      From IT: ENTP needs a team who will be implementing his ideas, ENTJ is rather autonomous to implement his ideas himself. ENTP focuses on the work process (like methodology, best practices, technologies used) while ENTJ is always targeted on the result considering the rest of things as means to achieve it. ENTP tries to use in a project as much as possible popular technologies arguing with potential future cases and applications, while ENTJ is more "minimalistic" in his decisions and only uses means that really required.

    ENTJ’s like closure - finishing things. They are also better planners for the future, figuring Plan B and Plan C just in case Plan A doesn’t pan out. ENTP’s tend to be late or have a different relationship with time. ENTP also seem to be more logical than practical or rational. Great for idea generating.

    • @mygoogleacount
      @mygoogleacount 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      that's not necessarily true, just a natural tendency, and a well developed Ti usually can more than make up for that lack of a natural desire for planning. that we don't usually make plans for our future and we rather imagine it, as very well explained in the video, doesn't mean we can't be very good planners when reacting to the need of a plan in our surroundings. in fact ENTPs can be better planners for the unconventional - I work in high-end technology projects and I'm usually the go-to guy when planning for something that is not streamlined (call it a program to develop a solution instead of a plan, if you so wish so), and there the breadth of solutions needs to be pretty high precisely because of the possibility of just a few, or none, of those plans leading to an actual solution.
      (agree though, I hate staying there where the proper solution for something has already been found)

      @@mmbaha9572 LOL! I am ENTJ too. I am 70 years old. Let me tell you, in my generation, growing up in the 50’s and 60’s, it was not easy being this type as a female. Not considered “feminine “ enough. Because I was not that comfortable with excessive feelings of others, I wasn’t as empathetic as I needed to be for others. I like to solve problems, not wallow in my sorrow. So I try to do the same for others. Feel crappy? Here is what you need to do and you’ll feel better. Not always a welcome idea to some! When I make up my mind to do something, I dive right into it with vigor, despite the obstacles. Over time, I have learned the art of listening and being more empathetic and “soft”;when the situation needs that. It is a learned skill that can bring positive results.

    If you ask an ENTP a question, you will get 5 answers, minimum. ENTPs like to wander along a foggy path to their answer. If ENTJs don't give you a direct answer, it will only be because they needed to provide a small amount of context. Ne is the most obvious of all the cognitive functions.

    Thank you SO MUCH for clearing the fog. For the past days I've been blaming my judging for feeling frustrated with work, and tried to force some P into my life, but it doesn't work exactly that way. You can't scape the functions after all.
    Though I relate to a lot of ENTP stuff, it's undeniable that I matured into ENTJ, from highschool to college. I still can brainstorm and see things from different perspectives, but I'll only do it if it's effective for the sake of progress hahahaha!
    If I can give an advice to my fellow ENTJs seeking peace (as some probably got here by questioning the type), what I learned of most value is to appreciate silence and abstain from talking, from time to time. We know a lot, but we don't need to show it everytime - let others steer the conversations when they feel like it. And when someone is being too emotional (or even dumb), we gotta fight the urge to generate opinions and ask some questions instead.
    That's been very useful to me, and might help you as well.

      @Cirkular thanks for the questions, they are hard for me to answer, though. I basically live in systems and organize everything, but I change those systems so quickly that it’s actually chaotic. Also, I was in the military and had a great time, but my experience there was rather unusual as I was in a paratroopers unit and we were rather disobedient, got punished a lot and enjoyed it and also pushed each other how far and fast we could go. I did not stay because I never stay anywhere long, but what I do, I do 100% and also finish it. My life feels like short ENTJ episodes interrupted by ENTP destruction feasts.

    Late comer here, but I have come to realize that you can learn a lot about type by looking at people who aren't fully developed as a type. Since most people have average to lower than average development as a person (or cognitively), if you know about looping it can help you figure out a type. ENTJ and ENTP are a good case example here -- since Se is the third function and ENTJs retreat to it, but Se is the 8th function for ENTP. If you know someone who (as I like to say) likes to hit the sensory hard in play -- they are very action oriented and can sometimes seem ESTPish, then more likely ENTJ. Similar with ENTP -- if the person is more likely to be social but focused on engaging with others in a group or trying to disarm or flatter others, not necessarily do the hard sensory action, they are more likely entp than entj. This works for types in different stacks, but not when they are lead or aux of each other. E.g., it's harder to do this with entp and enfp b/c both use a lot of T and F, and it isn't always so clear that they are Te v. Fe or Ti v. Fi. Same for other types that share similar aux and tertiary,

    They have different voices. You can hear the Fe (sing song tone) vs Te (mouthful of marbles rumble tone). ( I think there are ENTPs that mbti people mistype as ENTJ...)

    • @Faliat
      @Faliat 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not too sure about that. Your speech pattern can be heavily dependant on the people around you and how they speak so you could be surrounded by Fe users and have that tone of voice through exposure despite not using Fe. All of my immediate family uses Fe (ESFJ and ISTP) and as an ENTJ it's difficult getting people to realise I am one based on my voice alone because my speech patterns developed from mimicking my parents and growing up alongside my ESTP sister and ENFJ cousin.
      People tend to listen to how I speak rather than what I say when determining what face to put on when communicating with me and it frustrates me to no end when people assume I'm someone I'm not because of something as trivial as my speech pattern. Showing just how disingenuous they are by switching on a dime or getting confused as to how to behave next when I break those assumptions.

    I still have some confusion. It really just depends on my mood what I do, I can procastinate or stay up till midnight completing my shit. It's just whatever I feel like doing. I relate more to the ENTP stereotype tho, arguing and stuff. But I also like to take the leadership role, anger issues too. All though something that makes me REALLY feel like an ENTJ except the fact that I like the leadership role is that I often become hostile and violent when I get angry (and I get angry pretty damn easily) but also, I enjoy arguing. Make a plan B and I feel like I also cover up my personality infront of some people because usually I am harsh and have no trouble pointing out flaws. But sometimes I can just transform into an ENFJ and shit but that's just a manipulative thing I do ig

    I feel like I'm an ENTP but I am not expressive. I struggle with identifying and expressing my emotions and I usually discard them. I for sure want to reason them out. But I don't express them. Like people really have to prise feelings out of me, I'm really having a hard time with coming out in the open with them. And even though I'm not structured and organised, I need structure and organisation in order to achieve the best results. I do like to plan ahead and have backup plans for things because I can't bear the thought of failing at sth, not succeeding. But when the moment comes I will reevaluate and reassess the situation and if I see it fit I will drop the og backup plans and draft a new one that feels more fitting to the needs and the new parameters of the situation.

And an ENTP will have a steam library that rivals Alexandria. ENTP is just chaotic genius. What is not known about these types is how loyal they are. They just don't let many people into their inner circle. So they can be the best of friends. But chances are they'll kill one another first because of how different their vibes are.

    Im in quite a dilemma. I am very much an ENTP in social settings. Ive grown up around ExxP personalities and use huge amounts of Ne, Ti, Fe and Si on a daily basis. The differences in my social life make it difficult for me to see which functions i personally prefer. I feel way more solution oriented, organised and planned out compared to my ENTP peers. So, one has to figure out which way one prefers most versus which one might have been forced to employ by circumstance of dealing with people who suffer from extreme dysfunction ?Hmm .. I need more information. I am unable to say, because, I grew up in a household full of people who didn't like me to talk but also wanted me to give a full explanation for everything I did or did not do, but then would accuse me "You ALWAYS have an excuse for EVERYTHING!" and tell me all the detail means I am lying.
