I see you mention the car smells like smoke a couple times in a video you sound like a Karen these are jokes so don’t take it personally but you say the people you brought it from are supposed to let you know about that maybe the guy who did the inventory on the car smokes also Everybody smokes weed. Ok Hoovie...this is no surprise here. LOL..
How about a BMW 640 or 650? I'm fascinated about these amazing looking but completely POS cars.
Put an LS in it! My GS460 smelt like an ashtray, really really bad which is why I got it so cheap - I squirted piles of commercial cleaner through the air ducts, replaced the cabin filter, and ran a ozone generator in it overnight, now it smells great - so it's not impossible to fix.
Face it Hoovie. You can't buy a cheap ANYTHING.

Dont be like me buying an 8k car fixing it for $8k then selling it for $10k without making content, I think Hoovie has a better model.

I'm a dealer, I argued with manheim today because the condition reports no longer mention mechanical either! Literally a leaking or knocking engine, will not be mentioned!
Failing to disclose odors, engine lights and engine knock is beyond crooked! It's inflating the CR, which inflates MMR!
It's sickening how shady this is.
Yet KBB says my 2016 MKZ trade-in is $3400 while the cheapest comparable one I can find for sale is $9500😂
@wilc4036 well, cox automotive owns kbb. They own Carfax, Manheim and autotrader as well. They definitely work amongst themselves to make trade in low on kbb, CRs inflated at manheim, Carfax retail high for dealers and autotrader, etc.
Kbb trade in used to be right on the money with manheim mmr, because trade in value was dealer wholesale value. Now because of erroneous condition reports, manheim wholesale cars can be $500-1500 over kbb trade in easily.
I always consider every car from manheim in as-is condition. No matter what bs the seller and the spineless auction discloses. Green light or a good cr grade doesn’t really mean anything 🤷🏻♂️
I bought a salvage titled car that ran perfectly. Body was perfect. It was totaled because insurance did not want to deal with interior smell and called it "flood" damage.
I hate it when Consumer Reports is inflated. But Measles, Mumps, and Rubella being affected is the worst.

It pains me to see a car overheating and not shut down even if it is already ruined. Like all these guys who start up the cars in the auction yard without even knowing if it has engine oil.
Gotta love Hoovie - boldly going where no sane person would dare to tread...
Wizard hears the revving outside and just knows the bill is already going up!
The Hoovies Garage channel really is a public service for all of us gear-heads. Hoovie buys 15-30ish year old examples of the dream cars we all desired in our youth; we watch him separate the classic and soon-to-be classics into what is totally worth your time & money vs what are guaranteed crappy money pits; and the ad revenue from our viewership lets him turn a profit despite burning through money on car repair bills. Only in America, people!!! 😄

During the madness of the used car market from 2020-2022 I flipped several vehicles. One of them was a 2014 Ghibli SQ4 that I had for about 6 months. It was a fully loaded one owner Texas car with 28k miles on it. The only issue I had was cosmetic. The leather on the upper dash had come up in a couple of places. It was taken care of through Carvana's warranty to the tune of nearly $10k, and I had to wait a month for the replacement to be made and shipped over from Italy. The car sounded amazing but was too heavy to be agile. Maintenance costs on the F160 engine are pretty ridiculous and the interior, even with the extended leather package, was just ok. I put about 6k miles on it and traded it in for the same price I paid for it. It checked a box on my automotive bucket list to own something Italian, but it wasn't all that special apart from the engine and the badge.
I've seen these with way higher milage in way better condition. 100% the owner(s) fault.

The oil on the bottom of the engine is from a previous oil change. If you don't know what you're doing, removing the oil filter causes oil to dump onto the a/c compressor like that. Someone did an oil change, got oil everywhere, then didn't clean it. I see it all the time on those. It's not a leak.
Exactly same as my Abarth.

Classic Hoovie right here! Seeing as his Metherati with a similar engine had close to 60k between oil changes and survived, I'd say this had to have been overheated. Maybe the previous owner never put in coolant? Who knows...

@@USA__WILLA lift isn't necessary, but it sure is helpful.
Once a car has overheated and spat out a lot of coolant, the gauge WILL often read normal, or even cold, because the sensor is surrounded by air instead of liquid and it'll be cooled by the air flowing through the radiator.
Then it goes up again...... head gone.
@@shaunportlock4924, yep, you heat the engine, and then that water decides to start running for some reason, it'll unevenly cool the engine.
From experience, engine can get pretty toasty and survive if there is coolant all around. When you have practically dry engine, water enters it or a bit of it evaporates from the depths of the water channels, it raises the pressure (evaporated water is something like 1000 times the displacement of the liquid) which gets cooling system running a bit again, water shoots in and then you get warped heads and all the good stuff. Actually, in those cases it might be better to not have water at all, but I guess it's all down to luck at some point.
once the engine cooled the next day poured water in the radiator came out the tailpipe.
Where do you get this fairy tale? The sensor will be the same temperature as the hot engine part that it is attached to.
@@ralphinator2 Think about it.
The radiator is attached to the engine by rubber hoses filled (in the absence of coolant) with air.
How, exactly, is the heat of the engine supposed to get to the radiator?
Through the rubber hoses and air?
The temperature sensor is usually in the radiator - NOT in the engine - so all it reads is the temperature of the air inside the radiator, which is being cooled by ambiant air blowing through the radiator as the car moves.
To say that's a "fairy tale" is to admit you've never actually been in a car with a burst radiator or examined an engine with a ruptured head gasket that's pissing boiling water while the radiator hoses are stone cold.
Beats me why some people become aggressive when confronted with something they don't understand.
The moment you said smokers car, I could taste the smell in my throat 😂 Bought one smokers car, never again. You're right, you can never get rid of the smell.

People who lease a car, almost never change the oil, or do any maintenance. I worked at a dealership, many years ago, and the car's that came in were in bad shape. I know someone who leased a vehicle, never even checked the oil, and at 53,000 miles, the tires were bald, the motor had lower end noise, the dipstick wasn't even registering, and was sludged up. People now, still abuse these vehicle's, and do zero maintenance, and i would never buy a previously leased vehicle for this reason. Many of these leased vehicle's are auctioned off because they are so bad, at least that's what a guy i know who sells car's tells me. You know it's bad if a person gets free oil changes when leasing a vehicle, but just don't have the time, or just don't care, because they are turning it in to just trash the next one. G-d bless.
This is when I rely on Carfax to show me the service history, I don’t take the word of the seller that routine service was done by the owner. Also that’s why I take my vehicle into the dealer for routine services that way it is properly documented on Carfax so when I sell it I get top dollar.
Seems to be a good deal to lease a car in the US, in europe you have to pay (at least where I am) for everything that is not considered normal wear and they are picky at the return inspection, some have payed equal to 10.000$ for having kids scratching the interior and some minor scratches in the paint. Even the tires need to have about 50% left at the return otherwise they will charge for new tires as well. Severely overdue service I dont know what happens but it wont be cheap. Truly can't believe these manufacturers are getting away with this. There are companies like Toyota on one side of the spectrum and garbage like this and the JLR shockers on the other.
That V6 is a downstroked & boosted Pentastar spruced up by Ferrari. The one in the Giulia Quadrifoglio is the good one (flat crank goodness) derived from the Ferrari California V8.
I was wondering where the engine in these came from - Makes sense that they're just based off the ubiquitous Pentastar V6 considering how much else about this car is shared with generic Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep models - The 3.6L and 3.2L Pentastar's aren't terribly unreliable from what I've read though so I don't see how these would be all that much different aside from the added complexity of twin turbochargers I guess.
It's a totally different casting .based on the pentastar..with ferrari heads..better crank..rods..thicker cylinder walls.sharing most components from the f154...so to say it's a pentastar is a lie..
It's a great engine if serviced properly .there are no widespread failures on this engine
