  • In this video I do a quick comparison of the Traxxas Slash 4x4 VXL Brushless rtr with the HCG chassis and the Traxxas Slash 2wd xl-5 brushed rtr. I compare the prices, capabilities, speed, durability as well as talk about the many differences between the two 1/10 scale machines.

My first hobby grade was a nitro Revo 3.3. I've still got it. Haven't run it since last year as the transmitter is having a fit. I want to remove as many of the electronics from it as I can, install a receiver box like that found in a Slash or Stampede. Also I would like to install a lipo battery instead of the nihm. I've been putting it off as I have 11 other RCs that I've been messing with. Probably next spring I'll revamp the nitro Revo and run it more than I did this year. My first "Slash" was going to be the version with the OBA unit in it, but about the same time the Unlimited Desert Racer was introduced. I got the UDR instead after much debating and I snagged one up. Probably one of the latter first batch or early second batch. I didn't pre-order it but got one as soon as Traxxas' site no longer showed it as "pre-order". The UDR was my third RC at the time of release. I can recall saying that the Revo was going to be my only RC, then I got the Summit because I needed parts for my Revo and hated the down time waiting on parts. Now I've got a boat, two planes, and 9 surface RCs. All ranging from nitro to two stroke to electric. The 2 stroke is my favorite and my biggest. I can also recall a time when I said the UDR was going to be the biggest RC I get (at least in scale) but got my first 1/6 scale in the form of the Losi Super Rock Rey. The 5ive T is my newest, but I've still got two that I've never used. A plane (because I'm not skilled enough to use yet) F-18 Hornet 80mm EDF and a Losi Super Baja Rey 1.0.

Once you get hooked you just can’t stop getting new rcs. Personally I like getting different rcs because they are all their own experience. There is certain feelings and characteristics that each rc possesses and brings out. Which is why it’s so great. Sometimes I feel like running my 1/5, sometimes my Xmaxx or Slash so it all depends on how I’m feeling. I don’t have any experience with Nitro but I hope you get yours fixed up and running! 😊

I have a Traxxas slash 4x4 vxl and an Arrma senton 4x4 3s and their both super fun and durable. I just picked up a Traxxas slash 2wd a couple weeks ago and turned it into a sand rail and it's great on sand and durable.

Nice man! I seriously considered purchasing a Senton 3S but I decided to go with the cheapest 2wd slash instead just because I’ve never had an electric 2wd machine before. I wanted to try it out.

I started with a redcat cyclone Xb-10 the best 2wd brushed buggy. Now it’s brushless 3670 3800kv motor on 3s. 25t pinion and tops out at 42.

4:05 With the body on, mark the blue tube of the antenna for the height limit of the roof. Remove the body, pull on the wire to bring it inside the chassis untill the tip reach the place you need to cut the tube. Cut the tube, put the cap back on, tape the wire inside the chassis so it stays fixed, BOOM the antenna is now fully inside your truck!! (I did that on day 5 after i bought the truck, that means today!!)
