Learning martial arts is no different from learning a musical instrument like a guitar. You start to learn very very slowly... chord by chord, then you begin to create some chord progressions, then you speed it up even more with more advance progressions, and then you start to mix it up and with practice you become faster and better. In a real fight, you don't forget everything. Just like playing a guitar solo or with a band live on stage in front of people, you learn how to adapt if you or some other person makes mistakes. A true master is not someone who learns to do something in a sequence. Everyone can learn sequences. A true master knows how to take those sequences, mix them up and create something unique - just like a real street fight is - a unique fight that nothing is choreographed and planned.
Thanks ! Sensei for teaching us skills of Martial Arts . These skills are very powerful ! They are our Assets in the time of attack by the other party . God bless You 🙏 .
This man has the answers. Beautiful precise, strong to mythodical. I've had this downloaded for a while but just really took a look at his movements, he's a lot like water. Do not wish to face a man of that caliber.
The low kicks are great. I would never do the fancy back kicks. I'm keeping my eyes on the opponent and doing what is quickest, easiest, and most devastating.
2:03 I was surprised the first time a dude tried to untie my shoes in a fight. I didn't really try to stop him since I didn't know what he was trying to do but once he untied my shoes I was doomed. Learning how to protect your shoelaces is very important.
Val, you play well to the camera. I'm very new to systema. It is very easy to follow the way you teach. What you show is very clear. Very good. I think I'll be seeing more of you. That's 4 'verys'! Ditto what commenter Arthur Whitehead said.
It would have been very good channel if Val have had been present here for last year. Only handful of videos uploaded, last one more thank 12 months ago. Great idea and interesting style, just wasted and not updated regularly as if he started and never finished fully before disappeared. I am instructor in Krav Maga and there is so much more on this than Systema. He brought new style, I like it a lot just not sufficient to make it worth subscribing.
Yes opponents fight back. but the purpose of practicing these moves is to provide yourself with a foundation preparing you for a confrontation. Training increases preparedness and the possibility of a successful defense than no training.
Lovely Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you researched - Chireetler Dread Free Rule (do a google search)? It is a smashing exclusive guide for learning effective self defence moves without the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my GF after many years got astronomical results with it.
I always say carry a.small baton or long enough flashlight with reinforced handle to defend against knife or multiple.attackers. Also home made pepper spray works too
Nice Technics except for knife disarm... You can never catch a knife, the attacker doesn't retract his arm and doesn't simulate multiple attacks, but in the dojo it's very nice.
Kicks - ok, but the leg techniques are very dangerous for the defender, bacause his hands are down, that's why he will defenetly get a punch to the face with that. However, if he would fight the teenagers that even don't know how to punch, his techniques might work... Punches - funny, but ok. Aikido throws - bullshido. All aikido is bullshido. If you are not agree, give me a link with a real full contact sparring, where the aikido guy shows his techniques against an experienced boxer/muai thai/wrestler etc. Stick defence - bullshido. You will NEVER ba able to catch a stick like he does at 2:57 or 3:12... that's not real, seems that this man has never been in a real fight. By this time I was smiling, but when I saw how he catches a knife at 3:23, I started laughing, thats the REAL Bullshido. You will NEVER be able to catch knife's blade like he did. And if the instructor does this self-destructive technique, that means - he knows NOTHING about real fight, and it's dangerouse for you to learn anything from this man. The worst thing of these self-destructive techniques is that somebody will belive that he can use them to protect himself, and instead of running away, he will do something like 3:23, and die. P.S.: super-bonus technique at 4:00 - the instructor has just stuck a knife in his own leg.
Martial arts regimens emphasize training, conditioning and repetition. This creates a sense of second nature. Well, that's the expectation anyway. But reality may shock you. I've transitioned from one martial art to the other and my line of work and way of life have brought me to numerous real life fight situations. My best advise is WALK AWAY.
He makes it look effective & effortless. Definitely reall technics. But like anything worth while, require practice. In order to maintain composer & for this responses to become second nature. Sistema is a very real and effective form of combat.
He used a Hi Point firearm for weapon take sways. That's the only thing a Hi Point would be useful for is teaching weapon retention, and take aways. I couldn't focus much on the martial arts aspect of this video because the blond not in black with blue shows was SMOKING HOTT!!!!!!!
Cara gosto da parte de chutes e socos , torções . Isto funciona. Mas as defesas contra faca não existem , quem ataca com lâminas vão para cima e não ficam em um único golpe.
Excellent video...not all the knife technics are good...not too many people would want to get close to a knife blade...other than that awesome self defense... thanks!
Wspaniałe dopracowany system walki. Może to być za mało, żeby obronić się przed lawiną ChRL i MasoneriiUE, którą Wam niestety szykują. My bracia Słowianie jesteśmy w potrzasku. Proroctwa Sławika Kraszennikowa zaczynają nam się sprawdzać. Bóg z Wami.
Val it’s paul French from space cadets , how are you ? Hope your well , leave that poor lad alone 😀 I remember you teaching us some of those moves 👍🏻👍🏻
I've seen the tecniques in the pointing of a gun carefully.. The tecniques being made was just an illusion. It looks like a child illusion in applying tecniques.. There are lots of easy techniques can be applied in that scenario which is very applicable in a real situation.. But, nice video! Just need more practice and search for different techniques from different form of martial arts that can be more beneficial.. Learning is a process! Keep it up sir..
+aminul1984 Mr. Riazanov is former Russian intelligence. He's got combat training from time in the military and his Systema instructors were Spetsnaz officers. Pretty sure he knows what he's talking about. Beyond even that, take into account that a knife only cuts if there is pressure and friction. Even if you apply pressure, if there isn't any push or pull of the blade, it can't cut. By controlling the attacker's arm, he limits the amount of push or pull the blade could achieve and in a worst case scenario, only receives a minor cut. Potential muscle tissue damage but he wouldn't bleed out nor would he lose complete use of the arm. Regardless, he would survive the encounter.
Bigboss5 No.... non of this says anything about an intellectual fighter... I don’t think he has been in the military. And if he has he has definitely never been in any kind of fight. I’m actually gonna do a video on this... this is horrible!!
If the attack is on a bus and on your right is the bus window and next to you is a thief on the other side and left a left and puts a knife on your waist from the left what to do
Me gusto este video es cuestión de tener ideas y practicar tal vez en vida real sea algo estrecico y diferente para reaccionar pero tener una idea de que hacer ayuda
This looks like a mixture of Karate, Muay Thai, and your own technique. It is beautiful
”Fight is like studying.
You know all the self-defense techniques, but when it comes to fight you forgot everything.”
Khawar Khaliq you always remember something from studying
Its practice that makes it perfect, practice so much that it becomes your second nature.

practice again and again till it becomes your muscle memory.
Sounds like a personal problem
Would love to be under his guidance and teaching..
Val is a nice guy
This is no non-sense self defence. Fast, brutal and effective. Amazing!
Thanks ! Sensei for teaching us skills of Martial Arts . These skills are very powerful ! They are our Assets in the time of attack by the other party . God bless You 🙏 .
Val, you're a great person for sharing your talents.
This man has the answers. Beautiful precise, strong to mythodical. I've had this downloaded for a while but just really took a look at his movements, he's a lot like water. Do not wish to face a man of that caliber.
That’s what Bruce Lee was saying be like water
The kicks and foot work are awesome.
Especially at 0:43 to the knee!!

I think this is a good video as you can clearly see the technique needed and as usual practice makes perfect.
Yeah..correct

Enjoyed the video. Thanks Val. Much respect from Boston, MA.
I'd fight that guy over and over just to learn the different ways he can beat the shit out of me.
+Arthur Whitehead that's hilarious, lol.
totally agree.
+Arthur Whitehead me too
Like Frank Dux, and that Japanese guy.
Oh really im glad you are honored to be in the presence of those skills.
This is probably the best Systema video I've seen yet
Val, you play well to the camera. I'm very new to systema. It is very easy to follow the way you teach. What you show is very clear. Very good. I think I'll be seeing more of you. That's 4 'verys'! Ditto what commenter Arthur Whitehead said.
Nice kick and tactical defensive device.
that is a seriously powerful punch this dude has!
Ese maldito es un capooo quisiera que fuese mi entrenador .....eres grande ...
I like the way you punch and the kicks
Basic short attack but effective but the weaknesses of this offense is the counter defense
How would you respond against a rain of knife strikes ?
Very good!

Slow and soft work will build you the learning fundamentals.
Fantastic training
Excellently Explained , Executed with Exemplary EXPERIENCE . BETTER A FRIEND ,THAN AN ENEMY !
good technics for kicks and punches
I like the kicks to the leg.wen he punches
Oh to be trained by this guy!!
Nice Technics except for knife disarm... You can never catch a knife, the attacker doesn't retract his arm and doesn't simulate multiple attacks, but in the dojo it's very nice.
For a British woman who has been protecting herself this way for years. Thank you.
Did you carry swords ???

Nice and clear teqnick thanks for sharing
Always looks good in training would like to see it in real life situations. Good stuff. 👍

I loved your training very much
Thats the best I’ve seen! I would not like to be the guy in the punch bag waistcoat!
Where is Val? Can't pull his website up or anything.

Very nice... So good master
Excellent instruction
you should also do hard sparring in order to prove your techniques. You cant just rely on fighting theory
Mind bloing kics i did never seen
I am trainer but i learned something from you
seriously no words for these fabulous tricks.
FANTASTIC! THANKS FOR SHARING!
looks like wing chun/boxing and with some judo joint locks. Good stuff =D

Anticipated versus participation. But the knife demo is too unrealistic. Most forward actions have retraction.
Beautiful teacher😘👌
Gorgeous tricks, moves and kicks. Amazing skills
Simple but sure..very good
You are amazing, you punch real hard.
A lot of good techniques !
Your videos are so good..thank you
i want fullframe video, no zoom in..
and add realtime motion..good luck guys
The truth is out there ...
Very nice. Where is your training dojo?

Damy radę Bracie. Sława!
The kicks very effective and without fluff. Excellent.
Keep your hands up whilst kicking
Val it’s paul French from space cadets , how are you ? Hope your well , leave that poor lad alone 😀 I remember you teaching us some of those moves 👍🏻👍🏻
Please make demonstrations with someone bigger your own size or at least of your own size, just like real life scenarios.
Super Savate and Aïkido ways and Da Cheng super efficient but about knife's attacks it doesn't walk... the ''cutting'' system 5 or 6 hits per sec
First one is most hilarious 😂🤣😂🤣😂
Excellent !!! Technique .
