  • This intake removal and gasket replacement was fairly easy. After I took the old gasket off I cleaned all the surfaces to make sure it had a good seal and it did. I forgot to mention that you will also need to remove to coil pack as well. Technically you do not have to take the spark plug wires off. If you do remember their place on the coil pack. All in all the job took less then 45 minutes but was drawn out due to me painting the intake and doing much needed cleaning.

    I have a bad tap and its definitely coming from the very top right at this intake manny. I already took right side valve cover off, inspected things. Nothing seemed out of place. Thought it may be a stuck lifter, but now im super puzzled. I will be taking this off next. Many thanks for making this video.

    Thank you for your help and channel. I respect your desire to spread good will and to do good. As a fellow Christian, I appreciate that even more (though I must admit I was worried your cross necklace was going to get caught in the engine at first :)

      The IMRC with the bushings was not installed on the v6 mustangs until 2001, My car is a 2000.

    Thanks for the information... It looked like there was a good deal of oil in your plenum... Have you considered an aftermarket catch can inline with the PCV
    valve(s)?
    I am doing valve cover gaskets so the upper and lower intake manifolds will get done at same time just because they are exposed with everything already pulled off.

    I’ve replaced these twice already when I put a crate 3.8 in and found out my lower intake manifold was warped from heat (just passing this info on to the next guy) they also sell plenum gaskets and manifold gaskets.. I’m assuming you use one or the other bc literally every single 3.8 I’ve torn apart doesn’t have the plenum gaskets but the manifold gaskets instead? so I assume the upper and lower manifold gaskets are all that is needed.

    The video was extremely helpful. I believe I'm have a fuel injector problem on my 2004 ford mustang, their located under the manifold and just looking at it to take it off look intimidating as hell cuz I don't want to mess it up more lol. I'm self teaching myself on how to repair and fix car problems. But thanks for this video!

    Would you be able to replace the imrc clips with the intake manifold off

    • @TylerCreates
      @TylerCreates  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I do believe so, I have seen that most of the videos of people replacing them have the upper intake taken off.

  • @fiend6051

    do i need to remove the manifold to test the injectors with an ohm reader?

    • @TylerCreates
      @TylerCreates  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure, if you are not able to reach the injectors with your Ohm reader then you will probably have to remove the manifold.

    Do you have to tighten the bolts back on at a specific torque

    • @TylerCreates
      @TylerCreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes and it looks like you want 8 Foot Pounds, they can break easy so be careful. Internet says online you will tighten from the inside bolts out.

    what's that red hose that comes out from the front right side of the intake manifold

    • @TylerCreates
      @TylerCreates  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The red hose on the right side that has the plastic over it is runs to the EGR Vacuum Control Solenoid. The solenoid has two of them one going to the EGR and one to the right side of the manifold. I think the EGR hose might be green.

    My 2002 mustang is over heading ik its a gasket but idk which one makes it leaks and where it is located

    • @TylerCreates
      @TylerCreates  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it depends, an overheating vehicle can be many thing and if it was head gaskets which are located in between the top of the engine block and the cylinder head you would have symptoms like white smoke out the exhaust that smells like burnt antifreeze, using up antifreeze, possibly oil in your coolant making it brown not clear/green. Why do you think it's a gasket?

    • @sleeper7905
      @sleeper7905 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its leaking in between my i take manifold and the bottom of it

    • @TylerCreates
      @TylerCreates  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it leaking coolant (green water)?

    • @sleeper7905
      @sleeper7905 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TylerCreates yes

    • @TylerCreates
      @TylerCreates  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sleeper7905 Ok, there are two parts to the air intake on a v6, the upper and lower manfiolds also called plenums. The upper part is dry, no coolant but the lower has coolant Depending on the area your leak is coming from the job can be easy or hard. If it's coming from the very front where there is a angled adapter to the rubber hose feeding your radiator that's an easy fix. Also replace your thermostat while your in there and make sure it goes in facing the right direction. That gasket is called your thermostat housing gasket.
