  • @johncitizenmedia8864
    @johncitizenmedia8864 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you consider giving the old one a good clean out before buying an entire new assembly? the valves just get caked up with gunk and need a soak in some parts cleaner or petrol and a blow out with compressed air.

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I concidered it, even asked a Maserati tech who is a member of the Maserati Facebook groups, and he confirmed my suspicion. It may not fix the issue and even if it did it would not last long.

    Hey James have you had any issues with your Air Vents ? Mine only blows cold on the 2 driver vents and warm on the other 2 vents. I looked around and I read it’s the actuators... Do you happen to know where there located and how to replace them?

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the same issue when I bought mine. I brought it to the dealership and they installed a softwareupdate that fixed mine. It did not fix it right away. But a couple days later I noticed it was working again. I guess the computer needs to learn what position the actuator is in. But it has been working ever since.

    Good stuff! Have you ever had to replace the oil pressure switch? Or would you know where its located? My pressure is normal, oil is right in between but still getting the low oil light, Thanks.

      @@JamesDIYGarage About a month ago it turned on, and turned off by itself. Now it's been on for a few days this week, so I ended topping the oil off to the high line.. I've ran it normally keeping an eye on the oil pressure, and the pressure doesn't show any sudden drops or fluctuations of any sort. Made me think it was just a bad switch.

    Hello I have a 2018 ghibli but mine has a ticking noise coming from the valve cover and just gets louder as you rev it did yours do the same thing or was it a different issue

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is the high pressure fuel pump and is completely normal. I have two videos on this. th-cam.com/video/_HFlwM_rFLw/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/wdkj3zpi0BE/w-d-xo.html . In the second video I show the noise coming from 3 different Ghiblis. That video has chapters in it, so you can go to the part where I show the ticking coming from 3 ghiblis.

    Im planning to buy the same from scuderia, for items 11 and 12, how many should I order? You also could've bought item 1 which is the oil disareator, instead of buying the pipe correct me if im wrong? Becaue the main issue was the Oil disareator

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could, but the seals in the back of the heads could be bad as well. It's best to just replace the whole system. At least for me because my car had the PCV Howl issue. Replacing the whole system fixed it. If I replaced just the disareator and it did not fix the issue I would have had to order rest of the system anyhow.

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jassimmdashti Its not good for the front and rear main seals. It could damage them and make them leak oil. Thats a bad thing, expensive to fix. It is a lot cheaper to replace the oil vapor recirculation system asap.
