The Wii U was and still is one of my favorite consoles, it holds so many good memories and games. I could never imagine my childhood being the same without the Wii U.
Just bought the Wii U, and I'm very happy with it. The long wait for over a year has certainly been worth it. I even had an error code with the system update, and I called Nintendo, which then they actually fixed the problem, making my update perform successfully! Can't thank them enough for their kindness. :)
Wii U turned 10 years, I got mine at January 15th, 2015 and I still have it here with me. This is part of my youth, now I'm 26 years old and I had a ton of fun with it. Thank You Wii U for everything.

For all those of you complaining that Mario games are for kids, I'm 20 and my husband is 24. We both love our Wii U and love our Mario Bros. games. We also love Pokemon, Call of Duty, Metroid, Smash Bros, Darksiders, and The Legend of Zelda. I just want to point out that there's not an age limit on fun. Do what you enjoy. What other people think just does not matter.
Also I think Mario is awesome, Even though all my friends say Nintendo's for kids. PlayStation's not my type plus I grew up playing Mario kart Wii on my best friends Wii. So yeah I agree with you

This is hands-down the best Wii U advertising commercial I have seen yet. This is what you guys needed to do a year ago...this video adequately sums up the major differences about the Wii U and it actually explains the new features. Now all you need to do is make shorter 30 second commercials with each commercial discussing a certain aspect of the Wii U, plaster those all over TV, and you'll be set. Good job, Nintendo. For once you've impressed me with your Wii U marketing...keep it up.
Initially I think Nintendo really wanted to gain back the hardcore audience by promising a console for U... a console where you can make anything you want. Want hardcore games? You can get it on Wii U. Want 1st party exclusives? They're here. Since third parties dropped the ball, Nintendo had to figure out how to market the console. They basically are just calling the Wii U an upgrade to Wii (which as a Wii U owner, it is) and the GamePad is more fun than people think.
The gamepad made the price higher but had almost never been used for anything significant, and when it was, there was a good chance it made it worse. The games were... good, but there weren't any games you would want the system for, but more so games only someone who already owns the console would buy. As well as lack of third party support because of the gamepad, and the fact Nintendo's marketing was so bad that many people didn't even fully understand what the console was, and that the people who did understand simply didn't want it because, well, the bad marketing. There are probably some more I'm forgetting, but these pretty much confirmed it's failure And btw, I don't think anyone genuinely hates the wii u, it's just one of the most "meh" systems that ever came out, so people are simply either disappointed or apathetic
This Wii U video is the best one I've seen, and it's a lot better than the ones from last year. Luckily for Nintendo, a good portion of us were able to identify the difference between Wii and Wii U on day one of the Wii U's release. Those who were confused with the systems probably didn't do their homework.
it is easily prob the worst first year sales of any nintendo machine, even lower than game cube. its picking up some steam in japan, but whether that is purely down to no PS4 competition and the holidays is up for to see what happens in 3 months time.
Damn man the Wii U holds a special place in my heart. I remember coming home from school everyday seeing if there was any new news on Mario Kart 8 and Smash 4. And playing those games for hours.
I'll never forget the day me and my brother got the Wii U for Christmas in 2015. We both made so many happy memories with this console. We still play it to this day. Thank you Nintendo. I will forever be grateful.
I don't particularly understand why people preoccupy themselves with market sales. Honestly, if you have one and you think it's fun, then that's all that really matters. Nintendo will never EVER go out of business, so just keep supporting them and enjoy this colorful adventure.

0:45 Looking back when I got my Wii U as a little kid, that aged like fine wine to me. At times, I didn’t want to turn off the tv when I was playing Mario kart with a Wii remote, I eventually got over it. Another one is when I play Wii games. For some reason, my Wii remote almost never works when I point at the tv, but when it comes to the gamepad, it recognizes it (I eventually found out about the red lights in the sensor bar & Wii U camera).
The WiiU is a great console. I bought mine in late 2019 (despite already having a switch) and I'm very satisfied with it: amazing games, the use of the gamepad as a remote and the possibility to play offscreen (the switch does that perfectly thanks to the experiments made with this console, don't forget it😉) is what makes the console stand out. It's sad that people (like younger me) didn't realize it was a new console, and that 3rd parties didn't make a good use of the gamepad (except for a few); it was a waste of potential in my opinion and what made the console "flop". Also R.I.P. Miiverse, I never had the chance to trying it

The sad fact that most people at the time thought this was an add on for the Wii, when I was younger and first saw this commercial, I actually knew that this was a separate console despite never owning it.
In my opinion, the wii u was a very good console with very good games.and the commercials don't really effect how good the console is. And I still play on my wii u to this day.

Damn man the Wii U holds a special place in my heart. I remember coming home from school everyday seeing if there was any new news on Mario Kart 8 and Smash 4. And playing those games for hours.
This needs to be shown on TV & in Theatres... it gets across the console much better than other adds have.
A Wii U trailer was shown in a cinema I went to in 2013. That’s what made my mom get it for me since my birthday was coming up.
I love how much they have to verbally stress the fact that this is a new console, because it's not self explanatory enough all by itself.
I'll never forget the day me and my brother got the Wii U for Christmas in 2015. We both made so many happy memories with this console. We still play it to this day.
Thank you Nintendo. I will forever be grateful.

I don't particularly understand why people preoccupy themselves with market sales. Honestly, if you have one and you think it's fun, then that's all that really matters. Nintendo will never EVER go out of business, so just keep supporting them and enjoy this colorful adventure.

0:45 Looking back when I got my Wii U as a little kid, that aged like fine wine to me. At times, I didn’t want to turn off the tv when I was playing Mario kart with a Wii remote, I eventually got over it. Another one is when I play Wii games. For some reason, my Wii remote almost never works when I point at the tv, but when it comes to the gamepad, it recognizes it (I eventually found out about the red lights in the sensor bar & Wii U camera).
Nintendo needs to fire their entire marketing department.
The WiiU is a great console. I bought mine in late 2019 (despite already having a switch) and I'm very satisfied with it: amazing games, the use of the gamepad as a remote and the possibility to play offscreen (the switch does that perfectly thanks to the experiments made with this console, don't forget it😉) is what makes the console stand out.
It's sad that people (like younger me) didn't realize it was a new console, and that 3rd parties didn't make a good use of the gamepad (except for a few); it was a waste of potential in my opinion and what made the console "flop".
Also R.I.P. Miiverse, I never had the chance to trying it

@@michaelmoss9198 Yeah, the Nintendo Switch has been around since 2017 and the Wii U has gotten a bit out of hand, as it did have some issues and the Nintendo Switch sold more than 89 million units around the globe.

I love the console, but it`s marketing is crap, there is so many things you can do on wii u that weren`t even showed in commercials until now

The sad fact that most people at the time thought this was an add on for the Wii, when I was younger and first saw this commercial, I actually knew that this was a separate console despite never owning it.
