    Thank you, mate! I took my motorcycle to a RE specialist, they plug it and they found this issue in the TPS, they want me to change the whole throttle body unit because of this 😳… I found your video and followed the procedure and now my Classic 500 runs awesome. Many thanks Sr👍🏻

    As a carbguy I unfortunetely adjusted the throttle stop screw because of idle issues rapidly after buying. Then i figured out that all the tubes were broken, so i had additive air in the system. After reading in some forums I recognized, that was a big mistake of mine. Nevertheless I'm so glad found your video. After 16000 km with my bike, I fixed my problems with soaking today. Because of your values of the TPS when its on the lowest and the uppest. Throttle stop screw is now adjusted in factory setting. Uppest is .80 and lowest is .14. TPS is on .60 now, much better riding. Unbelivable. Maybe I rise a bit, because of a free flow exhaust system. But first of all Im happy riding my bike like that. Thank you so much for your video man.

      Hy Brad
      Just remembered your helpful clip on youtube. Today i woke up my bike from the winter rest here in switzerland. It rode fantastic, nevertheless not as smooth as my other bikes. So a last question from me, to thorough away my last doubt about the setting. Did you have the lights on of your bike while reading with the multimeter in the video?? Because that would have an influence of the reading.
      Greetings Sam

    Gidday. Thanks for this. Bike has started missing recently in higher revs or cruising round town. @@BradTheMaddMan So the problem is still there but adjusting the TPS has made a big difference in performance. Might take it up to .8.. When in 3rd gear holding the bike at 55-60kph it will just cut out for half a second for one or two fires then cut out and so on.. going to check electrics but you wouldn't know of the issue? Mines the same as yours. My dealer hasn't heard of it either.

    Hi Brad, everything on my 2016 500 Classic is stock and idle is a bit rough, so I watched your excellent vid, and I'm sure I can check this adjustment. I live up in the Rockies at about 9,000 ft. Do you think that 5.8 v or 6.0 v would still be the best setting? Usually carbs on chainsaws and such need some leaning out up here. But does this system automatically adjust for altitude once you have it set right? Thank you, Katie

    • @BradTheMaddMan
      @BradTheMaddMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      First, thanks for watching, Katie. As for the numbers, the system does compensate for about +-5% either way, but from what you describe, you may need to adjust a bit and see if it improves. -Madd Man

      @@BradTheMaddMan Hey out of curiosity I have a new RE himalayan. When it's cold(and only when cold, after 5 minutes it won't come back) it tends to die randomly(in neutral so clutch drag shouldn't be an issue(first bike tho so I might be wrong)). I adjusted the idle up to about 1500 and that didn't help at all, still idles at about 1200 when cold and only goes up to 1500 when warm. Should I check if they positioned this correctly from the factory? If only I could remember where I left that multimeter.

    Brother how does efi 500 throw flame shots by exhaust can u please tell me

    • @BradTheMaddMan
      @BradTheMaddMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll tell the "Easiest" way to do that. You will need A length of High Tension Lead (Spark Plug wire), an extra spark plug, and a programmer for your fuel (Powertronic, power commander, etc.)a weld in bung the diameter and thread pith of your spark plug, an empty/hollow/straight through silencer/ muffler and a drill. Step 1) install programmer and richen fuel intake. 2) wire your length of new high tension lead to the positive side of the battery, making sure to run it through an on/off toggle switch. 3) install new empty muffler. 4) drill a hole in the silencer out of sight and weld in your bung. 5) install spark plug in new bung. 6) install high-tension lead with spark plug boot to spark plug. Done. Now start your bike and get it warmed up. With the right fuel ratio, you can now hold the throttle wide open, shut of the engine and flip the toggle switch, which will allow power to flow from your battery, into the spark plug which is grounded to the silencer, igniting the unburned fuel, thus shooting flames from the silencer. Now, for the bad news. These engines will not take that kind of abuse and you will literally melt your exhaust valve, top of the piston, rings and damage the head rather quickly, lol. But that is how it can be done. -Madd Man
