- In today's challenge I will see if I can beat Sonic Adventure DX without using the homing attack. So basically what if Sonic Adventure played like a classic game. Surprisingly this challenge was really easy but probably because I know this game like the back of my hand.

@@MSCModernSonicChannel yeah it's him. On the latest bumblekast he said that he tried to beat sa1 without using the homing attack just because to him the idea of a homing attack in a sonic game was insulting at the time.

This is the most I've seen the Light-Speed Attack being used in any playthrough! I usually just use it once against the mandatory monkey cage. Never thought to use it to cross the Homing Attack chains.

Technically the homing attack first appeared in sonic 3D blast while using the golden shield
It gave me pain when he said that Sonic Adventure introduced the homing attack literally as soon as he finished talking about 3D Blast.
Tails without flying sounds pretty interesting, as half of his stages are just racing sonic but with absurdly broken shortcuts
deserves more love, definitely thought the final boss would be more of a roadblock
as a bonus, you don't even need to use ancient light to get across the gap in red mountain. there's a half pipe below the fog.

Too easy you can homing attack. Instead play forces just boosting (could get stuck in metropolis)

I thought the final battle against Eggman would be super challenging - mainly the first phase where you have to jump at the glowing parts to hit him - but I'm happy to see you got through!
I actually prefer playing this game without the homing attack. As much as I like the move, I think the game would have been better without it, or with it at least delayed into a late game upgrade. I would have really preferred it if the egg viper could have only been attacked with the light speed attack, which would have given the move more of a role in Sonic's story. Unfortunately, that attack causes the game to misplace your character, and you fall to your death instead of returning to the platform.
Do you know what’s the worst part about casinopolis? Logistically it’s a complete waste of time. Sonic needs to collect rings to make enough coins stack up that you can just walk up to the chaos emerald? Why not just ask Tails to fly him up there? Or better yet why not just ask Tails to grab the chaos emerald?
I definitely prefer to headcanon and Version from Tails’s play through as canon, and just believe that the Emerald found its way into the sewer net work, and the heroes found it down there.

Tails doesn’t own the Tornado, Sonic does. Sonic just lets Tails use it.
Sonic Adventure wasn't the first fully 3D Sonic game of all time, both Sonic R and Sonic The Fighters released before it. If I remember correctly Sonic Schoolhouse also had fully 3D environments so yeah, definitely not the first🥴

Edit: I always thought you HAD to Homing Attack it and thought there was gonna be some weird Spin Dash tech to hurt it, but learning you can damage it by just jumping is wild.
I think Sonic did have a ruff transition to 3D, it just wasn’t SA1. It was X-treme, 3D Blast, R, etc.
When I first played this game I didn’t even know there was a homing attack until I got to the egg viper fight lol
A few months ago I accidentally did this Bc I used the new Xbox series x controller on the pc version and the homing did not work
