Where are all of these people that want to talk for hours about stuff. As an ENTP myself, basically all the people I've encountered are not willing to talk or debate stuff. Which bores the hell out of me. And I seem to bore them just as much. Also, great video!

DiNozzo431 I agree. I feel like everytime I talk to my wife about an idea or something learned recently, she seems as if she isn't interested. Then she gets offend when I disprove an idea of hers or something a friend of hers told her. Still love her though.

ENTP female here. I don't seek out debates. I like to just bounce with ideas after I have found friends. but I do believe a lot of people have probably gotten irritated with my way of debating. maybe I should be seeking out debates with people? idk. I currently have two INFJ friends (that I know of). one male one female. I choose my debates wisely because most people get irritated with discussion. I suppose that makes me in the same boat as yourself. I litter won't go to Bible studies though unless there is room for creative interpretation. I can't STAND going off a script and just having rote answers. what am I, a robot? I love love love debating and just the bounce and flow of ideas and learning ahhh I'm getting all excited thinking about it. hahaha

You're unfortunate enough to not have met any friends that operate on anything even close to your intellectual level. I've been extremely blessed in that area. It takes an incredible amount of work-around to trick yourself into enjoying talking to most people. With the right people conversational arguments just flow naturally, and it's fantastic.

I like to put the connection between INFJs and ENTPs (I'm one) in this one sentence:
*_"An ENTP can show the INFJ the outside world, but an INFJ can show the ENTP his inside world."_*
And yes, I totally just made that one up, but I think it's very true. The way that INFJs can understand us is beyond incredible and you (INFJs) can by far explain us way better than we can explain ourselves, which is quite recordbreaking considering that our nickname is the "debaters" and that for a good reason.
You really know how we tick, I love it !

INTP is said to be the Golden Pair for INFJ, but ENTP works because they add in the Extroversion that INTP lacks.
With ENTP having goals and ambition in life, actually wanting to step-up and do better, they never feel good enough, meanwhile INTP is lazy, they don't care to do hardly anything.
So, the ENTP is far more demanding on themselves, and that is great for getting the more Ambivert/Introverted INFJ out of their shell, and socializing with other people IRL offline ~

Haha as an ENTP I'm feeling so flattered by your video. You give me a really good feel in my gut from all your good saying about "us". But you shouldn't forget that there are weaknesses to ENTP's as well. Such as we easily get bored with what we're doing which resultes in jumping from activity to activity. ENTP's can also have a problem in relationships because of their "discussions" which can easily be taken for arguing. I'm ENTP:ing all over this place. Sorry.

    • @philippezevenberg1332
      @philippezevenberg1332 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

INFJ's struggle with that too but I don't see it as a weakness. Plus there are ways to defuse situations and make the other parties understand that it is just a discussion and it's up to them to decide if they like the subject or feel too much discomfort thinking about the topic, then you ask why they have this discomfort and listen to what they say because sometimes the reasons are interesting and... I'm INFJ:ing all over this place, aren't I? Sorry.

    • @kyurei4478
      @kyurei4478 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

It's just because of your Ne that naturally makes you easily bored. Ni people on the other hand are hardly bored but they can feel not intellectually stimulated enough and get bored because of that. But it's true you guys tend to argue about everything even if it's just to discuss about it and sometimes we can't make any progress in a discussion and come to the main point because we have to argue/discuss every previous point. For most people discussing is reaching the main point and possibly come to an agreement and end the discussion but you guys want to discuss every single point when it's sometimes less interesting than the main one and you're missing this more valuable insight. As INFJs we get that easily because usually when we engage in a conversation we already have the main point in mind early on and we get misunderstood regularly because others need more time to figure out the depth we're already at. We're going too fast and you guys are going too slow basically so we both get misunderstood in discussions. I'm not judging anything btw, that's just an observation.

I'm INFJ, my uncle is ENTP, He doesn't know this but He's my favorite person in the family 😀 ENTPs are quick, witty thinkers with a sassy comeback ; INFJs think carefully, but they are never trivial. They are a winning combination, but I have always wondered how the fact that INFJs are so slow in speaking and tend to stammer / take long pauses doesn't bother ENTPs, who instead communicate quickly and are also quite direct 🤔

I'm an INFJ woman married to an ENTP man. When it's good it is amazing, we speak our own language. When it's bad and our flaws and insecurities rear their heads it is an indescribable misery for us. He would love me and never leave me, but when I'm frustrated because we're going round and round and shit never gets resolved, I feel so incompatible and dysfunctional because of how he acts that it makes me crazy. When I read the debater ENTP profile this morning I realized that I can't even remember or give examples of how the traits he have make me feel good or happy. I can only read it and feel like he can't help making me nuts and angry. It's so disheartening to me that we should be great together but circumstances, history, and choices are a battlefield we crawl through to get to opposing sides and we never win.

I'm an ENTP feels weird to hear people talk about the chemistry between INFJs and ENTP, cuz I have an INFJ sibling and I feel like our personalities tend to clash a lot lol. But we get on better now, and I totally know what you mean about talking together for hours. Me and my sis have these random deep conversations every so often that last for like hours, and they never seem long enough! I have 3 INFJs that I'm close to, and our conversations are never boring. Interesting that we were all drawn to each other as an ENTP/INFJ combo. Also, I totally do the debating both sides thing. I just feel like I have to explore every angle to have a valid argument, so I often go back and forth in my arguments as I explore the full problem before I reach a conclusion.
    Very interesting video. 👍

This video makes me all sorts of happy, I'm a fellow INFJ and my best friend is an ENTP and everything in this video I was just here like "yes, yes, yes, oh my god yes that is him." One thing that you didn't mention in this (or more so didn't elaborate on) was that when they really get going on a idea or something they are passionate about, there is no way in hell that you will be able to get anything in when they are on a roll about that idea, and there is no way you are going to be able to say anything for a good solid five minuets until he's done. But afterwords he's just like "shit sorry, what did you want to add?" But honestly I don't mind because what he is saying is fascinating so I love to listen to him anyways, but when I say my ideas he's all ears until I say something that makes him go "oh! Yes, that AND...." Then he goes on another five minuet ramble.
TBH I could go on and on about ENTP and INFJ but that would be another 50 odd lines so I'm going to stop here. I hope you make a part two and it'd be nice if you touched on what they do that makes us want to pull our hair out, namely on the issues of when they are like "Hey let's go do this thing that I just thought of!" "I'd love to but I can't because a) we need to do some planing for it and b) I have other responsibilities that restricts me from doing said thing at this time with no prior notice." "Fuck it anyways, let's just do this thing!" "I can't!" "Yes you fucking can! Don't be a little bitch! Fuck responsibilities!" "No, not fuck responsibilities! You should have told me that you wanted to do this last week!" "I didn't think of this last week! I only thought of it now! Live a little, woman!" "Oh my goddddddddd, nooooooo." Then again that could only be us haha.

+ShiroxYume What it is that ENTPs find interesting about INFJs? Well I think the answer if fairly obvious. INFJs carry a distinct insight into others that is usually not as present in other types. Their rare and there is a lot of crap going on in their psyche. When the ENTP looks in people for their potential for entertainment. The possibility scale of an INFJ is off the charts. Even the fact that kind of mask the fact of their type only makes the ENTP more excited to explore when they catch on. It's simple really, it's fun.

As a ENTP the biggest thing that annoyed me is that my school grades were bad I got lots of C - D's however that's because I got so bored easily and hardly ever paid attention in class, and couldn't be bothered to revise it's just so boring; In 2012 and 2014 I almost got into the English chess team which is a pretty intellectual game however some people at school just dismissed this and thought I was stupid because of my school grades, yet coming that close to playing in the English chess team is a lot more complex then boring GCSE's.
My view on these people is that they weren't very bright even though they're in the top sets and I gave a good explanation to them, they failed to have a understanding and wanted to keep their smug faces on even though I was probably more logical then them.

The ENTP, often referred to as having a "Christmas tree brain," tends to have a mind filled with various ideas and possibilities, much like the diverse and colorful branches of a Christmas tree. They are creative, spontaneous, and love exploring new concepts.
On the other hand, the INFJ, known for their "spiderweb brain," possesses a highly intricate and interconnected thought process. They tend to see the bigger picture and understand the underlying patterns and connections between different ideas, much like the complex and delicate structure of a spiderweb. INFJs are empathetic, insightful, and value deep connections with others.
When these two personalities come together, their contrasting thinking styles can complement each other in remarkable ways. The ENTP's ability to generate innovative ideas and explore different possibilities can inspire the INFJ's spiderweb brain to analyze and understand the underlying patterns and connections. The INFJ's deep insights and empathetic nature can also provide a grounding influence on the ENTP's sometimes scattered thinking.
In essence, the ENTP and INFJ can form a powerful partnership where the ENTP's creativity and exploration combine with the INFJ's analytical skills and depth of understanding. Together, they can bring unique perspectives, innovative solutions, and a harmonious balance of creativity and practicality to any situation they encounter.

One of the reasons we (ENTP) make such a good pair with the INFJ is that we balance each other out.
In classic ENTP fashion, my brain is all over the place like Ricochet Rabbit, and I have difficulty staying focused and on mission. My INFJ friend helps me pick out the good ideas from the not so good. She also encourages me, keeps me on task, and pushes me to follow through.

Fun fact about that little phenomenon, especially when it comes to drawing intuitive conclusions with Ne-Ti. While it may seem like we’ve thought it out before (much of the time we have), or that it takes a long time for us jump down those rabbit holes, it really doesn’t take but less than maybe half a second for the entire “node-link chain” to come barreling through our minds at a blistering pace which our tongues can only dream to match, even if we’re considering something for the first time. Which is why we have to talk so fast. Lol
Yes, this entire comment, including this last bit and much more which I am electing not to include, all accosted my brain in what feels like a fraction of a second. How do we remember it all when we talk, what with this awful memory of ours, you ask? Just follow the chain down the links. Almost like bringing a rope through a maze and following it back to the entrance, I guess. Don’t know if this made sense.

7:15 ENTPs live inside the box, but their minds are outside the box. We don't approach issues in the same way most other people approach them. So for example I used to work as an IT engineer, I came across other engineers who had completed the MSCE course, they would approach a problem 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. Where as I would approach things 1,2, 8,5,9,6,7. My approach might seem strange almost chaotic, but it's because I rely heavily on my intuition and experience. Therefore when dealing with a problem I start with the most likely causes of the issue and then work from there. We do the same in conversations where we often understand what you are saying half way through a sentence.

I agree with a lot of this. (I feel like I say that for all your videos, haha!) One of my close friends is an ENTP. Sometimes the constant debating really drains me though, because she will literally try to debate everything just for the sake of debating. And often times the random (or seemingly random from my pov) ideas she'll come up with seem so illogical that it frustrates me that she's trying to argue their validity. However, I am drawn to her enthusiasm, the fact that she can get me to do spontaneous things (which I typically dread), and I do enjoy that we can have really lengthy, deep conversations.

This is just a personal preference though and if some people do not like it I can easily edit it out :)
haha I know what you mean about the ENTP ramble it is quite humorous!:)

That's very true I have noticed some people: who I was sure would expect me to be weird, and came across as shallow and extraverted and crazy in a fun way, to be drawn to me and share an interest in more intelligent conversations, I never had to explain myself and they thought all of my nerdy;) hobbies were cool and when I first met them I'd be guarded and then look stupid when they made me laugh for the rest of the school year, I had already labeled the new ideas as sparks, I enjoyed their self generation of fun and how spontaneous they were, and they are attractive on an I don't mind seeing you during my introverted time way :)

I am an Enneagram Type 2/ MBTI type 2 ENTP. I personally can relate to all of that because I have an Enneagram type 1w2/ INFJ mother who was simply made for that role as we are on the same waves all the time... Super intellectual discussions full of ideas go on non-stop when we start discussing simply anything... Incredible match :D

The part where you describe being somewhere and losing yourself in stimulating conversation for hours....I absolutely love that....it’s a crazy good feeling....especially when you’re getting what is being talked about because I don’t think many ppl think like or understand how we ENTPs really think. It’s cool that you get it. At least there is someone that does. Lol

Love your videos!!! I've been an INFJ confirmed since sophomore year of high school (about 8 years ago). 24, starting a Ph.D in business psych next year (somewhat regret not doing clinical since I love one-on-on). Any who... I dated an ESFP over a year ago and cannot get over the awesome-life love-about the now-genuine fool.
I've read other forums and it appears ESFPs are notorious for leaving an INFJ heart broken but simultaneously enamored by their authenticity.
Any way (sorry for rambling). Advice?
Again, LOVE your videos! Make me feel like I'm not an alien for my idealistic thoughts!

My best friend is an ENTP (I am INFJ). We always have the most fun with each other, and she is probably the smartest, or at least the wittiest, person I know. And she is so hilarious! I definitely agree with INFJs keeping ENTPs grounded, and I definitely agree that we both are continuously learning things about each other. I distinctly remember her saying how she always is learning something new about me. It is interesting to reflect on our friendship, because it has definitely been an adventure through these past couple of years. I love hearing her perspective on things, and she keeps me on my toes!!~

Male INFJ here, my dad is ENTP, we have so much fun together, he is one of my best buddies.
Dude gets obsessive about his few interests, though. (chess, cards, meditation, and then whatever videogame he is obsessed with that year)
The debate point is valid, he takes the opposing side frequently to induce the viewing of new perspectives, regardless of if he has any personal stake in it. It drives people crazy sometimes, though. I usually do that as well, though. I think it has to do with Ti, in order to break down the topic to its finest point you need to explore both sides of the coin and meet in the middle.

Phew. You nailed it! Your point about how ENTPs and INFJs often reach the same conclusions was really astute. I think it has something to do with the shared (yet inverted) middle functions. This makes for a strong anchor while allowing each party to shine with their unique strengths. I once dated an INFJ who would just blindside me with her Ni insights. We're still good friends, and I just interviewed her for my channel. Can't wait to edit it and get it uploaded. :)

As an INFJ, I can completely understand the attraction to ENTPs. I've dated two of them, but I've found that in the end, they're immaturity ruins things for me. I don't know if it's an ENTP thing or not, but the ones I've met have all been pretty self-absorbed and cold to the feelings of others which is really unattractive. Their whole complex with being smart but not applying themselves is incredibly infuriating to me too. I don't know. ENTPs are definitely fun at first, they're easy to be around, and we have good chemistry, but there's too much in the end that ruins it for me. I'm an ENFP girl lol

    • @magister343
      @magister343 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

INTP may be a better match for you then. We tend to mature faster and are more concerned with how others (particularly those we care about) feel. The "complex with being smart but not applying themselves" would not be any better though.

  • @kboite

I think I'm starting to see what this ENTP/INFJ thing is all about. There might be less love (or more accurately desire) at first sight than with INTJs (quite physical chemistry), but there seems to be some smooth energy coming out of INFJs. I'm just seeing myself slowly absorbed into some reassuring, comforting, mystical atmosphere while you speak.
    Can't INFJs come as a sleep timer ? :p
Would be worth all the counting sheep or relaxing music of the world !
Or maybe it's the lipstick (looks absolutely gorgeous).

My Ex HAD to be an INFJ. I broke up because of my impulsivity which was in retrospective a bad idea. My theory about the "mutual interest" is the following: ENTP like to explore new things but we get cluttered and need some guidance. Also, we feel that other people find our understanding of emotions to be too shallow which is clearly not. And exactly that is easily compensated by INFJ because they give us the rigidit, stability and guidance we need and also we help them coming out of their shell and feeling validated while also keeping them interested.
    It's a win-win
So my theory goes as the following: if you can easily compensate the weaknesses of each other there is a big affection.
