On my 2009 kia sedona I bought two knock sensors from amazon for $11.00 each and just mounted them to the front and rear engine chain hoist brackets plugged them in and cleared the codes. They work perfect and it took 20 minutes. What a great cheat!!
@@denniscrote4262 do you have any photos of this cheat? I already have the intakes off but would like to know how to use this cheat if my knock sensors go bad again in the future.
@@bbarronjr I don’t but i will see if i can get a pic of at least one on front engine side. It was so simple its ridiculous. I just through bolted the knock sensors through the engine lift brackets. Because the brackets have large holes i just picked up some heavy duty fender washers to put on each side of the bolt and tightened the bolt/ nut and plugged the connectors in. Worked perfect and still is working great. Those original sensors are in an asinine place to start with, i almost shit when i started reading what a pain it was going to be. Glad i came up with this bush fix because it only took like 20 minutes and they wont get contaminated in that shit hole intake pit. I will get you some pics tomorrow. Good luck.
I am at the point of reassembling my after I put the knock sensors in. Did you slide the oil filter assembly in and lightly tighten the bolt to hold it down then install the coolant pipe assembly that goes from the front head to the back head then torque oil filter assembly down? Or did you just slid oil filter assembly in and torque down? I am worried about a coolant leak at the timing cover and oil filter assembly. I do have a new o-ring for that area, just want to make sure I am going to apply enough pressure on the o-ring to seal. Any input would be greatly appreciated
My experience mechanic did this to my 2008 Hyundai Entourage. Doing so, a piece of the aluminum gasket broke off, fell inside the intake, and bent the valve. I was trying to see where this gasket is by looking at your video. I'm still not sure, but at least I got an idea of how this went wrong.
Do you have a video putting it back on? And ty for this vid I searched everywhere on how to change knock sensors on my 2006 sonata v6 and your car has the same engine, great motor by the way love the horse power. What were your cars symptoms if you don't mind me asking?
