New to Arrma but not RC. Big Rock V3 is my first Arrma. Very nice tutorial, the only suggestions I have are using 20mm screws not 16mm for the wing mount. Arrma uses machine screws in soft plastic so the extra length will give a little more bite without having to wrench the screws down. Home Depot sells a three pack for 70 Cents #213535 . Instead of drilling holes in the shock tower, buy the Granite body posts #AR320606. The rear post positioned all the way down aligns perfectly with the stock holes. Finally when cutting out the rear of the body round out the corners so they're not square, by rounding out the edges it will help the body from tearing during stress.
Thanks for the info, looks like the body mount for the V3 Granite is different than the V2 as still had to drill the hols on the V2 - checking that part number it does state for the V3 Granite which the body sits higher on, good find and tip 👍

This is what my loaded granite is getting . It’s awesome with a 4s combo system from an outcast wide kit , shock tower protectors widening , 17mm hex’s , 4s lp s or stocks , both are great but the 4s lps for jumping is awesome brother , metal gears and 6s shocks fronts Kraton for the rear and mojave . The inky thing I’ve had go wrong is front shock screws pulled out but they’re lock nitted now and the plastic nub bump out underneath the shock bottom where it screws in has worn down to slowly grind away the eye of the shock where the screw goes in so aluminum or a button head domed screw to rub on the kcrc ramp before the arm . Thsts what ground the plastic away by the way 😂. Sorry I got carried away with all the excitement of of new arrmas unleashed and still love the one I have . 😊
Good video! A suggestion though, instead of raising the rear body post you can just remove some material from the top of the wing mount / body post bosses in order to lower the body post all the way to factory. I just used a dremel cutting wheel on mine.
Excellent how to brother! I'm sure this will help a ton people... 👍 one tip I can provide to you is if you use the outcast 4s front body post on the rear of the granite it's a direct bolt on.. no drilling needed.. the body post holes will have to be enlarged slightly as the 4s posts are larger...👍👍

Your welcome, its a failry easy mod to do, just should have come as standard really like on the Typhon 3s
I was watching another video of heavy metal rc and he said the the typhon wont fit because the screw holes are further back than on the outcast wing that u used. Is there a way to make it fit?
Sorry im not sure as have never tried to fit it, you may be able to drill new holes in the wing to change its mounting position or would have to trim some of the wing off
Love the vid. Subbed to the channel :-) New to RC. Even newer to repairs/upgrades...lol! Just spent 30 minutes doing this upgrade. Worked GREAT! Until...I went to put the Big Rock body shell back on. Qont sit. Looks like I need to make some cuts on the tailgate? But no mention in this vid. Please advise. ;-)
Thanks for the sub, good to see new people getting into RC and you have made a great choice for first RC 👍 i missed out that you need to cut part of the the back away for the wing mount, however i did add this as a pinned comment with the size needed to cut out - please check the pinned comment
@@HardcoreRC much appreciated. Loving your vids as I delve into mods and upgrades. 😊
Did you have to cut the big rock body to fit the wing and wing mount?
We did yes, i have pined the size to cut in the comments, i had actually already cut and fitted when i did the video, took everything off and then filmed putting it back on, just missed the cutting out bit
Are there other options for front bumpers other than the tbone raci g option? Something that protrudes out a little more?
For which cars ? the 3s line i use the POS front bumper from the Kraton / Outcast 4s - fits just the same, you can see it on the Typhon in the Big Rock unboxing Video - this bumper right at the bottom of the page: www.pos-modellbau.de/shop/marke-a-m/arrma/
@@HardcoreRC yeah, the 3s big rock specifically...
@@Necrofatica In which case the POS Kraton / Outcast 4s bumper fits, very good bumper which we run on the Typhon 3s
Very clear tutorial
Glad it was helpful! 👍👍
Will this work for a arrma senton 4x4 550 mega
Ifs its the V3 one then yes, but for the chassis, but you would have a big hole to cut in the body where the wing comes up
Nice mod! Well done! I am sure I will have mine mod when I get mine next week
Thanks, glad you liked it, its a great mod and has already saved the body a number of times on mine
@@HardcoreRC It seems like the rear body has raised slightly after the mod? Any idea how much higher? Thank you once again, great mod, SUBSCRIBED!!
@@alanawth The rear body has raised a little bit, probs 3mm, it doesn't really notice. I have been told the front body mounts from the Outcast 4s fit without needing to drill the hole. Thanks for the sub 👍👍
What material do you use for the taping of the inside of the hood??
I used Fiba Tape Orange www.toolstation.com/gyproc-fibatape-xtreme-plasterboard-joint-tape/p58759?store=GB&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2af-BRDzARIsAIVQUOdcg0beXiqNGHqU42_IdCVa2lN4KoJsmBx2JPSsnT0ZDihWH2A0aaYaAoAgEALw_wcB and E6000 glue www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110ML-E6000-Glue-Industrial-Strength-Crafts-Diy-Rhinestones-UK-STOCK/392994381556?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
Hi there, will this work for Arrma Granite Mega 550?
Looking at the chassis etc of the Mega 550 online and appears to be same as the BLX cars so believe this would work
@@HardcoreRC okay sounds great thank you for that information. Hope you have a great blessed day!
@@eckos2310 Thank you and hope you have a great day as well 👍👍
Fabulous video instructions 5 🌟
Glad you enjoyed it
hey bro have you tried you kaiju shocks on your big rock yet? I was told that it adds an inch of clearance and apparently fit right in
Haven't as didn't know they fitted, plus its real hard to get any Redcat parts in the UK, also have other plans for the big Rock, coming very very soon
Will the rpm wing mounts work?? Also I diddn see the part #. Did u post them??
This is the the 3s cars, RPM dont do a wing mount for the 3s cars. All parts are listed and linked in the description
Thanx
Does the Typhon 3S wing fit ok when used on the Big Rock or will it hit the body? I know the body will need cutting to account for the mount.
Typhon 3s Wing will hit the body
@@HardcoreRC thank you. Very much appreciated. I will get the same wing as you have. Great vid by the way.👍
@@TheWightHunter No problem - glad it could help 👍
Pretty cool👍 I love the custom stuff! Subscribed

Thank you for great video.

Excellent video
Thank you very much! 👍👍
Is the granite the same procedure cheers
Granite is the exact same 👍
@@HardcoreRC cheers ill be ordering now 👍
Can I install a rear wing to my Granite Voltage too?
I dont think you can im afraid, the chassis is different on the Voltage
thank you Sir
Your very welcome - hope it was useful 👍
Why would you want to add a rear wing on vehicle that already can’t keep the front wheels on the ground? Wouldn’t it be better suited for the front?
Few reasons, makes it look way better, protects the rear of the body which is a weak area, doesnt make it wheelie any more
Thank you so much for uploading a video on this I will do this
Thanks - glad it was helpful for you 👍👍
Nice mod bro. Very good body protection
Thanks - anything to save the back of the body, plus it looks nice 😂
Thanks for making this video.. 👍🏻👌🏻
My pleasure 😊 hope its helpful for you
@@HardcoreRC definitely is useful. I think I'll put a wing on when I get mine..

Nice job! Great idea 👍👍 I had been wondering when I saw your Big Rock vid 👍
Hehe - had quite a few people ask so though i would do the video, think it looks great and will help protect the body - win win 😂😂
Thanks, great simple mod.
Indeed, nice and easy and makes it look great as well as protection the body
Sick man🤩
Defo thumbs up .
Your welcome - glad it was helpful, think it really transforms the trucks, they should come with wings as standard
Great tutorial! Thank you!
You're very welcome 👍👍
What tools are those you're using? I need some proper RC tools
Mixture really, from general tools to rc specific, if its Hex driver you need then im using MIP probably one of the best ones you can get but but they do cost more
Nice Tag!
Hehe - thanks - good spot 👍
I love it! And im doing mine
Glad you like it and that it was helpful 👍👍 wing doe look good on these cars
Hi
Whats the wheels u fitted
On which car ? the Granite and Bigrock still have the stock wheels and tires. We have fitted out Typhon 3s with Proline badland mx2.8's
@@HardcoreRC the big rock iam after some 2.8 wheels i think
@@miketube6662 These are what you need: www.modelsport.co.uk/pro-line-badlands-mx28-2-8-all-terrain-tyres-mounted-on-raid-6x30-wheels-black-2-/rc-car-products/437821 and then these to make then fit: www.modelsport.co.uk/pro-line-6x30-to-14mm-hex-adapters-for-pro-line-6x30-2-8in-wheels-4-/rc-car-products/442444 this will then be same as what we run on our Typhon. I will likely be putting these on our BigRock as well
What u reckon the biggest wheels I could fit ive just ordered the hot racing heavy duty extensions 17 mm hex from America would like to fit 3.8 might av to upgrade the steering servo
@@miketube6662 i would say the 3.8 that come on the 4s models would be about as big as you could go without putting strain on the running gear. Are you running on the V3 model ? if not then would suggest putting a fan on the motor heasink if upping the tire size.
Why do u need a wing on a basher?? It's just gonna break if u land wrong??? Possibly break something else
Never broken ours, its the same parts as fitted to the Typhon 3s, Outcast 4s and Kraton 4s, it protects the back of the body so it lasts longer, also makes the car look better in my opinion
Awesome!
Glad you think so! 👍👍
@@HardcoreRC I want one for christmas, and it shoud have that wing from the ver y first day!
@@207esmeril Hope you get for Christmas - will be a good day for you
@@HardcoreRC you haven't got any problems with the plastic cvds?

We are friends 👍👍
My tailgate area is also destroyed and well. It is a weak body in my view anyways!
Its not the strongest body for sure, but the rest of our granites body was ok, just the rear was a mess as you saw in the video 😂😂 this wing should protect that area
@@HardcoreRC great video btw
@@rcpd3157 Thanks 👍👍
Hi! Can use the Arrma Heavy Duty Wing Mount Set Rear (www.horizonhobby.com/product/heavy-duty-wing-mount-set-rear/ARAC9681.html) with the same wing, parts, and tools you use on this video?
Your link doesnt appear to work, but im presuming you mean this www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=405521 in which case no as thats for the 6s cars, you need the wing mount that is for the 3s / 4s cars - the item number is in the description
@@HardcoreRC thank you!
@@MarioSilva-zv9yv Your weclome
Clever
Thanks - hope you liked it 👍
Yes mate lovely video
Glad you enjoyed it 👍👍
Seems like you left that part of (cutting the body out) intentionally . You are so precise with everything else on the video.. And Never showed the back of the truck..
Wasnt intentional at all - i had done the Granite before i owned the the Bigrock, I edited the video before i actually went to use the BigRock, I had also already fitted the wing to the Big Rock (not fitted body) when lots of people were asking for a how to video, so i took the wing off the Big Rock, put everything back to stock so i could video how to put it on, so i think i went above and beyond to provide this video. I have since pinned that you need to cut out the back and also the size that needs cutting out
Thumbs down are just trolls
Haters just love to hate, they have nothing better to do 😂
Great vid
I might add two nylon spacers under the wing to higher it a bit more and
Two longer screws about 15 mm at a guess
Great vid 👍
Glad you like and found useful 👍👍 yes you could add some spacers and raise the spoiler / wing up
All your links are broken
Video is 3 years old now, don't have time to go through and update links on all videos, the part numbers are listed so just search those part numbers and all will be found.
Hope you found the video helpful
I need a wing before I tear through the rear of my big rock body
