99-04 Mustang Motor Mount Replacement V6

How to change the engine mounts on a new edge Mustang V6. I bought the Anchor 300815 mount kit. New motor mounts made a huge difference in how this 20+ year old vehicle handles. The passenger side is difficult to replace due to the limited space on the 2 rear fasteners. You will need to disconnect the starter motor and possibly drop the exhaust.

I have a few hairline cracks on both exhaust manifolds...when i went to purchase them on rockauto they recommended motor mounts...do you think i need them just because the manifolds are cracked? Id hate to waste time and money if i didnt end up needing them...

If the exhaust manifolds were OEM, then think about it, they lasted at least 2 decades. Think new ones are going to crack right away? If you are experiencing harsh vibrations while driving (this needs to be further diagnosed), or if the motor mounts fail a visual inspection, then yes get them.

@OldSchoolNoe well I'm not sure how long they actually lasted because I always had this tick...and never realized it was exhaust manifolds til now...but I do agree with you

Never thought I would say this but., Its easier on the Astro van.

Its harder on the GT version, as you have to drop the subframe in order to get to the mounts. Yeah, the Astro is a lot easier I agree!
