“Pennywise”. “Harry Potter Man”. “The Preacher Man”... Oh Joseph,,, I laughed so much during this review 😂😂😂🤣 (whew) I needed a good laugh today, so thank you! Oh, and Nick’s words are always enlightening 😉. Thanks for the smiles today - y’all are gems 🖤

I love how joseph calls him pennywise. 😂I do the same thing when referring to the same actor in a different movie. That’s their forever name.

I thought this movie was great. So many low attention span people thought it was too long and couldn't follow all the characters! It needed to be longer. You are right the diner scene established the story!!

I'm happy I found your channel! Amazing review, thank you! This movie and the story stuck with me for days! Loved the movie, but I think the story would make for a great mini series so we can exlore everyone's story.

Robert Pattinson has the most awkward southern accent in this movie. As a North Carolina Native, we denounce this accent 🤣

Great review guys! Agreed, this movie should have been a mini-series.

I came back to watch this in 2023 because this review is wonderful 😂😂😂 I just rewatched the movie again today. Y'all were saving lives in the "panini-panaroma", you have no idea, lol.

Alternative title for this movie (which I just watched 3 years in delay): "Spider-man kills Batman & The Winter soldier because daddy was Pennywise". I agree this could've benefited from a 6 episode limited series. I wasn't bored though, but I wouldn't read the novel, it's too raw. And I'm an avid reader who reads between 130 to 150 books a year

Oh and title is straight from the opening of the book.

BTW.. This book is fantastic and an amazing page turner. Short, intense chapters. The film did a decent job but the book is so good and I feel this film is very much a cliff notes version. The book blew me away.

I was thinking “seems a bit Brett Easton Ellis” throughout Joseph’s description, then Chris said it. Kudos for mentioning _The Night of The Hunter_ by the way. It still has me totally on the edge of my seat even though I’ve seen it countless times.

When period movies cover race, black characters can feel shoe horned in when they have no depth, screentime or dialogue. I disagree, I think a ‘colored only’ sign infront of the butcher shop when they bought chicken livers or a scene listening to civil rights protests on the radio would have made it feel more realistic. The movie subtly touched on the Vietnam war and could have done the same with the civil rights movement without cheapening it

LOL @ "They Killin' Ere-body!!". Can't WAIT to see this film. The cast sounds intriguing ( quite a few of my favorite actors). Produced by one of my many crushes, ‎Jake Gyllenhaal?! Psychological thriller - Hell yes. What's not to love? Came so close to not clicking on this (due to the title), Thank God I did. Also, LOVED seeing you gentlemen on Sledgehammer's channel. Subbed him immediately. Lord, I feel like an ancient Granny next to you both but at 4 yrs old (in 1971), my brother and I sneaked into the living room where a large group of our family were watching The Blob (1958) on a black & white TV. Just the reactions of our younger aunts, uncles and Mum scared the BEJEEBIES out of us and caused us to check under all beds, chairs and closets well into our adulthood!! 🤣 That was also where I saw a young Steven McQueen. Loved him and his films til the day he passed (R.I.P). The horror movie that traumatised me the most - a toss up between Psycho (original) and Exorcist. Hard to say which as I saw both around the same age. Twelve yrs old. Like Nick I was an early/avid reader and had just finished the book of the Exorcist (which terrified me already) then saw it about six months later. Anyway..cannot thank you both enough for your amazing reviews and sharing yourselves with us. Bless 😘Ps. Joseph - I do not lie. Saw Blair Witch while living in Montreal and went in blind..not knowing much about it. I was SHAKING by the end of it. That thing gave me nightmares for weeks after and it took a long time to not shudder automatically when thinking of it. Especially the end. That ending killed me. Took about 5 yrs before I forced myself to see it for a second time so...totally get you!

Robert Pattinson is known for his accents and it was him talking and Campos was looking for a young preacher and he just came out of the church school or something like that ...I think one of the highlights of the movie was the Preacher....until he came.. it was all boring

They're not southern. That's how people in rural Ohio talk. Not being positive or negative - just stating facts.

After I saw this video I looked it up ,and it said it was on the border of Ohio and West Virginia so not the deep south but it said still southern gothic

@@allie7917 The author is Southern from the same area so I guess he just wrote the area he knew best. It is soooo common that Southerners are made to look over religious, dumb, and bat s*** crazy with a penchant for perversity and that's just not accurate for most people here.

Southern American Gothic sublimity isn't for everyone. But I devour the immense dread and darkness of stories like this so I freaking loved this movie.
