Knipex pliers are the best! Spend the extra and get the push button adjust model. With a pair of cobra pliers and a pliers wrench you can take apart the world.

@@ThePermacultureConsultantI use 3 sizes of the cobra pliers daily, from drywall work to barbed wire fence, to pulling nails out of old posts, all look like new and work like new. Their cobra pliers and side cutter belt pouch is great and I can fit a small crescent in there with the other 2 tools

...maaan, you got to try it with that truck in neutral dude...😜
Great video as always. What my son showed me with one of those little flashlights, is you can clip it to the bill of your hat; and then you have an instant headlamp. Carry it all the time, and if I'm down on the land away from my house, and it gets dark - I can just keep going...

Since you are working in remote locations, I would suggest you check out refuge, medicals slik kit and a soft T tourniquet as part of your EDC. Also, I would put a zip tie underneath the switch on your bic lighter to keep it from being depressed.

I`ve started keeping several rechargeable, waterproof plasma lighters that have a small light. I have a collection of very small to large portable solar panels & glass ones (hurricane zone) with all types of charging ports from simple USB, Type C PD, 12v etc. If something happens I can recharge everything here including batteries for radios, flashlights, cooking, refrigeration, freezers, and a small air conditioner.

Love this vid!!! I would recommend if you are cutting cord to tie things off a lot to carry a hank of number 18 or 36 bankline, it’s much cheaper and very strong still and also weather resistant. 550 is better for reusable cordage. I carry a 6 foot piece of 550 cord with a delrin plastic toggle to use it like a zip tie and it’s very handy.

Thanks for the info about those pliers. Will definitely get a set. My hands are losing their grip as I get older. I second the person who mentioned carrying an emergency whistle. I also carry a super cheap Walmart multi tool. I kept losing multi tools so I bought the cheapest they had, something like $15. I figured if I was going to have to keep buying a new one it better be cheap. Funny thing is, it's been a few years and I haven't lost it yet! I find that mostly what I use it for is the knife which doesn't lock into place, so might switch it out for just a knife instead. Sometimes they have good ones at the thrift shop for a cheap price. Also I just bought some orange Paracord with a thread that glows in the dark. Not sure why that would be useful but it sounded cool. Putting that on the handle of my garden hand tools to hang them up for storage and make them easier to find.

The Retekess PR15 is a simple, cheap micro AM/FM/NOAA Weather Band radio for those who need quick weather updates. In the 1970s in Louisiana I carried a small transistor AM/FM receiver during any outdoor activities, especially fishing, hunting and camping to detect approaching storms, plus a real glass magnifying glass lens as a last resort for starting fires. I still keep magnifying glasses. Binoculars can start fires too. An AM radio can be put on a "quiet" static part of the band and will detect approaching thunderstorms in the form of static bursts long before thunder can be heard. This likely saved my life several times. Calibrate a smaller, weaker AM receiver by checking the static bursts against radar images of storms as they approach. The NOAA tower/cell phone/radio services may not be functioning all the time, especially after severe weather like hurricanes, but your AM radio will still detect lightning.

The Esee Izula (shorter handle than the Izula II) works well for me since I made my own kydex sheath. It's slimmer and lighter. I carry it appendix but a little more on my left side (about 10-11 o'clock) so it's kind of appendix and kind of cross-draw. But that leaves me room to appendix carry a CCW on my right side at 1 o'clock. I went to the Leatherman Free P4 over a year ago and it's about perfect for me. The only other thing I would add is that I EDC a SWAT tourniquet. It's a little thick, but it folds up into the back pocket to still be thinner than the wallets a lot of guys carry. I'm a believer that if you carry a way to make holes in somebody you should carry a way to plug holes in somebody. And I went with the SWAT, even though it's not the best because it is the easiest to carry and it may work on little kids (I have 3) better than the CAT or SOF-T.

Awesome pocket dump. Not to be that guy, but, the K is silent ie Nigh Pex. Lol. Amazing tools that use german steel. I have a lot of their tools and yet to be disappointed.

I'm not sure if Tool Trucks are a thing down there, but all of them carry knipex up here. If so, I recommend Matco Tools. Lol.

I seem to have a knife fetish too. I ha e a hard time edc them though. I can't find a comfortable le way to carry. Curious about the vanish holster too or one like that would allow me to carry all on a walk or run (gun, knife, phone, etc).

Maybe try a fanny pack? I have one from Highland Tactical (I think they're $25) that fits my Glock 19 in the main compartment and an LCP in the hidden compartment. Plus wallet, knives, altoids can and the notepad.

Check out the phlster enigma holster. It lets you appendix carry your Glock and still carry your knife the way you currently carry it.

How comfortable is it when you bend over to pick something up? It seems to ride a little high.

It’s below my belt line. So it’s super comfortable. You choose where it sits.

Best knife to get in Europe are Opinel. They are from France and quite cheap but have good quality. So you don't have to bother taking a lot of care for the knife. Also you need two hands to open them, which makes them lagal to carry everywhere in most countries.

I should carry paracord but i can never figure out how to keep it bundled neatly. It always turns into a tangled mess.

      @ThePermacultureConsultant  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yeah, it takes a bit of practice on how to wrap it. I might make a "short" on how I wrap it to avoid the tangled mess.

Your knife would be an illegal in the UK. This could be solved by rounding the point so that it cannot be used as a stanbing weapon. Yes it makes it less functional, but equally in the UK the only people who can routinely own firearms are farmers. The UK recognises that certain types of weapons are needed so single shot rifles & shotguns can be held. But you must apply for & carry with you a licence and only certain guns like Shotguns can be carried outside a storage container. And shotguns can only be carried breech open and unloaded
