Put an LS in it! My GS460 smelt like an ashtray, really really bad which is why I got it so cheap - I squirted piles of commercial cleaner through the air ducts, replaced the cabin filter, and ran a ozone generator in it overnight, now it smells great - so it's not impossible to fix.

Kbb trade in used to be right on the money with manheim mmr, because trade in value was dealer wholesale value. Now because of erroneous condition reports, manheim wholesale cars can be $500-1500 over kbb trade in easily.

During the madness of the used car market from 2020-2022 I flipped several vehicles. One of them was a 2014 Ghibli SQ4 that I had for about 6 months. It was a fully loaded one owner Texas car with 28k miles on it. The only issue I had was cosmetic. The leather on the upper dash had come up in a couple of places. It was taken care of through Carvana's warranty to the tune of nearly $10k, and I had to wait a month for the replacement to be made and shipped over from Italy. The car sounded amazing but was too heavy to be agile. Maintenance costs on the F160 engine are pretty ridiculous and the interior, even with the extended leather package, was just ok. I put about 6k miles on it and traded it in for the same price I paid for it. It checked a box on my automotive bucket list to own something Italian, but it wasn't all that special apart from the engine and the badge.

@@shaunportlock4924, yep, you heat the engine, and then that water decides to start running for some reason, it'll unevenly cool the engine.
From experience, engine can get pretty toasty and survive if there is coolant all around. When you have practically dry engine, water enters it or a bit of it evaporates from the depths of the water channels, it raises the pressure (evaporated water is something like 1000 times the displacement of the liquid) which gets cooling system running a bit again, water shoots in and then you get warped heads and all the good stuff. Actually, in those cases it might be better to not have water at all, but I guess it's all down to luck at some point.

    • @SiCrewe
      @SiCrewe 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ralphinator2 Think about it.
The radiator is attached to the engine by rubber hoses filled (in the absence of coolant) with air.
How, exactly, is the heat of the engine supposed to get to the radiator?
Through the rubber hoses and air?
The temperature sensor is usually in the radiator - NOT in the engine - so all it reads is the temperature of the air inside the radiator, which is being cooled by ambiant air blowing through the radiator as the car moves.
To say that's a "fairy tale" is to admit you've never actually been in a car with a burst radiator or examined an engine with a ruptured head gasket that's pissing boiling water while the radiator hoses are stone cold.
Beats me why some people become aggressive when confronted with something they don't understand.

Driving a longish trip on I-75 one Florida summer and before setting out I tried using one of those temporary gasket "repair" fluids. Still had to stop every once in a while to top off the coolant, but on the road the temp gauge would alternate between being pegged in the red zone and back to normal. Maybe some of the coolant/oil mixture plus the repair gunk would occasionally "clot" and bung up coolant circulation periodically??

I know someone who leased a vehicle, never even checked the oil, and at 53,000 miles, the tires were bald, the motor had lower end noise, the dipstick wasn't even registering, and was sludged up. People now, still abuse these vehicle's, and do zero maintenance, and i would never buy a previously leased vehicle for this reason. Many of these leased vehicle's are auctioned off because they are so bad, at least that's what a guy i know who sells car's tells me. You know it's bad if a person gets free oil changes when leasing a vehicle, but just don't have the time, or just don't care, because they are turning it in to just trash the next one. G-d bless.

Even the tires need to have about 50% left at the return otherwise they will charge for new tires as well. Severely overdue service I dont know what happens but it wont be cheap. Used prices have dropped drastically on Maserati because they put the pride flag on their F1 car.

Could be the valley oil cooler. Those were notorious for leaking, due to being plastic on the 3.6L engines Dodge/Chrysler used.

Truly can't believe these manufacturers are getting away with this. There are companies like Toyota on one side of the spectrum and garbage like this and the JLR shockers on the other.

That V6 is a downstroked & boosted Pentastar spruced up by Ferrari. The one in the Giulia Quadrifoglio is the good one (flat crank goodness) derived from the Ferrari California V8.

I was wondering where the engine in these came from - Makes sense that they're just based off the ubiquitous Pentastar V6 considering how much else about this car is shared with generic Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep models - The 3.6L and 3.2L Pentastar's aren't terribly unreliable from what I've read though so I don't see how these would be all that much different aside from the added complexity of twin turbochargers I guess.

It's a totally different casting .based on the pentastar..with ferrari heads..better crank..rods..thicker cylinder walls.sharing most components from the f154...so to say it's a pentastar is a lie..

It's a great engine if serviced properly .there are no widespread failures on this engine
