    Great video thank you! I have two RE Classic 500s, a 2014 and a 2021 and I think I'll fit this to both of them 🙂

      An excellent choice for them. I believe you'll find the performance gains more than admirable and quite noticeable from the start. I'm glad you found this video helpful and thank you very much for watching -Madd Man

    Brad, thanks for the helpful video. One thing - operation with the Power Commander & Auto-tune is quite a bit more sophisticated than what the powertronic is doing. It utilizes a wideband O2 sensor and will dynamically adjust the fuel map to reach a target AFR (air fuel ratio). Use of the stock narrowband sensor makes the system use the stock mapping when operating in closed loop mode which drives the AFR to around 14.7 - great for emissions and fuel economy, not for power. You can leave the stock O2 sensor in with a power commander as well, but since it nullifies the effect of the map in closed loop, you get better/more controllable results with it out. Probably would be the case with the Powertronic as well. With that said - I have 2 RE 500's - have the PC-V one and will likely give the Powertronic a try for the other one.

    Decent, something I'll look into, I've got a megaphone exhaust on mine and I think it runs a little worse since fitting it but it sounds awesome , was thinking air filter and power commander just to get it back to running sweet as well as sounding sweet, not really arsed on performance because I didn't buy an Enfield for performance... It's for the swagger guy! Haha mine is for touring the quiet back lanes and mountain pass's of England, Scotland and Wales .. maybe France for the wind and wheels event .. but I'm never in a rush , stop at every opportunity to take in the sites and make a cup of tea on my panniers, I've got the large luggage rack with the bigger box's and holders for the 5L Jerry cans on the back , I'm just painting some grafix on them as one is for water but don't know what to do yet .. maybe a dripping tap and a fire ? I've painted the panniers to look like ammo cans with a 303 stencil and looks decent . Have a look on my last video and see what you think, skip to 10 minutes from the end because I'm just rambling on about men's mental health awareness while cooking steak for breakfast on a camp fire haha unless you like that kind of thing . Great video buddy or should I say bullet brother haha I look forward to more vids , cheers, Mike.

      This will definitely settle out your slightly lean condition. As will adjusting the throttle position sensor voltage closer to .80 volts. I hope to trek to the UK one of these years. Excellent video, Agree completely. I really like what you've done with your bike, excellent work with the Ammo can pillions there, Cheers. -Madd Man

    Thanks man, very educational !
    I have a question before ordering the Powertronic for my CGT.
    Do you get some improvements right out the box or you have to do the adjustments yourself by changing numbers ?
    I'm not looking to go crazy on new muffler and air filter just now, but this is really interesting. Thanks again for the video.

    Will these units work for a Bullet 500 (B5) engine? The company website does not list the Bullet 500. Also, can I remove the stock ECU and run on the Powertronic alone?

      This is the one you need powertronicecu.com/product/powertronic-royal-enfield-classic-500-single-spark-2009-2019/. The Powertronic uses the ecu, it is a piggyback unit. -Madd Man

      Yeah,I figured as such,I don’t much mind how my classic runs....but I bought one as I feared it’s short comings would dissatisfy me,but as it’s run in more I have become more confident in its as is state...I love my royal enfields,they really are great bikes and I feel no one gives them the chance to settle in before they start passing judgement and trying to change $&*t to improve whatever they find lacking. I changed nothing but the muffler on mine,and just rode the hell out of it and it goes as fast as I ever need it to...but yeah,thanks for the video,it was swell.

    how to this work in close loop system ?

    • @stevew8010
      @stevew8010 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In closed loop with the factory ECU/O2 sensor, you're pretty much stuck with the factory air/fuel ratio (around 14.7). If the Powertronic tries to add fuel in closed loop, the ECU will look at the O2 sensor and think "oh no, it's too rich" and cut back on the fuel. So it effectively nullifies any change the Powertronic tries to make in closed loop. You can probably have it add more fuel than the ECU can correct for, but you'll likely get a MIL (malfunction indicator light). The Power Commander will do exactly the same thing. So the map currently shipped with the PC has zero fuel added in that region. However, ignition timing changes can still be applied. If you really want to get control of the fueling through the whole range, you need an O2 eliminator so the ECU thinks it's always in open loop. But the manufacturers can't tell you to do that since it's defeating emission control devices.

      @@stevew8010 i asked powertronic guys in full throttle it goes to open loop and so how does we feel increased in power and pick up due to ignition timing?

    • @BradTheMaddMan
      @BradTheMaddMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Powertronic works by keeping the ECU in Open loop. -Madd Man

    • @stevew8010
      @stevew8010 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd sent an inquiry to Powertronics about this specific topic a while ago. Here's what they said...
      At part throttle, PowerTRONIC operates in closed-loop along with the stock ECU
      More than 50% Throttle it overrides the stock ECU and improves performance controlling both Fuel and Ignition
      So again, it suggests what the stock ECU gives you in closed loop is what you get.

      @stevew8010 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll try again, looks like it got cut off.
