Thank you this is awesome. I have done EFT, TFT, energy medicine like Donna Eden etc...etc...I can relate to this exercise that you demonstrated. I will do it as often as need be and for as long as need be. I'm tryin to get panic attacks under control.
@@dianeibsen5994 - I only have done some of her utube videos like "tracing the meridians with donna eden" and "31-Day Healthy Eye Challenge with Donna Eden".
Have you tried EMDR yet? This is what she mentioned in the video but did not demonstrate, you could find videos on youtube, if you are interested. Wishing you inner peace
I believe that for small traumas (memories of offenses or insults etc ..) it can also be done alone but for serious traumas (violence, earthquakes etc) then you have to do it with a therapist.
I’ve heard it’s not a good idea to use bilateral stimulation without a trained clinician present to assist or guide. What are your thoughts on this?? Thanks!
I did this and suddenly started crying intensely and like got panicked and was almost screaming but nothing was coming out and breathing rapid but eventually calmed down. Is that normal? Like it was a massive energy release?
it can release some heavy stuff and its risky to do it at home. i do it after practising with therapist and responding quite well. I would advise to do it slowly and with breaks for the breath, also not too long. but in your case i would do it with supervision.
EMDR can be very helpful and powerful, and with all due respect to Ms. Garvey, this is not really EMDR. EMDR follows a protocol in which the patient is helped to develop a frame of mind in which they are holding both the distressing thought as well as being aware of the bodily sensations simultaneously as they are bilaterally stimulated. Most importantly, a trained therapist is there to guide them and help them overcome any blocks / resistances that emerge and to assist them if they have an abreaction. (I'm oversimplifying it.) What is being demonstrated is mostly the bilateral stimulation part.
@Vatican Cameos Her voice is her voice. Turn the CC on and the volume down if it bothers you that much. Or better yet, watch one of the other 5 billion TH-cam videos available.
You could have just passed the video and not have left a mean comment . It’s nasty and negative and it hurts anyone who reads it . Completely unnecessary and does not provide anything positive .
My mother and grandmother would tap three times over and over until we would fall asleep. Very soothing
my grandma would tap twice ❤️
Thank you for teaching us this quick way to diminish an anxiety attack.

@@eeg122 ok. Thank you😊 I appreciate this. Did you do find the videos helpful? I am going to try them.
Hi there, you could try DARE or Wim Hof, both excellent for coping with anxiety 👍

I liked the smile/ smirk at the end. Like "this works but do not ask me how".

Thank you for the video, short and straight to the point!
Thank you! I forgot about what a comforting skill this is!

Hello, I would like to show this to a friend but her trauma is around the chest area. Any alternatives you recommend?
You can also do it on your knees or schoulders. Even walking works for me...
Same and I personally use the legs/knees
Where did you get your training? I'm trying to find a reputable training program. I'm an LMSW in NY
Hello. Leírná valaki magyaul?

yes, but bilateral stimulation in itself, esp. in slow pace, can be soothing.
Interesting. I am doing EMDR and it decidedly is NOT effective for "soothing" (for me, anyway).
So basically its a souped up eft?
Heck no, research dude, so different 👍🏼💖
🙏💐
It will also help you look crazy so that everyone in the room leaves you alone, haha!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
it makes me extremely dysphoric and causes anxiety attack. it doesn't work as intended, I assume
This didnt work.
This is butterfly tapping.
