thanks. I'm an academic by trade but have never been able to get by without a pocket knife. Nobody I know can understand why I carry one until it's needed in the presence then they are amazed at how useful it is.
I prefer how the paramilitary 2 blade tip is more inline with the centerline of the hand giving you a more instinctive motion for stabbing/penetrating tasks such as packing tape on a box or bag you wish to open.
Ordered a para 3 lightweight today, can’t wait! And be careful when using the grinder on old oil barrels, they tend to still contain fumes and explode when you cut thru. Fill it with water first to be safe.

Dude, I came to look at the Para 3 and ended up looking at how fun your life looks! Good on you. If you're after a second knife and don't want to break the bank, I'd recommend the Ontario Rat II. If you're wanting something you casn drop on the floor and not worry about losing it then get the Rat in orange. It's around $50 so a great 'beater' knife. Anyway, really enjoyed your video! Hey, this is a really great video. Well shot and it's a nice change of pace seeing a knife put to some good use like that. In my opinion, though, you dodged a bullet by not getting the Bugout. It's a great knife, don't get me wrong. But for your type of use and being based outside the US, the Bugout would likely break down before the Para 3 and sending it in for warranty would be a pain. For your second knife, I'd recommend something a little more hard use, like maybe a Zero Tolerance or, if the budget can swing it, a Hinderer or Chris Reeve knife. Those are expensive but lifetime knives. If you want to stick with Spyderco, I'd get a Shaman.

I have carried the spider on para 3 for months it is one of the best knives period for every day carry. If you lose that one get the Spyderco Manix 2 with s30v blade steel heavy duty perfection yet light enough to comfortably carry.
I know they aren't the same quality but have you considered a Mora kniv fixed blade and just wear it on your belt around the farm fixed blades are easier to use, never shut on your fingers and the mora are so durable and cheap they are almost throw away items. Also bright coloured handles and sheaths make them easy to find when you drop them or put it down somewhere and forget.
What is this for impressive production value lol. Instant sub. The back of the knife handle, on the inside, the g10 is sometimes a little to sharp and could eat your jeans a little. You can round it a little with some fine sanding paper.
Great choice. Spyderco is a great value and the that lock allows safe one handed closure. The Spyderco PM2 is much the same except bigger. All you need is a course and medium diamond stone to grind out that pesky chip. Nice video, especially the drone shots. Also, thanks for taking us to work with you. Gives good perspective.
I think you made a good choice with the para3. I really enjoy my manix2 from spyderco but I feel like the tip is ground too thin like the para to be a really hard use knife. Sorry to hear you lost your knife , I've been there. When you first said you were considering a new one I immediately thought Spyderco Paramilitary 2. Those chips in the edge should not have been there. Spyderco is one of the very best knife companies and no way would they have let that blade leave the factory in that condition. Benchmade is also a good company but the Para 3 is so much more robust than the Bugout. If you sharpen you can get those chips out. Please don't use one of those pull- through sharpeners. Removes too much material & rounds the point. Hope you got the Para 2 by now. Really liked that you showed you working around your farm & loved that you included the dogs. Good music too. Stay well.
You need a Leatherman Skelatool CX. I’ve been EDC’ing it and the para 3 since the para 3 was released. I can’t be without pliers. Great video! Spyderco should send you another Para 3 free of charge for that chipped blade and for advertisement in this well made video. Cheers!

@@FarmerE That is Awesome!! I knew Spyderco would take care of you. I love that mug!! I want one now!
Stay well.
Thank you, Tom! Still no pm2, though i would love one. But i got this in stead! th-cam.com/video/r1Nyf4SjkHs/w-d-xo.html
Tienes que ver y probar la Wesn Allman, brutal!!! You have to see and try the Wesn Allman, brutal !!!
I would definitely suggest the Benchmade 940 for a work knife
ryan tracey Thanks, i’ll check it out!
I've just got mine I got the one with m390 steel love it
Congratulations! I really love mine too
I hope u have put a very bright paracord lanyard on it brother! The rolled edges would probably strop out on light sandpaper/leather.
The Spyderco PM2 would be a better option out on the farm
A spyderco paramilitary 2 might do you good
Oh, i do too...
Great video! Love the Para 3.
The paramilitary 2 is the step in size from the para 3 brother.
You need a Leatherman Skelatool CX. I’ve been EDC’ing it and the para 3 since the para 3 was released. I can’t be without pliers. Great video! Spyderco should send you another Para 3 free of charge for that chipped blade and for advertisement in this well made video. Cheers!
Thanks, Tyler! I´ve been thinking about adding a Leatherman for the sake of pliers! But i´m thinking the Skelatool would be a little big?
Farmer Watch this! th-cam.com/video/S-61ym8c1g0/w-d-xo.html
It’s actually one of their most popular minimalist tools, the quality is impressive. Not big at all, very light weight. Has just what you need. Leatherman has a 25 year warranty as well. If you break it, send it back and they will send you a brand new one within a week or two. Great company!
