FIRST Running Video OF “the Cheapest” Traxxas SLASH RTR Model YOU can BUY!! Is It Any GOOD??

  • In this video I drive my Traxxas slash 2wd xl-5 model for the first time. It is completely bone stock in this video. Running it on a Traxxas Brand NIMH Battery. This is the “cheapest” Traxxas Slash model you can buy. It is equipped with a brushed 12t Titan 550 Motor and a Waterproof xl-5 esc. I give you my impression of the first drive letting you know what to expect out of a bone stock machine like this. I also strap a Gps on the rig to see what kind of speed it can do right out of the box.

Thank you! From here I’m gonna be doing another video with the optional gearing to see how much more speed it brings. It will probably slow down the acceleration a bit which isn’t really all that fast to begin with. The thing definitely needs some more speed, especially when it’s in the grass.

honest fair video. have jumped back in to rc after a 35 yr exit. have 3 of these, and all have been GREAT at my short course track! many hours of fun racing and bashing! with friends family! sure a couple of broken small items, but have a supply of parts to fix as needed. BIGGest saver is s 1/2" tube (plastic water line is best for flex)I used as a bumper slightly wider than tire width, held on with zip tys. and I like making add ons as I have skid plates on all from bumper to bumper.YEAH HA!!

The newer 2wd slashes now come with a 16 tooth pinion and 90 tooth spur stock the older trucks had a 19 tooth and I feel it was better the 16 tooth gives longer run times and lower motor temps but the 19 was fine for all around running and made it a little more exiting to drive
