@@phillybrc I was just completing this mod tonight and realized that I bought the Arrma 3S typhon wing mount and wing. Is the outcast 4s wing the only one that fits this mod? Mine won’t fit unless I completely cut the top of the truck bed above the Arrma decal.
@@amavarrc Hi. The typhon wing covers more area so it s hard to fit properly. The Outcast is much shorter. Unless, you use spacers to miss the truck body
Once you get an electric screwdriver, you'll wonder why you waited so long. It totally changes working on your cars and makes it much more pleasant. You don't even need a fancy one, slow is actually better to keep you from melting the plastic threads when removing screws. Awesome video!
@@phillybrc My wife is giving me a 3s granite for my birthday so I've been buying upgrades to toughen it up. @@phillybrc maybe I'll make a TH-cam video, I don't get my granite until my birthday next Friday. Hopefully the jumps by my house dry out so I can take it flipping! I'm stoked to have a stunt truck, my Kraton EXB is just too intense sometimes and kinda hard to flip. Sorry, anyway I'll send you a link if I end up making a video.
This looks like it will work for my Vorteks too! They mounted a wing on the lexan body and it keeps getting folded upwards from the back wheel well. No amount of shoo goo is keeping it from bending upwards. I'm going to remove it and trim the body like you've done here and mount a Typhon wing on. Thanks for the vid. Big help!
@@phillybrc Today I received my wing and mount and installed it. Only some minor tweaks required. The parts are all the same though. Just in time because yesterday the back end of the body folded up on a landing and finished off my Vorteks wing and back end of the body. :) If your body isn't as trashed as mine was you would have to do considerable trimming off the back end BUT if you are in the same boat, why buy a painted 79 body which will just get crushed again, when you can get a wing and mount for about 20, trim off the bad part, protect the back end, and heck it just looks cooler. :) I'd share a picture with you but I don't see how. Thanks for the video!
Well you don't really have to unscrew the screws in the hinges to put the mount on, just undo the 2 screws holding the wheelie bar cushion and then you can just push the wheelie bar down to access the other 2 screws holding the cushion and have enough room to put on the plastic mount or an aluminum mount from hobbypark like I've got
I've watched a few of the wing mount videos. So far this is the only one that doesn't have to drill an extra 2.5mm hole in the body post to make the body even. Not enough to worry about?
@@phillybrc The more I think about it most I've seen have been for the BRCC. Exact same chassis except longer. May be more noticeable on the longer body. Though I did notice your body posts went down further than I've seen. Looks nice though. I like the look.
Yes, you ll have to find the longer screws yourself unfortunately. I was abke to find them at work. I m quite certain Arrma has them available . This modification saves your body significantly. Thanx for watching!!
Ya, that one is cool lookin’ also. More so, i like these wings for function. Maybe i’ll go with the Kraton one next. My body is hammered. Thanx for watchin’ man!
I get that it will help protect the rear and bed areas but how is it protecting the cab area unless you buy and install more stuff and you know that when it is time to buy a new body that cutting that notch out first thing for the wing is gonna hurt a little bit !! LOL!
Hahaha, i hear that my friend. Honestly, the cab can handle the hits. Also, i find this truck often finds it s way back on it’s wheels after tumbles! 🤷♂️.

Beyond being a crash bumper the granite is way too lite in the front and causes it to understeer at high speeds on max grip conditions so adding downforce to the rear just furthers that issue...it looks cool for sure but performance wise seems like a bad idea

Looking good. Can you info all the parts what to be needed to this upgrade? Do I need to purchase extra bolts/ screws?
Thanx!! All mentioned within the video. Yes, a few additional screws are needed
So do you HAVE to have the wheelie bar installed to do this, or can you just put it on a stock granite 3s?
No, you can install without the wheelie bar, just like the 3s Typhon.
No drywall fiberglass in the body cavity with Shoe glue. Truck bed coating works too. My body looks new after abuse.
You think truck bed coating works better than shoe-goo? Thanx for watchin!

Does the added weight in the back cause it to wheelie more than usual? Hopefully not because this thing is already a wheelie machine lol
Good question, not that i can tell since the added weight is minimal. This mod totally saves the truckbed of the body.
