    Today, we take a look at the brand new GMMK 2! This is the newest keyboard from Glorious, focusing on the improvement of the GMMK 1. This budget mechanical keyboard is full of quality, featuring hotswappable north facing sockets, RGB LEDs, side lighting, kickstand feet, doubleshot ABS keycaps, and uses the all new Glorious Fox Switches. The Glorious Fox Switches are linear switches that are factory lubed and have a transparent housing, which is similar to Zeal Tealios, Everglide Aqua King switches, and Durock L2 switches aka tealios copies. The transparent housing allows the keyboard to shine extremely bright when LEDs are on and at night. It's available in pink, black, and white, which is quite similar to Razer keyboards. The build quality of the keyboard is nice with the anodized aluminum top plate frame and the keycaps are pretty good. They have regular thickness so they won't be extra thocky. But they are shinethrough so it's extremely well fit for this keyboard. The keyboard also sports a low profile case, meaning the switch tops are exposed, making RGB spread look better as well make it easier to clean compared to a high profile case. Throughout my testing, the heft of the keyboard made it feel premium. The sound of the switches were pretty decent. The only thing that needs work are the plate mount stabilizers. Glorious should put their GSV2 screw-in stablizers as the default instead of the plate stabs because they sound extremely inconsistent.

    Received mine yesterday (black 65% version). My first impressions are that it is quite solid with no flex. The keycaps feel pretty nice despite being ABS although they don't let a great deal of light through. The RGB is less bright than my Duck one2 mini but I think that's because the Ducky had a white backplate which reflected the light through. Maybe the white version is better in that respect. The Fox switches feel nice, I'd say somewhere between a Cherry Red and a Cherry silent red. The stabilisers sound much better than my Ducky. Overall I'm pretty impressed with the keyboard although I might upgrade the keycaps to the Aura pudding keycaps to really let the RGB shine.

    Have a GMMK2 96 % myself and very happy with it, I have changed switches to tactile and keycaps though but the stock linears are easily the best linears I've used.
    Wanted to say that the "input latency" in Glorious Core is confusingly named, it really is "debounce delay". It's set to a high value by default to 100 % avoid double presses, but I've been using the lowest 2 ms setting for months now without issues.

    I just got this keeb and I'm very satisfied. The stabs on my unit sound better than yours (from factory), probably some inconsistencies in factory/QC.
    Switches are pretty good, QMK is also what I wanted.
    I wish there was a TKL version as it's my preferred layout but 65% is also good.
    Overall a solid board, I have not much to complain besides the imperfect shine through keycaps, QMK documentation with a small mistake and the USB port not being flat to the case makes it a bit annoying to swap cables, which I do frequently.
    I'd say 9/10 :)
    Also, the switches are pretty good. Not the best on the market but noticeably better than most factory keyboards in sound/smoothness, although Steelseries Apex Pro and Wooting Lekker switches are contactless, so they're miles ahead in smoothness and customization (because they're analog), but the boards are way more expensive.

    • @LeBassDiaries
      @LeBassDiaries ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it possible to create macros/media shortcuts with it?
    For example make the FN + F1-F3 keys as volume/mute to fit custom keycaps? (should work with other keys if that's the case, but I was thinking about the 96% version which has the F1-F12 row)

    Hi I'm new to keyboards so I was confused when the typing test part had the + Lubed Stabilizers, does this mean you removed the stock ones?

    • @Romsicle
      @Romsicle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It means I lubed them properly. A keyboard usually has "dry" stabilizers, meaning it has no lubed. There's also keyboards that have pre lubed stabilizers (like this one), but 99.9% of the time, they still have rattle, which means it didn't do its job. So when I say lubed, it's lubed properly where there is no rattle: just a clean thock noise.

Not sure if mine were faulty or what but they were incredibly loose and rattly, Everglide aquakings arrived a week after the yellows and it's a night and day difference, the stem is nice and tight holding in the switch and goes down super smooth.
