Fix Leaking Shower Head or Bathtub Faucet | Rebuild & Replace Shower Valve

  • Leaking or dripping bathtub faucet or shower head? If your shower head or bathtub faucet is leaking or dripping, the shower valve needs to be replaced or needs new seals. You don't have to replace the shower valve or shower diverter valve because it's easy to rebuild shower stem valves to stop the leak in your bathtub or shower. If the bathtub faucet or shower head leaks when the water is off, the valve stem washer needs to be replaced. If the bathtub faucet or shower head leaks when the water is on, the packing nut needs to be tightened or seal stem packing nut needs to be replaced.

I recommend you go to a plumbing supplier or hardware store to buy valve washers, stem packing seals and shoulder gaskets. Take your shower valve and diverter valve with you.

Your explanation is what sets you apart, most clips don’t do it. It’s really educational, thank you.
Perhaps also caution the viewers of differences on threads on valve seats (replacement part). I found three 5/8 seats with 24, 27 short and 27 long threads, it’s important especially when you order parts online.
Learn a lot from your clip.
Now let’s do one on how to soap scum from bathroom tiles.
