Definitely. Other than the classic games, it would be interesting to see how much of Sonic Adventure you can do. Obviously the monkey guarding Red Mountain needs to be destroyed, but that doesn't release an animal so it's fine.

I bet that 2 and 3 would be much harder for such a challenge though, regardless of whether you play as Sonic, Miles, or Knuckles.
Tails and knuckles would actually be easier in sonic 3 since Knuckles has less stages and can glide and and Tails can fly above badniks.

Optimistic Charizard I think he meant how to get past them quickly but it took time to learn how to do it.

Clearly, the clouds have parallax. Obviously that means you are using the 1.1 version, however the 1.1 version still hasn't fixed the spike glitch.
Also the zones are in the correct order on 1.1's Level Select screen!
Some ideas:
-Ringless run
-defeat every enemy
-get all rings and don't lose any
-whatsoever

That's not too bad of an idea. It took me about 2 hours to record and it would be a good way to show how I did it. It just might be a bit boring to watch.

@@BlindLibrary I guess, but in Sonic XL it's almost impossible as well.
I wouldn't mind seeing this challenge repeated for at least the other Genesis/MegaDrive Sonic titles excluding Sonic 3D Blast. Can't progress in that game without freeing Flickies, if memory serves.
There are a handful of games that I can do this. Now I just have to figure out which ones they are. It's going to be fun.

Hmm, I wonder what the lowest score possible is.
Also, use save states/rewind in the future lol. It's fine to avoid them as far as a personal challenge goes, but when you're trying to answer whether something's _possible_ or not, there's no reason to not use them.

I still say the twin Caterkillers can both be herded together near the spring and leapt over at once with a pixel perfect jump under the corner block. I hope other people who attempt this challenge give it a shot. This challenge could actually make for an entertaining new speed run trend.

My guess would be no, since I’m pretty sure there are sections where there are badniks in rolling sections where it’s impossible to dodge them, or areas where you can’t get through an area without killing a badnik. But I might be remembering wrong, this is gonna be fun to watch as it’s really well presented so far. *EDIT:* Wow! Nice job, I’m really surprised. I never would’ve been patient enough to do all of this.

The level that immediately sprung to mind - was Sky Chase in Sonic 2.. the enemies fly at you constantly. Can you get through it, without spinning or jumping through them at all ??

This is gonna be a fun series! I think once you get to the 3D era and beyond, some enemies are mandatory. However, the ones that only release Chaos Drives (in Adventure 2) might be a shortcut!

As far as the game's code is concerned, Scrap Brain Act 3 literally *is* Labyrinth Act 4. It considers Final Zone to be Scrap Brain Act 3.

The first thing to avoid those trail thingies is to see a spike on the ground

I just did this challenge, and I gotta say, starlight and scrap brain are MUCH easier than spring yard and labyrinth zones. Even marble zone is harder. Labyrinth zone is by far the hardest.
I grabbed all the chaos emeralds too, which made it even more difficult.

I tried to record myself trying to beat sonic 1 or 2 without collecting rings (don't, it's impossible) but this is a unique idea, I kinda want to try this with sonic 2
