My sister 'borrowed' my dad's car (blood related, no step relations) when she wanted to go to a party at a friend's house out in the country. She didn't even ask. She just took the keys and snuck out. Started the truck while my dad was in the shower. Dad gets out of the shower, sees his truck is gone, sees his keys are gone and doesn't even hesitate. Cops called, sister arrested, spends the night in jail. Added bonus: the party she went to had alcohol and underage kids, so they got busted too. Everyone quickly learns that the only reason they got busted is my sister stole her dad's truck. She's instantly friendless.
@@nicholerubes2959 Because the cops found his truck at the party and, dumb kids being dumb kids, they ran when the cops showed up. Or they tried to. But a lot of them were (so I heard) sloshed and one thing you lose when you're drunk is effective motor control.
Story 2: I wonder if you can make a side gig out of this. "Got a feeling someone will wear white to YOUR wedding? Well you need our Guest in Red! Worry no longer as our trained professionals dispatch any problem dress with a quick tip of a glass! Call Today!"
Sign me up. In fact I don't need to be paid, just give me one bottle of red wine or if its a dry wedding, a mug of coffee or hibiscus tea. I will do it as my contribution to society and to bring joy to my petty soul 😂😂😂
@@mbyerly9680 you don’t have to throw it if you act drunk enough, all you have to do is “accidentally” turn your wrist and spill the entire contents on your victim.
@crazedAlaska, it's neither assault nor battery if someone "accidentally" spills something on you. But, LOL 😃 I guess if you were specifically hired to do it, that might be different
Story 5: “Your doctor money will go to buying a new car for my son to make up for this.” Actually, that doctor money is gonna go to a farewell card as the door hits both his and his son’s ass on the way out
I will never understand why people think that throwing money at people is the equivalent to a satisfactory sales purchase. I would have told that Karen mom “I’m not a stripper, so don’t throw your money at me.”
Going even further, I'd be saying, "I know YOU might money like that, but I do not. Pick up your dignity." Because as you can see, at 60, this hair and the mouth underneath it, speaks up now. And not just for myself or those I know or even those I love. I speak up because it's the right thing to do, even when it doesn't affect ME directly, it still affects others.
He sounds like a gold digger and his idiot son ruined his long game. OP claimed he hadn't acted like that in the few years leading up to it, bet she would have seen an immediate personality change once the marriage certificate was signed. Glad the little preview was enough to make her bail.
Story 5: Dale was definitely never appreciated OP for what she does. She's a doctor and someone's life could be in danger without the car. Dale would have absolutely showed true colors after marriage. Good thing she realized before hand. Rex is absolutely spoiled by Dale.
Yup. My wife had an on call job and one time her work truck had a flat, so I took my full sized spare (same make and model) so she wouldn't be screwed until the motor pool showed up (it was looking like an hour or more)
With how Story #5 ended, I think I figured out why the ex-wife is an ex. She wanted to instill discipline in Rex but Dale clearly thinks "boys will be boys". And he certainly doesn't need help looking stupid. And then there's Dale's poor mother. She must have such a huge ulcer from dealing with him. Thank God she wasn't an entitled grandmother.
Dale is a teenage father that has not grown up. 30 with a 16 year old boy confirms the teenage father status but his actions shows he has not grown up.
OP should be grateful to Rex. He helped reveal her fiancé's red flags before it was too late. It's also refreshing to see a mother who is actually responsible and on good terms with the stepmother.
to be fair... if his Exes and his MOTHERS opinion of him wasn't already a huge red flag, then I dunno what is... then again smart does not always bless you with foresight.. not saying everyone with a divorce or ended Long term relationship is a red flag..but it sounds like there is a bit of a negative history there on his part, which am sure must have come up ? but yeh it for sure sounds like the 3 women would get on well if it wasnt for the clowns in the mix
The age she gives, dad is 30 and son is 16. So obviously this was a baby him and the mom had as teenagers. And it sounds like dad bailed until 10 years previously and now probably trying to spoil his son to make up for being neglecting. He obviously wants to appear like a good father. Thus the entitlement is created in 2 generations. Red flags indeed, that's how you create entitled monsters when you don't discipline them. When you don't punish, you must show that at the age actions have consequences.
Story about the car thief’s dad, I find it very telling that even with his fiancé, his ex wife and his mother all telling him what a total jerk and bad father he is, he still thinks everyone else is wrong and he’s right! I hope no poor unsuspecting woman ever gets tangled up in his ego again.
Slight correction in that I don't think Rex's mother was ever married to Dale. Sounds like it was a teen pregnancy since Dale was 16 when Rex was born. I don't think Fluff mentions it here, but that's what I recall.
Story #5: OP dodged an Uzi of a bullet there, smh. That marriage wouldn't have lasted three months, good thing she saw his true colors before she married him.
We all KNOW what the groom's mother was thinking. This was HER baby boy, and SHE was the only 'bride' that counted, here. She needs therapy because there's some serious 'I'm in love with my SON' stuff going on.
@@layneauman2020 Someone who finished her degree in medical school is not stupid and at 34 definitely has acquired a good level of assertiveness. She has been in her share of emergencies and knows how to plan and keep stuff from getting in the way of doing her job well. That son actually got off easy. I'm 100% sure she'd have called the cops after those 20 minutes.
The father in the fifth story is such a numbskull. A Dr on call must respond within a certain number of minutes. Absolutely correct that this could cost someone their life. She really dogded a bullet.
He’s not only an idiot for thinking that, but also an idiot for thinking that he can get someone better that can listen to his whining, but mommy chewed his butt, swallowed, then threw it up right back at him for just being the biggest dumbass and worst kind of parent in the history. He’s still a selfish idiot even after that tongue lashing.
My dad works from home. From what I'm aware, he and his coworkers have an 8-week rotation where each of them is backup on-call for one week, then main on-call the next. They need to be reachable in an emergency situation (not medical, but still very serious in the industry). Both mom and I know that means that if he needs to get home, he needs to GET HOME and we need to LEAVE. I knew that since elementary school, so for a grown-ass man and a teenager to fail to see that is inexcusable. NTA.
My wife worked on call as a csi, and whenever we went anywhere, if it wasn't just fast food, we took 2 vehicles. That way she could bail if she got called and for example, if at the store, we don't have to abandon the cart, I can finish up and get things home.
The story reveals everything about him. A teen that got his girlfriend pregnant, ditches and then when he is 20 wants to be in the kid's life. He is basically trying to appear like he is daddy of the year. Wants his son to love and appreciate him by spoiling him with entitlement. I am sure grandma been in the son's life from the beginning or early as she could but she probably told her son to grow up and I am sure the mom probably hates him since he bail probably. And only been hoping for the best in their kid's life.
Story 3: This is one of the best ways to deal with a spoiled, competitive person by tricking them into buying something awful by pretending you like it. Grow up, step-mom, consider this a wake-up call
Totally agree. 🎉 This was my favorite story on this video. Stepmom is a child. Op needs to keep adding nonsense to her wish board just to keep stepmom off her back.
I think I would have smugly told her I did it to screw with her because I knew how much of a jackass she was rather than saying it was to mess with the husband.
Our Silver Lab slipped out of the house, and was killed on the road right next to our mailbox. It's been three months, and as we go about our day, countless things remind us of her. Our previous Lab lived to be 14 1/2, but stayed clear of the road. We are in our 70s, and don't want to deal with the heartache of losing another dog, and fencing in our backyard is too expensive.
When my oldest was about 10, we got a kitten. We lived in an apartment with a heavy entrance door that would sometimes close on its own. My son was sitting on the front stoop playing with the kitten, the kitten ran into the apartment just as the door swung shut. My babysitter called me at work, very shaken, my son was in hysterics. My immediate boss refused to let me go home, thankfully her supervisor sent me home to deal with the tragedy. I know work is work, but some people have no heart.
Story 4: As someone who's studying to someday become a vet and who already has experience working in a hospital, the actions of OP's boss makes me so infuriated. I've seen pets be put down before and I've seen the pain and the grief in the pet's family's eyes when they see that their beloved family member has passed away, and how that increases tenfold when a pet passes on its own and neither the team at the hospital nor the pet's family could do anything about it. It is absolutely heartbreaking, and I'm sure to make a comment like the one she did OP's boss has never had to be there for a situation like that, nor has she ever had a pet of her own.
Agreed. I like animals more than people. I ended a long-term friendship with someone when my previous fur baby had to be put down 12 years ago because she had an enlarged heart and fluid in the lungs. My now-former friend scoffed at me stating that it was “just a stupid dog.” She's very lucky that this was over the phone because I could not have been held responsible for what I would have done had she been standing right in front of me. Granted, she probably wouldn't have been so brave or mouthy if we were in the same room because, in her true narcissistic nature, she was a coward: all mouth and no spine. I cut ties with that witch more than a decade ago and do not miss dealing with her AT ALL.
That's where it all stops for me. Asked to use the car, denied...took it anyway. She handled that fool correctly. Little did she know just what that led to exposing. She dodged a huge blunder...
Story 2: You wear white or a bride dress to a wedding you leave in a red dress. Story 5: NTA, the son need to understand that losing the job will cost him more in the long term as who going to pay for all his expenses along with college tuition.
Oh, that was not about her losing the job. That was about him getting a rap sheet. And yes, that would have cost him much more than just some college tuition.
Story 4. Any boss who forces their employee to come to work immediately after their dog dies and not let them mourn, saying to get over it cause it's "just a dog", needs to be bludgeoned over the head with a lead filled teddy bear! It's not "just a dog", that was OP's best friend...their family and their boss wouldn't even let them take time off to take care of the body, leaving the poor thing sitting on the bed. And then the boss had the audacity to say get over it, why? Because it wasn't a human being, you think its death wasn't worth getting sad over? Animals are not objects and they are definitely not mindless creatures, they can be just as sentient and intelligent as us, and they're equally as emotional too! Any person who thinks like OP's boss think is evil and deserves to go to Hell!
@@thunderflare59 and hire wine/water ninjas; shadow warriors trained to spill red wine on anyone wearing white without the bride's permission, and trained in using fire hoses to spray anyone who plans on proposing or announcing pregnancies.
Story 1 - Good on OP for putting that Karen in her place and using her $200 to buy something for themselves. And I don’t know why entitled people think that throwing money at people means they’re getting what they want. Story 2 - Wow… OP is a hero in this story. Serves that stupid MIL for thinking that it was okay for her to wear a wedding dress like dress at her own son’s wedding. Story 3 - Bravo OP, for taking that spoiled stepmom down a peg. Tricking her into buying horrible Christmas decorations then revealing that you actually hated them was genius. What a bratty woman. Story 5 - What an entitled man child. Wether OP was on call or not, she told the son ‘No’ so he had no right to take the car. And the nerve of the father for telling OP that her doctor money is gonna buy his son a new car for the troubles… I mean screw that low life. OP definitely dodged a bullet there. Story 6 - “You’re not using the hoop, so just give it to me.” Dude get you own basketball hoop and shove off. That’s all I’ve got to say.
I mean, I don't get the point of grief days, when my dog died on my legs I was already going over my day in the next one or two minutes. But I know that's not the norm, my parent for example still feels like it hurts. I don't understand it nor share the feeling but I'm not going to just going to say deal with it.
It's not that hard to hard to stalk a person, wait three months, and anonymously fire a .22 from a revolver in the appropriate direction. Some .22 revolvers are pretty cheap, and with $20 or $30 worth of thermite, can be buried and melted, Of course, OP must never mention resentment, or response. Knowing our species, it's a good idea to make a few pounds of Thermite (1 pound of iron oxide, one pound of powdered aluminum) in advance, This is not a balanced equation, but it lights easily, and the burning gun supports the fire. Never look at a thermite fire.
I had a friend like that who made a very nasty comment regarding my dog. “It's just a stupid dog.” She had the nerve to say something even more horrible the day my father died stating the two of us “never got along anyway.” She got a prompt slap across the face.
Take an on-call doctor’s car without permission? Somebody could (at least possibly) suffer severe medical consequences. The liability issues alone are potentially astronomical, let alone the lack of a moral compass the whole thing implies. Driver’s license yanked until he’s at least 18, if not 21.
I can't help but to think that the mother of the groom wearing a wedding dress look like they wish they were marrying their son so it looks way creepy.
Not as gross as a story in another TH-camr’s video. The bride (on the wedding day) found the groom in the bathroom being breastfed by his mother. I don’t know if it was a true story or not but that is BEYOND messed up!
Dale isn’t mad because OP punished his son. He’s mad because she made him look like a bad parent on social media. And in true narcissist fashion, he took it out and showed his true nature
Story 5 - Thank FSM and all that is holy that OP got to see her ex with his mask completely off. I'm also cheering that every single female in his life was on OP's side, and didn't buy his "woe is me" BS. Too bad for you, Dale, to lose access to all that "doctor money"! 🤣😂🤣
#3: 🤣😅 OP is a Brilliant woman and just plain evil! I Love it!!! #4: Poor OP! "Man up and get over it"?!? What an awful thing to say to somebody who just lost a pet and a family member (anyone who says our furfriends aren't part of our families doesn't have a clue and is human garbage). I'm so glad the big boss had some compassion, THAT sounds like someone I'd be great working with and for.
Story 4: Yeah no. As soon as my employer said "man up it is just a dog" I would have immediately reported them or talked to their direct supervisor. Pets are family and losing one so suddenly is incredibly painful. I live on a pretty busy street being next to a highway onramp. My cats know better than to be in the street but they do cross to the park across the street. One night while outside smoking I watched a truck deliberately speed up and swerve (almost hitting my truck) to run over one of my cats that was crossing. He hit him in the spine. I had to bawl my eyes out watching my cat drag himself into the yard as his back legs were paralyzed. As soon as he hit the yard he passed out from pain. Took him to the vet to have put him down. It was so hard. Next day I called off from work so I could bury him. I found out who owned that truck (lives just 2 streets down from me) and keyed "Cat Killer" into his truck. I was so angry and grief ridden. He tried to confront me but told him I have CCTV in front of my house and have him on video deliberately swerving and speeding. He did not risk it and just buffed out the key marks. It is still visible in the sunlight. I know it is risky being on a busy street but most people will slow down if they see any animal near the street. People who hit animals on purpose have a special place in hell for them. Story 5: Believe it or not this happened with my sister. I had a beat up 85' Buick that I swear would not break down. It had so many problems wrong with it but never gave up. I was so proud of it and it broke my heart when the engine finally seized on me. My sister had asked to borrow it just long enough for her and her ex fiance to get his truck from the shop. Like we are talking a few hours maybe. I told her it was fine but I needed it back as soon as possible as I needed to pick up our younger brother in a town an hour away before it was too late in the evening. 4 hours later she made a post on FB about how she was glad she got their truck back in working order. I thought "okay she should be back soon". An hour later and she did not come back yet. I called her and asked when she was bringing my car back as I needed it. She said "we are still using it you will get it back soon," and I just kinda laughed. I said "you made a post about getting the truck. You don't need it anymore." She immediately started yelling about how she just enjoyed having 2 vehicles so she could shop without using their gas. *THEIR GAS* . I literally stayed silent for about 5 seconds before saying "you have about 10 minutes to bring my car back or I report it stolen." She showed up pretty quick after that. Cherry on top? She put absolutely no gas in it to replace what she used. I had a full tank when I lended it to her and got it back almost empty. I was so pissed. Any car I have had since I lost my Buick she never gets to use. She asks to borrow our mom's truck every so often and never puts gas into it. Ever. Lmao
Story 4 boils my blood so much. I'd rather quit my job if I had a boss that heartless. A dog is not just a dog, it's a member of the family just as much as any human being
My boss explained to me what is expected of people on call. No boss will ever take “my car was stolen” as a legitimate excuse to miss work. She would have lost her job because of REX and REX probably would’ve felt the least bit bad about it.
Standing ovation for the xmas decorations play. Best move in trilevel chess CAR theft: dump the fiance, just an enabling man child. The entire family informed him he was a pathetic father Glad OP found out now rather than later Those ladies had their ducks lined up
First story... So rabid Karen bought the "pig in a poke"! 😆 Story five.... OP needs to make "Fiance" an EX. He's an entitled idiot. Ah, good update. Bubbye, AH! 🤨 Last story... I was fully expecting the entitled idiot to try stealing the BB hoop.
Story 5: OP is definitely NTA! Seriously, OP's fiancé is a literal man-child. His son should've listened in the first place when told "No" and OP had every right to call the police. Brat should be glad she warned him first and not just did it. But still, the man-child's ex and mother both agreeing with OP was good. And yes, man-child deserved to look like a joke on the internet.
Story #4: Dear freaking divine beings above HUUUUGE HUG for OP. I'm soo sorry they had to go through such an awful experience, really glad the boss' manager had their head on right. I'd definitely being on the hunt for a new job after that. What a heartless jerk. Story #5: That's definitely a time when Fiance gets demoted to Ex. Good on OP for kicking him to the curb. It's super clear neither Dale nor his son have any real respect for women.
Haha, that step-mom one was friggin hilarious! that's a perfect way to punish someone like that. Teach that childish jerkoff a lesson. and Bratty stepson story was brilliant. "Heh, you're not my mom! what can you do about me stealing your car? hehehe" stepmom "Fine. I'm not your mom? well, then i'll just call the police on you since you're not my kid." Dale IS a joke and he IS a bad father for siding with his little brat. He literally stole a car. He was told he was not allowed to take the car and he did it anyway. At least the other women in that man's life have a head on their shoulders.
Story 4: OP should say that she'll appologize if the both of them could do one thing for her. Then drive them down to the hospital, pass through Emergency, ICU, and enough of the burn ward, so they can soak in the atmosphere. Then task them with telling each patient in the burn ward that hanging out at the mall is worth more than their lives... and remind them that the pediatric center is next.... I doubt they will go through with it, but maybe the visual of seeing just how crazy it is and how many codes are called will let them realize that any day OP's not called in while on-call is a blessing.
*Story 2-My mom wore white to my wedding, and my parents wouldn’t stop yelling during it!* During the father/daughter dance, my dad yelled at me and stomped off in the middle of it. My parents made me late to my own wedding, and my siblings were even later, and they were half the wedding party! I actually started crying during the reception, and the only person who realized I was gone was my hubby and he had to talk and make me feel better. We ended up making an excuse and leaving early, so we didn’t have to be there anymore. 😢💔
Story 5: The stories on AITA where the poster is voted the AH and they come back and acknowledge it and promise to do better are the best. It shows growth and maturity to take criticism and learn from it. Dale had an opportunity to grow, but all he saw was the negativity. OP is good to be done with him.
I'm so glad the doctor lady (story 5) held her ground. I'm also VERY glad Dale showed his true colors before they really committed to their relationship (although I'm sad for her losing 4 years to that entitled prick and his equally entitled son). Who would bet against me if I said he probably blames his ex (the kid's mom) for their relationship ending, rather than looking in a mirror? In addition to that, what is it with people buying cars for their kids? My eldest bought his OWN car. It's worth more to him because HE made the investment. Before that, he had a functional bicycle and two strong legs to get to work. I bought my own first car, same story.
2nd to last story (car story): Uh... sounds like theres a reason his ex divorced him and you should probably run for the hills. It's only going to get worse. Edit: Shoulda finished the story before I commented, glad you are free of that man child. Good for you!
"I didn't punish your son. I did the most generous thing I could possibly do in the situation, and I taught your son what felony auto theft was and then gave him the opportunity to undo his crime before police were involved. This will be useful information for him as there is no guaranty that the next person whose car he steals will be as generous."
Story 1: $200 is on the low end of the butchering costs for a hog, and a market-ready hog is easily worth over $12k; so if that Karen had wanted to buy one on the spot, she should have offered $18k to $24k. Anything less would be a literal insult. Story 5: When that “Rex” kid said that he couldn’t get his friends together in less than 20 minutes, she should have just come back with “Alright, then I’ll just call the cops and report it stolen now. Don’t turn your back on bubba, and definitely don’t drop the soap.”
Fourth story: NTA. OP said no and he went to even pass the line of the law and then he had the nerve to laugh and say he'll do what he wants. And the father is even worse for enabling and defending this behavior.
god, that last story just makes me think of my half brother. when i was a kid, we used to have an old SNES that didn't stay hooked up all the time, we just brought it out when i wanted to play DKC or my dad DOOM. i went to dig it out one day to play, only to find it missing, along with most of our games. turns out my half brother took it, _without asking,_ so he could sell it cause he was strapped for cash (he has... never been good with money.) when we confronted him about it, he said he thought we never used it anymore because he never saw anybody playing it whenever he happened to be over. and then he never even bothered trying to replace it. my half sister tried to get me another one, but it didn't work, and one of my cousins tried to see if he could fix it, but no dice. but my brother never did anything to make up for stealing that system, even after learning that we, especially me, were upset by his theft. (i'm not surprised to have learned he also tried getting in on that whole 'ps5 price scalping' thing to make extra cash, either. or that he got into NFTs, and tried to convince me to turn my artwork into NFTs. *uhg*.)
Story 5- I’m sorry, your moms car is too embarrassing to be seen in? You can have this Schwinn 12 speed “I’m not proud of this..” you aren’t proud of being the logical adult who is taking appropriate actions? Also OP: thank goodness this happened before your wedding, get out now
Oh my god. Story 4 reminds me of the sociopath I used to work for. I’d been at that store a couple months (with the company for like… five years, but transferred.) and a couple weeks before Christmas, my dad called me at work to tell me they were taking my grandma off life support. I was pretty distraught, and my assistant was there to comfort me. She said she’d cover me for the funeral, but neither of us were entirely sure whether the company paid a bereavement day for a grandparent. I went to my manager, visibly just *barely* holding it together. I got out an “Excuse me,” and she started snapping about me interrupting her. I quickly apologized and managed to get the answer from someone else. As I was clocking out for lunch, my manager snapped at me to come into her office. She proceeded to yell at me again for interrupting her, told me to “work on [my] presentation next time” (Okay, Maureen. Next time my grandma dies, I’ll do up a powerpoint for you.) she yells at me for five minutes and then as I’m leaving her office, snaps “I’m sorry about your grandma.” A week or so later, our district manager was touring the store with the manager close behind. I have no idea where I pulled out my balls of steel from, but I smiled, and asked if I could speak to him a moment. My manager started to follow him, but I smiled sweetly and said “No. Just him.” I took him into my back room, and summoned every fucking bad thing that had ever happened to me, and I started crying. Full tears. I explained everything, and he just looked at me in horror. I don’t remember many specifics, but I remember him saying “….work on your presentation? What the hell does that mean?” And me sobbing “I don’t knooow.” (I was told that during this, my manager was just awkwardly straightening displays while she stared daggers at the door, which I’m also told was *hilarious*) She remained a vile, (nearly) heartless sociopath for another six years, until she retired, and we got a new manager. (The difference between them was like Trunchbull and Miss Honey from Matilda. Like… goddamn:) Tl;dr: hey, Maureen. Fuck you. ❤
#5. Boy o Boy! That lady sure dodged a bullet big time. . . I do enjoy it when the A Hole shows their colors early, right up front. Saves so much time and damage.
The MoG wearing white to the wedding story is so good I’ve heard it with red wine, a child’s grape juice box, and strawberries as the substance used to stain the dress 😋
Story 5: Ha. If you're not his mother he has essentially stolen a strangers car and a stranger would give him no sort of heads up about calling the police.
Story 5... taking the vehicle without permission is theft. If seems her fiance needs an attitude adjustment as they seem to be entitled enough to not think there is any issue with taking a vehicle when they had been told no. Personally... escaping out of the relationship is likely the best thing to happen.
To the OP in the dog story, I had a boss like that too. When I was taking time off work to mourn my own dog passing away, she phoned me every other day to nag me to come back to work. In the end I needed a doctor’s note because I developed anxiety that manifested itself physically in the form of uncontrollable itching all over my body and where I come from it’s very hard to get an appointment with a doctor due to the lack of them in my area so she kept “prompting” me to get a sick note, despite her knowing how hard it is to get an appointment in my area. Needless to say I quit that job for something better months later.
OP & fiance's son taking her car while she was on-call: OP, Now you know why your fiance has an EX-WIFE. Your fiance is an entitled, immature jerk who is raising his son to be the same way. Run, don't walk, because this kind of crap will happen to you endlessly.
My cat went through two surgeries to fix his eyes this year and I was a mess at work the day after we first took him to a vet because it wasn't at all cheap and I would have to pay it myself since my family can't afford it. If I didn't we would have to put him down but there was a chance we could lose him anyway. I warned my boss that I wasn't doing too great the day before his first operation and my boss came in to say I could go home if I needed to and take the next day off. I was pretty shocked at that Yes its an animal not a human but they are still part of your family and you have to have a heart of ice if you don't get that
Doctor On Call: Regarding the behaviour I can absolutely see where the stepson gets his influence from and why he thought it would be okay. OP, I am sorry to break it to you, but you should leave the man, as his and his sons behaviour are throwing so many red flags, that it is hard to even keep up with it. They don't value your word, they do not care for your time, they do not care for the lives of other people (if you get called in, it is a live of die question, isn't it?), and they are entitled as heck! It will only get worse from here on out... EDIT: So glad OP actually did call of the engagement and kicked that jerk out!
Story 4 hit home. Had the same scenario, but it was my cat who we had to yake to the emergency vet an hour away because she was having bad siezures. Very heartbreaking and traumatic and had to go to work the next day. I was not in any condition to work.
I suspect OP missed some red flags with Dale before the argument over his kid stealing her car. Yeah, this IS the man you've known for four years. Maybe this is just the first time you butted heads over his son. But whatever, he's clearly too immature to be a good dad or a good husband. No wonder he and his ex split up.
Story 5 -- I'm so glad OP's not marrying that awful, entitled guy! His ex is a way better person than he is, & even his mom knows he was in the wrong. It's like he's treating OP badly as a punishment -- for his own & his son's bad behaviour! Why on earth would OP buy his son a car as a reward for them stealing her car & treating her like crap? It's the ex-fiance & his son who owe OP, not the other way 'round! Boy, OP sure dodged a bullet...
Story 2: I was once hired to provide security for a wedding and was told that the MIL might show up, and that under no uncertain terms was she supposed to show up. Sure as shit, the MIL rolls up IN A LIMOUSINE 10 minutes before the wedding, ALSO wearing a wedding gown. But the best part is I didn't have to do a damn thing. Someone else had apparently planned for this occasion as well, as some kid maybe 13 from inside the church wearing a blue shower cap and plastic Spider Man halloween mask came storming out with a small can of bright orange paint, and splashed her with it, then darted right back inside while she stood there with her jaw on the ground. No way to tell which kid it was since a lot of boys his age were wearing the same thing. (black pants, white shirt, white tie) It was brilliantly executed. The limousine driver refused to let her back inside because she had fresh wet blaze orange paint all over her, which she proceeded to get all over the limousine as well before the driver ditched her. I don't know if you've ever had the pleasure of seeing a worn out bar rag in her mid 50's wearing a wedding dress dripping blaze orange clumsily staggering in heels down the middle of the road after a limousine, but I highly recommend it. My only regret is this was back before cell phones had cameras. By the time the guys with camcorders (and in the early 00's there was always at least one at every wedding) heard about it and got outside, she was around the bend and out of sight. Nothing left but a trail of orange dots. Story 5: He was definitely just trying to use her for a meal ticket, with that "doctor money" comment. Probably doesn't realize she likely has "doctor student loans" too. Good on her for getting rid of that complete failure of a man.
The dog story 😭😭😭😭 if I were OP. I'd wait for the day where let's say one or both of his parents pass and when he wants off to grieve. Just say "Who cares. Come in and work and get passed for no named people."
I would have told that fiance what would have happened if Rex had gotten into an accident and was killed in my car? Is he going to blame me for that? Also yeah what would have happened if he got into an accident and hurt somebody else what he gets sued or me? Dale is a waste of space anyway, you probably was going to wait until they got married and then reach off of her for the rest of his life.
Thank god, Op broke up with dale before getting married. I see why Rex's mom broke it off with him too. He is such a bad father that he first ignores his kid and then enables him. I hope Rex can get some sense talked into him by his mom and grandma. He needs to learn before he gets arrested for real.
Having a bit of a problem with Story #5. Dale is only 30 but he has a 16 year old son. Dale was only 14 when he knocked up his girlfriend ? He then missed the first 6 years of Rex's life and presumably married her when he was 20 ? Or was Rex Dale's stepson as well ?
Story 5, op is definitely not the AH,seeing that the stepson took the car without OP’s permission. I wouldn’t have given him 20 minutes to return the car. As I’d been straight on the phone to the police. After reading the add on to this story. You can see where the son got his sense of entitlement from, especially when the father acs like this. I’m sorry for your relationship falling apart due to their sense of entitlement. I also had to laugh 🤣🤣🤣🤣 when the father said that you should buy a car for the entitled son
Story 2 - My MIL didnt wear white but she did wear a wildly floral mumu. It looked atrocious and got some surprised looks. I just pretended nothing was out of the ordinary. Years later she apologized and we ended up having a very good relationship. She passed away a couple of years ago and I truly miss her. Story 5 - So glad OP kicked Dale's sorry ass to the curb. Glad the mother and grandmother didn't uphold Rex's thievery.
@@lsmith992 yes, over $1000 is my recollection also ... Depending on the size, obviously: a Montana State University 4-H page shows prices upwards of $4/lb. PS: shout-out to 4-H - truly underappreciated!
Story 5. No NTA. Does not matter if you got called in or not. You said no you can't use the car. He took it without permission. That is THEFT. I wouldn't have given him 20 minutes to get home, I simply would have called the cops and reported the car stolen. Let the punk deal the a gta for the rest of his life. You screwed up, now deal with the consequences.
Story 4: OP needs a hug, a teddy bear, a warm blanket, a root beer and an Ice cream sandwich effective immediately and should not be forced to work under any circumstances Also F that A-hole of a boss
On 9/11 (!) I was working at a call center, but not on phones. I was crying at my desk & my manager asked if I knew anyone at WTC. I looked at her & said, "do I need to?" She said, focus on work. I will never get over that callousness
Fifth story. Has Dale been checked for a brain tumor? I mean really! Best to get out now. He'll never see your side no matter what his spoiled son does. Been there, done that. He probably feels guilty for the time he wasn't in his son's life. You should not have to be the one paying for Dale's guilt.
I look forward to listening to these stories beats politics lol. I would’ve reported the car stolen period no leeway. That fiancé needs to leave run doctor run. Dale is a narcissist
I'm pretty sure buying a live pig costs considerably more than $200. So, not only did Karen just decide that she could buy a pig that was being auctioned by throwing money at the owner, she decided that she could get it for an insultingly low price.
I've been wanting to tell someone this for a few weeks now. Back in 2018 I had to put my cat down out of nowhere because her otherwise normal condition quickly turned awful, she was in pain and couldn't eat or drink water. She loved being petted on her chin and I couldn't even comfort her with that because... her chin was swollen and in pain. Tried to tell my boss that I couldn't come in because I had to put my cat down that same day. He said no. It took years to get the opportunity, but he had a new office built and, when it was nearly finished, I put in one of those noisemakers behind an outlet (don't worry, I know how to make sure it doesn't create a fire). He's going to be hearing random, inconsistent beeps for the next three years and questioning his sanity. Hardly as bad as he deserves, but he's already pretty well disliked by his peers and everyone else around him, so it's not like he's going to convince anyone he's actually hearing it. Just too bad I won't be there to see him lose it, since I'm moving and already quit.
How did the dots connect so that her stealing your dads truck led to underage drinking being discovered?
@@nicholerubes2959 Because the cops found his truck at the party and, dumb kids being dumb kids, they ran when the cops showed up. Or they tried to. But a lot of them were (so I heard) sloshed and one thing you lose when you're drunk is effective motor control.
@@antonyduhamel1166 that sounds funny to watch. I hope your sister learned from this
Story 2: I wonder if you can make a side gig out of this.
Problem is, it’s actually legally classified as assault or battery (can’t remember) in several juristictions, so I’d never take the job.
Assassin for Hire: I have red wine, and I'm not afraid to throw it.
Story 5: “Your doctor money will go to buying a new car for my son to make up for this.”
Actually, that doctor money is gonna go to a farewell card as the door hits both his and his son’s ass on the way out
😂🤣😂
Matchbox, Hot Wheel, Corgi, or go big with a Powerwheel.
I will never understand why people think that throwing money at people is the equivalent to a satisfactory sales purchase. I would have told that Karen mom “I’m not a stripper, so don’t throw your money at me.”
She was also $400 shy of an actual reasonable price. What a moron. I hope she hasn't gotten her son killed.
🙂. Alternative phrasing: "Do people normally pay *you* by throwing cash at you?"
When Karen mom said she paid for the pig, OP should have responded with “I don’t see a receipt.”
@@larrywest42 oooooh! Scathing.
The doctor realized what an idiot her fiance was before they got hitched, perfect timing. Shook my head so hard 😂😵💫
Yeah, she dodged a real idiot there.
He sounds like a gold digger and his idiot son ruined his long game. OP claimed he hadn't acted like that in the few years leading up to it, bet she would have seen an immediate personality change once the marriage certificate was signed. Glad the little preview was enough to make her bail.
I find it kind of amusing that Dale’s ex agrees with OP.
@@EditorOfSL I'd buy HER a car 😅
@@meh2510imagine if she brought up a prenup
Story 5. I'm glad she found out what kind of man her fiance was before they married
Yep that was really a close call for OP there
Story 5: Dale was definitely never appreciated OP for what she does.
The mom sounds like a better parent then the father
OP should be grateful to Rex. He helped reveal her fiancé's red flags before it was too late.
It's also refreshing to see a mother who is actually responsible and on good terms with the stepmother.
Yep. I feel like all three of those women should meet for lunch. LOL
Agreed. Those women are all MVPs. Grats to them for standing up to idiocy.
Right? Sounds like OP found out the reason she was the ex-wife.
to be fair... if his Exes and his MOTHERS opinion of him wasn't already a huge red flag, then I dunno what is... then again smart does not always bless you with foresight..
not saying everyone with a divorce or ended Long term relationship is a red flag..but it sounds like there is a bit of a negative history there on his part, which am sure must have come up ?
but yeh it for sure sounds like the 3 women would get on well if it wasnt for the clowns in the mix
That's classic narcissism at its finest-or worst! You know you're the idiot when THREE women in your life
Slight correction in that I don't think Rex's mother was ever married to Dale.
Dr OP dodged a big bullet on that ex, "dale" would only get worse and wanted her money more than anything else.
Bullet? She dodged a freaking ICBM there.
We all KNOW what the groom's mother was thinking. This was HER baby boy, and SHE was the only 'bride' that counted, here. She needs therapy because there's some serious 'I'm in love with my SON' stuff going on.
I was thinking that. Its gross to want to be a bride at your sons wedding. Just gross.
Story #5 That fiancé needs to become an ex fiancé real quickly before he gets worse!!
Edit I should’ve let the story finish first because she was absolutely brilliant!!!

NTA.
"Everybody will think I'm an AH". No... everybody will KNOW you're an AH.
My wife worked on call as a csi, and whenever we went anywhere, if it wasn't just fast food, we took 2 vehicles. That way she could bail if she got called and for example, if at the store, we don't have to abandon the cart, I can finish up and get things home.
It's funny when a guy's Ex, Current Girlfriend, and Mother are all in agreement over the guy not being a good parent.

Lost my golden back in February. I doubt this pain will ever leave.
As someone who's studying to someday become a vet and who already has experience working in a hospital, the actions of OP's boss makes me so infuriated.

I literally stayed silent for about 5 seconds before saying "you have about 10 minutes to bring my car back or I report it stolen."
She showed up pretty quick after that. Ever. Lmao

That wedding story was the funniest I have heard in a long time! Way to go OP!!!
I was about to write that the doc should end the engagement, but the story kept on and boom there it is. Good for her.
Next to last story. I guess NOW she understands why Dale has an ex-wife. She (the ex) was the smart one!
Story 2: Nice one OP she had it coming and the performance 10/10!!
That's *awful.* My heart goes out to you.
That’s just disgusting! Why people have to be so childish at a wedding for their child! Smh
16 year olds don't NEED a car. On-call doctors do. End the engagement. Dale can marry himself if he loves himself so much.
Time to shake my head waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too hard.
The third story is *EPIC!*
I mean, OP teach her stepmom a lesson with all her *GLORIOUS* pettiness.
It’s a blessing in disguise. Ditch Dale. There’s a reason why Dale is an ex. Free yourself girl! NTA!
*uhg*.)
I'm so relieved that the engagement to Dale was ended! Good thing that happened before they got married.
I think we all know now why Dale has a previous ex...
Story 5- I’m sorry, your moms car is too embarrassing to be seen in? You can have this Schwinn 12 speed
“I’m not proud of this..” you aren’t proud of being the logical adult who is taking appropriate actions?
Next time my grandma dies, I’ll do up a powerpoint for you.) she yells at me for five minutes and then as I’m leaving her office, snaps “I’m sorry about your grandma.”
A week or so later, our district manager was touring the store with the manager close behind. I have no idea where I pulled out my balls of steel from, but I smiled, and asked if I could speak to him a moment. My manager started to follow him, but I smiled sweetly and said “No. Just him.”
I took him into my back room, and summoned every fucking bad thing that had ever happened to me, and I started crying. Full tears. I explained everything, and he just looked at me in horror. I don’t remember many specifics, but I remember him saying “….work on your presentation? What the hell does that mean?” And me sobbing “I don’t knooow.”
(I was told that during this, my manager was just awkwardly straightening displays while she stared daggers at the door, which I’m also told was *hilarious*)
She remained a vile, (nearly) heartless sociopath for another six years, until she retired, and we got a new manager. (The difference between them was like Trunchbull and Miss Honey from Matilda. Like… goddamn:)
Tl;dr: hey, Maureen. Fuck you. ❤
OP & fiance's son taking her car while she was on-call:
OP, Now you know why your fiance has an EX-WIFE.
I was pretty shocked at that
Yes its an animal not a human but they are still part of your family and you have to have a heart of ice if you don't get that
On call has serious repercussions if you don't go in. On top of possibly having someone die because of a pair of entitled manchildren.
Doctor On Call:
Regarding the behaviour I can absolutely see where the stepson gets his influence from and why he thought it would be okay.
Story 3: That's actually worthy of petty revenge in that she gained a win over that stepmom and it seems as if she won't do it again.
That one hurt my heart😩
Last story, I had someone show up one day wanting to buy my horse trailer since I never used it. It was winter! I put a lock on the hitch.
Story 5 OP didn't make Dale look stupid, Dale made Dale look stupid.
That Christmas decorations story is 100% a great way to show how petty revenge works
I've been to these auctions, and they are usually 4-H auctions. $200 is only a fraction of the amount these animals often bring.
1000s money more than likely
Story 4: OP needs a hug, a teddy bear, a warm blanket, a root beer and an Ice cream sandwich effective immediately and should not be forced to work under any circumstances
Also F that A-hole of a boss
On 9/11 (!) I was working at a call center, but not on phones. I was crying at my desk & my manager asked if I knew anyone at WTC. I looked at her & said, "do I need to?" She said, focus on work. I will never get over that callousness
Well, that doc dodged a bullet. It can take a long time to truly see their true colours.
That Dr lady dodged a bullet. Good riddance
