    your video is highly knowledgable for a layman...i had the idling issue in my bike. at workshop they couldn't figure out why its idling at higher rpm, they cleaned tank n told me to get petrol from another station..well, it sounded ridiculous.. problem didn't solve. after watching your video, i went to check the vacuum pipe n it was cracked..! Now, Problem Solved. Thanks a ton.

      Just shows you the quality of training that Royal Enfield imparts to its mechanics, and the quality and integrity of personnel they select. Glad you got your problem solved. Now I pity the plight of those who buy RE's 650 twins. As it is, the much-hyped Conti 535 isnt exactly exciting its owners.

    Very helpful video for my tbt 500 bro... I found the high rpm issue exactly the way u have guided and found the rubber pipe broken at PAV end... fixed it and there u gooooo... rpm is now exactly 1000

    Hi! Thank you. I was told there is some problem with the clutch plates and get it changed. After looking at this video I had to just change the vacuum pipe(Rs.55/-) and it solved the problem.

    Thank you for this informative video, made me understand a lot of details which i wasnt able to understand when my mechanics kept saying. I am facing a problem right now, my bike was affected by the floods in bangalore last month, so when i finally got my bike out of the water i knew it would be wrong to start it so got it towed to the service center and they told me would require full check up including engine hauling as it was affected by the floods and so i agreed to it. After servicing i rode it for a week with no difficulty. Then rode it only after 5 days of break and was experiencing slight difficulty in riding it, I have been having difficulties before too so thought it was cz i didnt ride it for 4-5 days then next day i tried riding it n faced the same difficulty but this time i tried analyzing it, after having seen this video i feel it was the problem with idling and i was experiencing miss fires in btw. Yday i gave it to showroom n made then check with the help of the computer software instrument and it was showing TPS voltage >2.0V on rest and which is abnormal as i read in various places. What do i do about it? Please help.

    Thank you so much for this video.. I was worried due to the over-revving after using the bike after lockdown. I could see that the tube is cracked and the air leaking. it is resolved now after cutting the broken part of the tube..

      If vacuum pipe is ok then check inlet manifold for any cracks or any gaps or any broken seal which is given for that or check the manifold joints which are holding with the help of clips

    Thanks for the video. I'll be checking this info against my bike later to see if this applies. Though my problem is that the bike seems to idle too low and wants to keep stalling out.

      if you have Tacho then readjust the IDLE. and if you have logger then check it on screen...thanks.

    Thank you for the video.
    I would like to ask for your suggestion on an off topic issue here if you don't mind. Am facing unusual movements in the forks of my Classic 350 when I ride on uneven or rocky surface. It feels like the forks are loose and moving forward and backward with somewhat like 'gubb - gubb' sound. This happens while hard front braking too. Though the front suspension works well, I feel it bottoms out sometimes.
    Am not entirely sure whether the problem is only with the forks or the ball bearing in the steering column (as mentioned in the pdf manual available) is loose / worn out. The bike has 11k kms on the odo. No accidents or mishaps till now.
    Do you suspect the fork seals are damaged or fork oil needs to be replaced? I find the fork mechanism bit complicated for DIY operation. Please advice. If possible, a video on this will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much. Solved my issue. But i am confused about vaccum pipe description. It is not connected to PAV system. Rather it is connected to a part near to the tank.

      Older versions of 500cc had PAV system under the battery and later versions are having under the tank. Its the same. Non EFi 500cc such as cast iron engine had that unit inside the left tool box. Thanks for watching and appreciating video. Where you from?

    Sir can you make a video on same topic for bs6 350 bullet (not classic). Re service guy told me that are advised by company to not change idling in bs 6 efi. I showed them your video. But they are not ready to, stating it will cause starting problem. I am not convinced with the answer especially after watching your video. Pls its a request to clarify more on this.

      Sorry I can't help you in that case. Ecu has to be calibrated through data logger, what ch can be done via dealer if they allowed since its a signature property. Thanks.

    My classic 500 self start has to be pressed long time with slight throttle to start up in 1st gear. And sometimes in 1st gear self doesnt start up the engine

      That's the big problem when having half or no knowledge. Well I hope your machine is fine. Most of the mechanic's has this issue. But we can try educating them.

      @@MechAutoClinic yep, also my speedometer reading are dropping to 0 when I accelerate and wavers around when I stop acceleration. This happens sometimes and then goes back to normal. The showroom guys says its okay when they ride it and says I should record a video of it for them to further look into this I asked them how do i record and they say get a gopro. 😕 Any suggestions on what I could do? Lose wires / instrument cluster?

      nope. minimum 900 RPM is fine...but that is also variable if feels problem

    Sir will it cause a major engine issue or efi issue if VACUM PIPE /PAV PIPE didn't change for long period.??

      If broken pipe then possible high RPm all the time. PAV works after burning fuel so not related directly to EFI. But due to broken pipe engine will ge heat up since since RPM is all the time high during IDLE which will also consume lot of fuel ah ch will lead to spark plug fouling.

      Actually Yes also and no also. Due to tech issues. I have done that but due to some other issues o had to remove all setup.

    Hello brother, I'm based in Pune. My bike is 10 months old, with almost 7k Kms clocked. The problem I'm facing is, even after using Shell fuel, I'm getting the average of 21kmpl. The ASS guys said it's normal and I do believe it's not as I don't ride the bike mad, don't cross 60kmp in city. My bike is stock , no exhaust mod. Also, for some reason my 500 struggles to go past 100 on highways, what do you suggest? And also, if I were to change the exhaust, which one do you suggest I should go for which won't harm the engine and isn't too loud. Thanks brother. Hoping for a prompt response

    My 500 classic engine cuts out if i turn the trottle fast in the initial 10mm twist. If i manage to cross the first 10mm slowly the engine responds well. Even if engine is warmed up this still happens. On first start specially it starts on idle no problem but when i twist the throttle it cuts out. I have to twist slowly till 10mm of twist the its ok. Appreciate ur views

    is there any advantages/disadvantages if you increase or decrease the rpm?

      if you come below RPM then auto decomp might get activate which may lead to engine switch off condition. So if you decrease the RPM then you might have engine stalling issue. And if you increasing the RPM then you may pop the vehicle while switching to first gear or after releasing the clutch in first gear...so all the time vehicle will go to high RPM while switching the gear..

      I guess you have cracked PAV vaccum pipe or you have not fitted that throttle body properly if it was removed and cleaned. Or else you have not fitted throttle cable properly which is keeping g the throttle little high. Recheck all parameters. Thanks

      So it is relates to vacuum. Recheck inlet manifold fitting somewhere leak is there for sure. I hope choke is not on... (Bi-starter)

    Hello I am having an issue with my tbts 500 efi that it does not start without giving little bit of acceleration each time since i bought it and odo is 3200 km only. The service guys dont know anything of this at all. All system working fine there is no issue while driving the motorcycle at all it is just that I have give little acceleration each time. Changed spark plugs to ngk iridium & spark plug cables also to ngk racing ones but these don't kill the prob yet so asking you. Pls guide

      +mechautoclinic yes the rpm stays on 1k after start and it goes 1.5 when the engine gets hot after ride !

    +mechautoclinic hi i have an issue the pipe goes to the PAV system ...(dessert 500)...but its missing from my machine...i need to know how much will it cost me to get a new one..also i read that not having a pav improves performance and sound..so should i get it fixed or??????

      PAV is for emission....u want it or not u decide...engine has got nothing to do with it. its an external spare which spits in the header....

      I had the pav missing.. Also the bike was not working properly at all ..even after servicing it ..the throttle response was poor...it would turn off suddenly even when I was riding it at low speed...so I changed the efi to carburetor..and now it works like charm....thanks for the reply though...

      @@sreejith2685 I don't exactly remember the amount but it was about 7-8 k because I also changed the stock silencer then and the total bill was 13k ...after the efi to carb change there aren't any issues in performance at all...but as we all know by now..the 500cc is a high maintenance machine 👍

    hello sir ! i own an RE 500cc desert strom which is EFI .... It frequently JERKS wen i accelerate (slow speed ) i hav recently visit the RE service center they told me to change the throtle body ( 6000rs ) and fuel injector (2100rs) which cost ! waiting for ur reply :)

      I feel there is no problem other than your ECU....i they are saying issues are with TB and injector then did they swap and checked before making this statement?....LOL...i m sure not....I would like to check your bike personally if you allow me to do so...if yes then you will have to come down to pune...let me know...my number is 9822212496..thanks.

      Hello, good sir. I have been facing the same problem(misfiring in low rpm) with my Classic 500. Sadly I have not come across this video earlier, hence changed my throttle body and with no results. I have changed the factory long bottle exhaust with the OEM short bottle version and immediately noticed a backfire occuring when I dump the throttle. Also, the jerk seems to disappear when the right side spark plug is changed but sadly it only lasts a month. At the end of the month the spark plug was black(carbon deposits) and significant carbon deposition in the exhaust.

    I think my classic 500 2021 stealth black is the first and last Royal Enfield I will ever buy. It really is a load of crap and after sale service is bullshit. Unless you're a good mechanic and you buy the Indian manufactured factory version not the Thailand one. Because in India, the CEO of Royal Enfield drives one himself and he forces all the employees in the office to drive one to work as well, so that they understand and love royal Enfield bikes. But in Thailand, they have opened their own factory, And none of the sales persons or other employees understand Jack xxxx about the products, and they put them together very badly, lazy to help, and cheat on Royal Enfield too (typical Thailand dishonesty), by putting some of their own cheap Chinese parts in on the sly, and stealing the original parts which came from India. Absolutely terrible service, and the sales people in the showrooms can't even tell you the specifications of a single model. The mechanics in the Royal Enfield official show rooms here do not even know how to fix the EFI, All they understand is taking apart things like a Honda wave. They don't understand anything to do with electronics or a computerized aspect of a modern motorcycle. So they are highly unqualified here in Thailand and Royal Enfield is starting to get a terrible name here. I always wanted one ever since I was living in India and the late 80s early 90s, and saw the hippies using them to drive around. But now I've got one, I realize it's just a classic British bike that got turned into a cheapo Third World Indian version and use is extremely cheap materials. It's easiest to see that if you look at the front turn light blinkers that they just screwed on with two nuts and bolts each of which have a different color they don't even match. They can't even put LED lights on the meds just a really stupid yellow round lightbulb on the blinkers and headlights. That's a bit too much old school. It's just a lot of cheap parts put together to look like some thing that used to be an equal to BSA, Norton, and try them. But as soon as it became an Indian bike not an English one it turned into a tin can instead of an armored tank
