I actually kinda found it funny
I think it's awesome how they got a designer to do his video. Sure, you could tell most of it was rehearsed a lot, but the authenticity he had from the clothes he wore to his hair showed that it seemed like they just kinda pulled him away from work and had him be here. Really neat.

He seemed like he honestly was into what he was talking about, but is not used to speaking into a camera. It honestly sounded better to me than random corporate PR speak. Kind of reminds me of E3 when the guy who is developing Sony's yarn game went up to show off the game.

I'm not really into art, but i think the upload to YT feature is pretty cool.
They want you to upload to TH-cam, so they can claim it and make money of it. Classy :P

Johnathon Loveless No they can claim anything that is theirs no matter if you are monetizing it or not. I know this because I am a partner and know how the system works.

The system can automatically detect listed music and claim them for Nintendo, regardless of whether or not you wanted them monetized.
If Im being super cynical I could say thats the exact reason they included the ability to add music to the uploads, as they cant automatically detect visual content from variable things like video games.
But hey, I would rather assume they wont take the incredibly scummy route and wont try anything with this program.
And its important to draw the distinction here; this is the same as someone uploading themselves drawing in MS Paint, Photoshop or whathaveyou, they really do not have much claim to any footage of the software being used.
The music is a much different matter obviously.
Link's AMV. No. I am a TH-cam partner. It doesn't matter if you monetize it or not, content id will still claim it and Nintendo will monetize it. I have been partnered for 4 years. I know how it works. I have had plenty of claims on my videos from Nintendo.

I wish I had a Wii U and this game, drawing in Pokemon Art Academy is nice but the screen is to small on my 3DS.
I don't think i will be able to use this. My style for drawing includes me laying my hand down on the surface to draw. Can't lay my hand down on the tablet... so.. it's just not gonna work out.

so the replays are speed up, ok but there is a limit of how much of that drawing is actually recorded? Like for example i take an hour to draw Mario will the speedpaint actually be that full hour?

Bummer, I'm european, why can't it be a worldwide contest? :( oh well will make a splatoon art anyway, it was cool to learn about zooming in with the stick, I was always using the menu before! thanks for the tip :).
So I know this will sound dumb, but is there a division of NOA that actually helps make Nintendo games, or do they all just localize?

A lot of nintendo is their game division
Nintendo treehouse localize and translates the games
And the rest is for merchandise and etc
There's a division called Nintendo Software Technology which develops Mario vs. Donkey Kong games.
They also have American studios to help make other games such as Retro Studios, the creators of the Donkey Kong Country Returns series and Metroid Prime series. Heck, a Canadian company even made the Punch-Out!! reboot on the Wii!

Here's the thing: They said before Sketchpad was sort of like the 'demo' of an bigger Art Academy game and when the complete version was released, Sketchpad would be no longer available. But since you bought Sketchad, you already bought a piece of the final game so you are discounted 5$ off when buying the new Art Academy game. They didn't discontinue Sketchpad, they just finished making what it was supposed to be.
William Barrera Art Academy Home Studio is what they were talking about when saying 'more lessons'. Nintendo already announced the 'more lessons' for Sketchpad are found in Art Academy Home Studio. Like I said, it was just a 'demo' for the upcoming game
