    As usual, Shu, a clear comparison between two great apps.
    The main problem (which you do not cover) is the "flash in the pan" of these great applications - "knowledge for the moment."
    [Q1] Have the developers of these apps. built in the possibility of exporting your hard earned knowledge?
    [Q2] Equally, do the developers allow you to import your previously gained knowledge from (say) Evernote, MyPocket, Instapaper?
    All the points covered in your excellent review and comparison are really interesting and useful but, IMO, with all knowledge management tools the information garnered must be transferable - otherwise it is uselessly lying in some vault that within time will be inaccessable.

    Agree with you Shu about MyMind. Easy to gather and to find information. I still use Walling but for other structured tasks.

    I love mymind... even more than Walling. BUT, their lack of an iPad app and no plans on making one is a deal breaker for me. Mymind’s excellent auto tagging is what makes it special and that happens on the backend, server side. So there’s no reason for not at least making the effort. Yes, you can drag and drop into it using a browser, but it’s a pain in the ass. :)

    Thanks for the comparison! I had tried mymind and then bought a year of Walling. But I think you've convinced me to give mymind another try. Because I really have no patience for tagging things manually. Also, GREAT production values!

    Weird. One year later I got into Walling's page and it feels like they become something totally different, like a productive Kanban board kind of thing. I wonder if it's still good for bookmarks.

    I found one thing is that mymind can't automatically add tags for other languages (e.g., Japanese). If they can support more languages, that would be awesome.

    they both are good, I think. However, if one needs to tag what they've clipped to access the content later, then what would be the need to move from the traditional Evernote/Notion type of Apps? I suppose Mymind has just what it takes to tilt the scales.

    Thanks for the amazing comparison! Have you had any problems with the AI tagging feature of mymind with Japanese articles? I've been trying mymind after I watched your previous video, but the AI tagging feature seems much worse with Japanese articles(compared to English ones) and I'm wondering if its worth it to keep on using mymind.

    • @ShuOmi_Official
      @ShuOmi_Official  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When it comes to Japanese articles, the AI tagging might not be as good as on English articles. It sometimes works alright, but not all the time.

    Mymind's lack of an iPad app is a painful oversight. I do much deeper research work there than I do my iPhone. Not sure I understand their strategy there.

    Time spent adding all the tags to make it work with all the benefits is a real loser - the initial benefit of AI tagging must out weight to further benefits after manual tags. Reviewing my Evernote library of 10k notes - only 40% have manual tags, and many of those are batch added due to structured browsing for research, into a temporary notebook, then adding the common tags in batches, works well.

      $5.99 a month. I'm trying out mymind right now and I currently love the ai tagging, but I don't know how much they take away for the student version. There are fewer features but I don't quite understand the difference. I'm emailing them to ask so I'll update after I get an explanation.
