dave. A jolly great video. We'll done.
Man, this was probably more accurate than the shooting model they used in the actual films! Bravo sir, you're immense!
What's with the trolls down-voting this? He is amazing.
Who are you? God?
"Hey mr Transistor, can you open the gate?" :)
Plasmo you're a magician!
The fact that this was done on a Revell kit aswell, and looks perfect. This needs an applause

PLASMO - plastic models Thanks David!
Where you get these Model? It is wonderful.
so this is what you have been doing for the last month. how do you have the patience to make so many wires?
I've been wondering a similar thing for the past week or so, "where's the next masterpiece?". :-)
Wow - Give the man time to decompress! :)
So you do CRAZY modeling stuff, now you also do GREAT electronic things AND also programing it all together on cool PC.

Fantastic!
There can be only "one" and you are "IT" a true master of the build. Kudos my Russian comrade.
Maybe you can use a green screen to take some photos and change background in post-production for a great sci-fi scenes. Awesome job!!
Dude, this is too much, amazing!
Schön gebaut du hast. Plasmo plastic walker😎

I saw this video today first time and all what i can say is: what a fantastic work!!! Very well done!!!
“Impressive! Most impressive!”
Lmao 😂 that's a good one.

Wow Man ! Idk what to say... WOW ! 😱❤️

Looks like one dislike from the Rebel Alliance ;)
That's bigger than I thought it was going to be. Awesome work.
the hanger insert, do you have the .stl? and if so then where did you get it. if not do you have an idea where I can get it?
This!
You really have the patience of a monk. Beautifully done
Absolutely incredible. The time and effort put into this model it quite impressive. What he didn't show us is how the model made the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs. Nice job!
